Because of my lack of predictions for SCL, and seeing as how other tiers have been making much better content, I have decided to review all SCL matches from Weeks 1 to 4. This is the first part, which covers week 1 of SCL.
Gilbert Arenas (W) vs NoName6293 (L)

replay:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9uu-968686
Looking at the two teams, we can see that Gilbert Arenas brought a bulky offense team for week 1. We can see he is using Lokix as his speed control option, and his rocker is either Heatran or Donphan. NoName brought a Sand team, as shown with the combo of Tyranitar and Excadrill as well as pivots such as Fezandipiti and Slowking. The biggest thing to point out for NoName's team is the level 99 Slowking, which is specifically run to underspeed opposing Slowking. NoName leads Salamence while Gilbert Arenas leads with Keldeo, which is a good lead for NoName. At turn 3, NoName reveals Hydro Pump on Salamence, which is uncommon in UU. On turn 15, Heatran traps and kills Slowking with a Taunt set, which is huge as NoName now lacks a concrete answer to Keldeo. On turn 22, NoName makes a play with Draco Meteor, which OHKOes the incoming Latios. This turns out to be the turning point of the match, as Keldeo comes in and NoName switches in Tyranitar into Surf. Then NoName switches Excadrill in, probably not knowing that most Keldeo in UU run Vacuum Wave. Fezandipiti would have been the better switch here, and Excadrill is KO'd. On turn 26, Heatran terastallizes, probably to avoid taking super-effective damage from both Hydro Pump and/or Earthquake from Salamence. Salamence is then trapped and killed on turn 30 after a Hurricane miss. On turn 33, Fezandipiti reveals Tera Water, which is NoName's last resort Tera option. We can then see Gilbert Arenas making NoName burn Roost PP on Fezandipiti. While Gilbert Arenas' Donphan and Lokix both go down, they succeed in burning enough of Roost's PP so that Keldeo is able to win the match.

ChrisPBacon (L) vs
JustFranco (W)
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9uu-968907
On team preview, we can see that ChrisPBacon brought a balance team with Excadrill as the Rocker and Talonflame to hopefully punish Weavile. The wincons here are Cresselia and Keldeo, as it looks like Cress could run a Calm Mind set and Keldeo can act as a general wallbreaker with presumably specs. Franco brought a bulkier team with Heatran as the rocker, Gardevoir as the scarf user of choice, and Bellibolt on the team. The biggest surprise here is Bellibolt, which was and currently is in C rank. Franco leads with Bellibolt into ChrisPBacon's Keldeo, which is a good lead choice from Franco. On turn 1, it is revealed that Keldeo is actually Life Orb, which indicates the use of the Pain Split set. On Turn 7, Franco reveals Eject Button on Slowking, which serves to bring in Gardevoir for free. However, on turn 11, ChrisPBacon also reveals Eject Button on Excadrill, which is a very interesting technique. On turn 16, ChrisPBacon loses his Keldeo, which makes his team much weaker against Franco's Heatran. On Turn 20, Franco reveals Tera Bug on Lokix, which knocks out the Excadrill. Judging by the calcs on turn 26, we can assume that Franco was running Choice Banded Lokix here, also on that turn, while Lokix knocks out Talonflame, it also suffers a Flame Body burn on that turn, reducing its effectiveness over the course of the match. This would prove to be short-lived, as after sacking Bellibolt, he uses Healing Wish on Gardevoir, which cures Lokix of its burn. He then first impressions on the Cresselia, but it Terastallizes into the Fairy type, and it takes 47% damage. It goes for Thunder Wave, but it misses. This proves to be crucial, as Serperior might have been able to win if it had landed. The battle ends quickly after this, as ChrisPBacon has no way to break past Slowking after Lokix takes down Serperior.
pdt (W)vs etern (L)

replay:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9uu-969074
Here, we can see that both players went with the combo of Scizor+ Enamorous-T, which is very interesting. pdt ran a sand team with presumably Rocks Tyranitar and Sand Rush Excadrill, while etern ran what appeared to be a more Bulky Offense team, with Weavile being the primary physical wallbreaker, and Donphan serving as the team's rocker. Also, judging from this team composition, I would have expected etern's Salamence to be a special attacker, seeing as how Scizor+Weavile already fill the roles of physical attackers. On turn 1, we can see pdt lead Latios into etern's Weavile, which puts pdt on the back foot. On turn 2, we can see Rocky Helmet Keldeo, which was a tech that was run specifically to punish the likes of Weavile and Tyranitar. On turn 7, Weavile goes for Triple Axel against Weavile, but it only landed one hit. Had all 3 hits connected, Keldeo could have been worn down to the point that it wouldn't have been able to KO both Donphan and Weavile. On Turn 14, with etern's Enamorous-T on low HP, he reveals Custap Berry, which is a very neat tech. etern's Scizor then revenge kills Excadrill with Bullet Punch, but takes a substantial amount of damage from Rocky Helmet and Life Orb. In turn 19, Latios goes for Draco Meteor, but it misses into Weavile, if it had hit it would have made things very difficult for etern, as he loses a key component of his offense. At turn 22, Keldeo is able to 2HKO Rotom-W with Sacred Sword, which makes etern's team weaker against Scizor. At turn 26, after revealing itself to be Dragon Dance, Salamence goes Tera Steel to resist Enamorous' Moonblast. For some reason, pdt uses Dragon Dance on turn 28, probably because he assumed Salamence would have Roost in the last slot. On turn 30 pdt reveals Tera Water Scizor, which is a very uncommon Tera type, as most Scizor run either Tera Steel or Fire. Etern goes for Dual Wingbeat as a midground, but it misses, to which Scizor responds with Close Combat and KOes Salamence. While Dual Wingbeat would not have KOed Scizor, it would have placed it within range of etern's Scizor's Bullet Punch, which would have won the match as Latios was low on HP. pdt's scizor then cleans up etern's team for the W.
Punny (W) vs zS (L)

replay:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9uu-969132
Looking at Team Preview, we can see Punny brought a sort of slower balance core, with the fastest mon being Serperior. From this, we can assume that the rocks are from Excadrill. I would also not have been surprised at Scarf Keldeo if it was run, as it would have provided some nice speed control. zS, on the other hand, brought a very bulky sand structure, with Toxapex and Skarmory being the two walls of the team, with Lokix, Gardevoir, and Sand Rush Excadrill all being able to deal with faster foes. Punny leads Rotom-W into Toxapex, which is a good lead for them. By turn 9 Punny has revealed that both their Keldeo and Serperior were Substitute. The Keldeo set is Sub CM Keldeo, which is very difficult for zS to deal with, especially with Toxapex being Assault Vest and lacking Haze. On turn 13, zS is able to Whirlwind the Keldeo, but at the cost of his Skarmory only having 1 HP left. On turn 17, after getting up a Swords Dance and using Rapid Spin, Excadrill goes for Rock Slide against zS' Tyranitar, which went Tera Flying on this turn. Unfortunately for Punny, their Rock Slide missed, which would have removed a significant chunk of health from Tyranitar, and would have made it a worse special wall, as it did not have Leftovers. This also meant that Excadrill was not running rocks, meaning that there were no Pokemon on Punny's team with entry hazards. On turns 25 and 26, Punny knocks out zS' Gardevoir with Skeledirge only to have KOed by Lokix the next turn. What I found interesting about Punny's Skeledirge is that it is Leftovers, which is rare on Skeledirge due to its weakness to Stealth Rock. After Punny KOs the Tyranitar, zS' Excadrill comes in to revenge kill, which makes Punny go into Rotom-W, but then Excadrill reveals Rock Blast, showing that it is most likely a Loaded Dice set. At turn 35, Keldeo goes Tera Steel, but at the same time Toxapex reveals Mud Shot, a move choice no doubt inspired by its prevo Mareanie down in Little Cup. However, the move misses, which while it wouldn't have done much to Keldeo, it would have lowered its speed, which would have made Keldeo slightly worse into Lokix and Excadrill, although Punny would have certainly switched into either Rotom or Mandibuzz, both of whom could check either Excadrill or Lokix, respectively. From here, the game is over, as zS has no way to defeat Keldeo.

watashi (L) vs
Garay Oak (W)
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen9uu-969513
Garay Oak is running a fairly standard Bulky Offense team, with wallbreakers such as Weavile and presumably Choice Band Metagross. Garay Oak's Stealth Rock user is presumably Donphan. The biggest surprise on Garay Oak's team is that of Azumarill, which was seen as a noob trap, being C rank at the time of the match. watashi, on the other hand, is running a sand team. The team appears to be quite weak to Weavile, which has super-effective coverage against all of watashi's mons if it is running Low Kick. Watashi leads Serperior to which Garay goes into Weavile. This is a fantastic situation for Garay, as the ways to do damage are numerous. On turn 2, Watashi has to Terastallize Heatran early against the possibility of Low Kick Weavile, but Garay reveals Protect, which is probably run to deal with First Impression from Weavile and Slither Wing. On turn 3, Weavile uses Triple Axel, which does significant damage to Heatran but Weavile gets burned from the attack. From turns 10-12, we can see that watashi's Serperior is Subseed, while Garay is running a Specs Latios. On turn 18, Mandibuzz misses Toxic, which stings a little as Azumarill is able to get the 2HKO with Play Rough. On turn 21 watashi sets up Swords Dance with Excadrill, hoping to get a full paralysis, but he doesn't, and Excadrill is KO'd by Specs Surf. The match ends with Garay Tricking on a Choice Scarf from Metagross onto Slowking, which ended the match as it was unable to recover any health inflicted by opponents.
Anyways thats my SCL analysis for the Week 1 Slate of Matches, this took a lot of effort to make. See you soon for Week 2 and onward!
