Second ever attempt at an OU team--thoughts?

Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash / Leftovers
Pressure
Modest
220 HP / 252 SpA / 36 Spe

Spikes
Psychic
Ice Beam
Recover

Standard Spiker but with Ice Beam. Lays down spikes and sweeps/recovers should the need for either arise before it's done. Focus Sash over Leftovers in order to ensure it survives a Shadow Ball from a Modest Gengar sporting the Sash as well. Timid Gengar with 31 IVs and 252 EVs (sans Life Orb, obviously; I'm pretty sure the standard Gar, in any situation, will need a Focus Sash to survive Psychic) leaves Deoxys with 1 HP (tested), in which case Sash would prove pointless and Leftovers might be a better option; but of course there is more than Gengar to consider although no other starter provides more of a prevalent risk. Correct me if I'm missing something, which I probably am. ANYWAY, once switched out Deoxys can come back in for more sweeping later. Garchomp/Salamence/Dragonite come to mind so long as they are not Scarfed/have not used Dragon Dance or recieved a boost in speed in any other way.

Dragonite @ Yache Berry
Inner Focus
Adamant
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Dragon Dance
Outrage
Thunderpunch/Firepunch
Earthquake

Standard DD Physical sweep. Thunderpunch over Firepunch/blast has actually made a HUGE difference in dealing with Gyarados, and I didn't have any anti-pure water attacks otherwise. Though I may take the Fire route in order to handle a few other threats such as Weavile, as I currently have nothing to counter him specifically. The only problem I see is DDing safely, which is why I chose Yache Berry to give me a better chance.

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Pressure
Bold
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA

Calm Mind
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Pain Split

With Spikes set up the opponent can either wait out the Hypnosis or switch and get hurt; both situations give Tomb a chance to CM at least once. Assuming they stay in, I can hopefully fit in several CMs and then Shadow Ball. If not I can take a few hits and Pain Split. After a few CMs (and taking Spikes damage into consideration) Tomb should be able to handle Dusknoir, especially if I opt to take a hit from it first and then Pain Split. Tomb also exists as my anti-spin.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
Bold
252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD

Wish/Softboiled
Protect/Aromatherapy
Toxic
Flamethrower

Blissey. Quite obviously. I may opt for Softboiled over Wish as Jirachi already takes care of the heal the others thing, plus if Deoxys becomes paralyzed then I may need Aromatherapy (thoughts?). The rest is self-explanitory.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
Impish
240 HP / 56 Atk / 76 Def / 136 Spe

Wish
U-Turn
Zen Headbutt
Reflect

Standard Wish/U-turn. Reflect to lower EQ damage Heals whatever may need it, and can possibly compel the opponent to switch out (and recieve Spikes damage) after I bring in a new teammate. If not, then Deoxys can still make its return, get the Wish after recieving what was meant for Jirachi (should survive after Reflect) and sweep speedily without the possibility of Focus Sash activating after U-turn. Zen Headbutt is for fighters that may later threaten Blissey (or anybody else).

Swampert @ Leftovers
Torrent
Relaxed
240 HP / 216 Def / 52 Atk

Earthquake
Avalanche
Stealth Rock
Roar

Physical sweeper/Stealth Rock. Stealth Rock to add to switch-in damage and Roar to shuffle/shrug off sweepers in the midst of setting up. As Swampert is very slow (135 Speed on this one), Avalanche could come in handy and provides decent type coverage at the very least.

Anyway, I'm fairly new to competitive team building; any and all criticism is welcomed.

Thanks

deoxys - you have no gyarados counters so you will want thunderbolt somewhere. i doubt you'll ever get to use recover very successfully so might as well ditch that and maybe a bit of extra speed cant hurt. dont raelly like spikes on it that much but its ok i guess.

dragonite - why use something weak to stone edge AND ice fang to counter gyarados? thats not going to work. not bad otherwise

spiritomb - dark pulse is much better than shaddow ball and gets stab too, will o wisp can be used over hypnosis if you like, it can help against physical attacks too and will o wisp + pain split is just overall annoying

blissey - the rest is self explanatory? then please explain flamethrower. flamethrower is terrible.

jirachi is all right i guess

swampert - you probably arent going to be able to do nearly as much as you want with this, but its all right

Looks pretty solid overall, but one thing I would reccommend is EVing Deoxys-E to outrun Scarfed Garchomp. You do have Jirachi to absorb Outrages, but I still think it would be a worthwhile change, since I don't really think you lose out on any siginificant OHKO's or 2HKO's, and the extra insurance could be helpful in case you get haxed by Sandveil. I would probably just go 220 HP / 208 SAtk / 80 Spd, Timid. You lose out on some power, but most things you will be hitting will be for Super Effective, but you also gain the ability to outspeed +1 Salamence and Dragonite, so I think it is a worthwhile trade.

You should make Deoxys into more of a sweeper with something like

Deoxys@Expert Belt/Life Orb
-Superpower
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Psychic/Shadow Ball

with a mild or rash nature, max Satk, put enough in speed to outrun ScarfChomp and dump the rest in HP. this is a very effective late-game sweeper and is not walled by Blissey.

Dragonite is OK but FirePunch should be a better choice over ThunderPunch

Spiritomb is good. Consider Will-o-wisp over hypnosis. Might want HP Fight since no Pokemon resists Ghost-Fight combo.

blissey should have

-Softboiled
-Aromatherapy
-Toxic/Ice Beam
-Seismic Toss

Jirachi is fine

If Swampert is not your lead then putting Stealth Rock is kinda pointless when your opponent's Pokemon can be finished by sweeping in the late-game.
I would lead with Swampert since Deoxys is excellent at finished weakened Pokemon later. If you want more a physical sweeper Waterfall is always an option on Swampert

@highstakes:

flamethrower on blissey to predict and hurt hera/weavile/steel physical sweeper switch ins.

also, what do you mean by i won't be able to do as much as i'd like with swampert?

@Danyul: i could try that, since deoxys pretty much needs to rely on his speed to get hits in.

@Indragon: i really feel like i'd like to keep spikes on deoxys; making my opponent think twice before switching in and out is something i'm trying to do here. stealth rock alone wouldn't provide much of a threat to anything that's not airborne, so...

if i want swampert to remain more of a late-game sweeper, do you recommend waterfall over stealth rock?

i can't say that i'll like it. there is an intrensic problem with smei-stall teams without a spinner and that's a SR weakness. ape will also give you a few problems. starmie should fit right in on this team, probably over swampert.

perhaps starmie could run tbolt and become my gyarados counter as well; i'm having a difficult time re-inventing deoxys as i don't want to replace anything i might need, so...

considering a supportive starmie:

Starmie @ Leftovers
Calm
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe

or should i split SpD/Spe or SpD/SpA? what do you think is a priority?

For Starmie,

Starmie@Leftovers
Ability:Natural Cure
Nature:Calm
EVs 252 HP/60 Spd/196 SDef

This would be more of a SDef based supportive Starmie, leaving you vulnerable to physical weaknesses. But since you can't cover everything at once, its best to boost SDef more significantly than splitting them alongside Defense.
