Jirachi @ Wide Lens
EVs: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
Charge Beam
Thunder
Water Pulse/Hidden Power [Water]
Psychic/Hidden Power [Ice]

Designed to exploit Jirachi's awesome Trait as much as possible, Serene Grace Jirachi with Wide Lens is a great Special Sweeper. Jirachi is possibly the only effective user of Charge Beam, raising its rate of boost to 90%, and with Wide Lens it hits literally 99% of the time. Thunder is a better choice than Thunderbolt with the increased power, 77% accuracy, and about a 46% chance of paralysis (accounting for misses). The third move covers opposing Ground and Fire Pokémon: Water Pulse confuses 40% of the time, which is handy, while Hidden Power has a bit more power. For the last move, you have to decide between STAB and Dragon coverage. Keep in mind with Dragon resistance and Wide Lens counteracting Sand Veil Jirachi is a great Chomp counter with HP Ice.

Other options for this set include Hidden Power Rock for Fires, Salamence and Gyarados, Zen Headbutt and going mixed for the flinching, and Shadow Ball for a better (40) chance at lowering Special Defense.

I only tested this set a little, but it worked alright for me. Tell me what you think.

The typical Rainhax set with WaterPulse/Thunder/ZenHeadbutt/(RD or Wish) was pretty standard I thought. And Lefties will probably help it's decent survivability more than few percent more hax.

Jirachi learns Calm Mind, which has a 100%!!! chance of boosting your Sp.Atk along with your Sp.Def!!!

Type coverage my ass. 2 Electric attacks when he can CM? Nice try. Also, if you want to save this, calculations are needed to warrant a new set, even though this is just a bad version of the CM set.

Jirachi is possibly the only effective user of Charge Beam

No way, it's pretty standard on Cresselia and I've seen it used to great effect. It's a little redudant on this set - Calm Mind would be far superior. I couldn't see myself using Charge Beam when I know I have Thunder/bolt at my disposal. My trigger finger is too itchy. ^_^

You see, the problem with Jirachi as a Garchomp counter, is that Garchomp is faster and...y'know...OHKO's Jirachi.

The general idea of abusing Serene Grace is pretty good though. Not new, but good nonetheless.

I know the feeling. I just have to convince myself that I'm not using charge beam as a damage source, just a bad CM that does damage too. Perhaps a Mixed SG-abuse Jirachi with Thunder/Zenbutt/Water/filler would be better than a Charge Beam set. I do like the idea of Wide Lens + Serene Grace though.

And BTW why is it effective on Cress? It only can pump 63% of the time.

Because Cresselia can stay in on a huge number of attacks.

Although quite frankly, my response to a Charge Beam Cresselia is the same as any other... Stallrein's Roar. Even with a few boosts, Charge Beam isn't going to do much damage with Cresselia's crap Sp. Atk.

Dunno about that, it isn't too bad for a wall, I've tried CM cress without EVs and it des pretty well with psychic and ice beam.

How about Drain Punch + Life Orb.

Make it a mixed sweeper to take advantage of Life Orb, and Drain Punch kind of replaces Wish (I'd still run it with Wish support from another Pokemon though)

This is a set I've been using on my gravity team, except that I go with Gravity to replace the usage of Wide Lens so I can put on Lefties. Gravity/Thunder/Charge Beam/HP Ice is niiice. I keep switching the set around thanks to it being so tough to nail down a single set that works; One is walled by 'pert, the next is pwnt by dragons...

My current set is more like Gravity/Thunder/Grass Knot/Psychic. Gravity is obviously replacable with Charge Beam or something else. I really like this particular set.
I think for the purposes of purely special sweeping and not for support (which is what he does best), Jirachi should run something like:

ChargeBeam
Thunder/Fire Blast/FlashCannon
Grass Knot/Psychic
HP Ice
Charge Beam to boost Spatk, Thunder/FB/Flash Cannon are all 120 base (after STAB) and have their own type coverage and effects (Flash Cannon might be better than the others for the 100 acc, if the type coverage is worth sacrificing), Grass Knot is for Rock/Ground/Water coverage (Rock or Water can be taken care of through Cannon/Thunder, but the other two are nice types to cover) or Psychic for pure power and the effect; Finally, HP Ice takes care of those pesky dragons.

Nice try, except Jirachi can't learn Fire Blast. :P But really, why wouldn't you just use Calm Mind? Charge Beam's pitiful 50 base power is really not worth the 90% accuracy and the lack of Special Defense boosting. Cresselia just uses Charge Beam to kill Gyarados; Jirachi gets Thunder/bolt to do that.

Jiraci can't learn fire blast... also I think that the set listed above should have some sort of wish support, Wish is basically Jirachis bread and butter.

Jotleon is also and execelent chare beam abuser

jolteon@petaya/starf
{tmid}
-charge beam
-hp ice
-sub
-baton pass

attempt to behind a sub and pass satk boosts and subs something like yanmega, heatran etc.

Porygon2 is an effective Charge Beam user, and Alakazam is also situationally. dont use such broad statements like "the only good user of CB"

I use something like that with Blissey as my Serene Grace abuser. The Calm Mind set on Blissey is veru under-used, but it works very well.
