Seriously Tangrowth should get on Weight Watchers (a shoddy Warstory)

I don't want someone shoving his views down my throat, unless they're covered in a crunchy candy shell.” ~ Stephen Colbert

This quote sums up my battle style, and my choices for team building. Unless of course the pokemon is so amazing that it can’t be passed up.

It was a sunny afternoon. I had just got home, logged on to shoddy and was watching a battle when I received a challenge. I accepted and was thrust into probably my closest battle ever. This is my First warstory but I think I did a good job, enjoy!

Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Timed Battle

ichabod sent out Porygonz (lvl 100 Porygonz).
Daveyboy sent out Rex (lvl 100 Tyranitar).
Rex's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!

Ouch, right away at a disadvantage! Porygon Z is a risky lead. But if he gets a Nasty Plot up he OHKOs a ton of stuff.

ichabod switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ).
Rex used Crunch.
Swampert lost 32% of its health.
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

That was decently powerful but at least I get a free SR set up on turn 3. Losing 26% is worth a SR right?

Daveyboy switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Swampert used Stealth Rock.
Nothing much here, I expected a grass move so I switched to my Sweeper hoping for a free set up.

ichabod switched in Yanmega (lvl 100 Yanmega ).
Celebi used U-turn.
Yanmega lost 10% of its health.
Daveyboy switched in Rex (lvl 100 Tyranitar ).
Rex lost 12% of its health.
Yanmega lost 6% of its health.
U-turn, I didn’t expect that. But then again I haven’t played competitive since December. And now I switch to Swampert again. Look familiar?
ichabod switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ).
Rex used Ice Beam.
Swampert lost 20% of its health.
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Wow ice beam, looks like I’m in for a confusing battle. He will switch out so I go for another SR for some reason.

Daveyboy switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.
Swampert used Stealth Rock.
But it failed!
Jirachi restored 6% of its health.
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

That wasn’t very good. Two SR’s would have been great but now will he seriously keep his Ground prone Jirachi on my Swampert?

Jirachi used U-turn.
Swampert lost 13% of its health.
Daveyboy switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Celebi lost 12% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
Celebi lost 13% of its health.

U-turn, the bane of my weak prediction skills. I have to switch again but this time I forgot that my Tangrowth was weak to U-turn.

ichabod switched in Tangrowth (lvl 100 Tangrowth ).
Celebi used Grass Knot.
Tangrowth lost 26% of its health.

Tangrowth needs weight watchers. He took 26% percent from a double weak Grass knot. But here comes a free Sleep Powder.

Celebi used U-turn.
Tangrowth lost 18% of its health.
Daveyboy switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.
Tangrowth used Sleep Powder.

Hmm, a Jirachi, would it have been better for him to keep Celebi in and Grass Knot away? At least Jirachi is asleep. Yay Sleep powder! Hopefully I can Knock off his leftovers as well.

Daveyboy switched in Magnezone (lvl 100 Magnezone).
Magnezone lost 6% of its health.
Tangrowth used Knock Off.
Magnezone lost 2% of its health.
Tangrowth knocked off foe Magnezone's Leftovers!

Knock Off is an underrated move in my opinion. But it helps so much in the end game. And it sets up sweeping opportunities. But I had to get out of there.

ichabod switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ).
Magnezone used Substitute.
Magnezone lost 25% of its health.
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Swampert is one of my favorites because he can switch into many things. But I have to give props to Davey for setting up a sub.

Magnezone used Hidden Power.
Swampert lost 26% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
Magnezone's substitute faded!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
HP Ice it looks like. At least his sub is gone. Jumping the gun I go for the kill. But looking back I should have noticed the obvious fact that he was going to switch and SR.

Daveyboy switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Celebi lost 12% of its health.
Swampert used Earthquake.
Celebi lost 13% of its health.
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

I was rattled and made a very predictable switch, an Avalanche would have constituted a KO but I wasn’t paying much attention.

ichabod switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ).
Celebi used Heal Bell.

There goes the sleep on Jirachi, now I Toss. A pretty Generic move but in retrospect I should have sang. Forgot what Heal Bell did.

Daveyboy switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.

This isn’t good, I don’t feel like switching so I stay in and Toss again.

Jirachi used Wish.
Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Jirachi lost 25% of its health.
Jirachi restored 6% of its health.

Looks like he is going to switch into something for Wish support. Great just what I need. I sing to try to even things out.

Jirachi used Stealth Rock.
Blissey used Sing.
Jirachi fell asleep!
Jirachi restored 50% of its health.

SR wasn’t expecting that. Plus I didn’t see it until one of the last turns.

ichabod switched in Porygonz (lvl 100 Porygonz).
Porygonz lost 12% of its health.
Daveyboy switched in Rex (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).
Rex lost 12% of its health.

Just what I need, his T-Tar again. But my Z is powerful enough to take a big chunk of T-tar’s HP.

Rex used Crunch.
Porygonz lost 67% of its health.
Porygonz used Hyper Beam.
Rex lost 53% of its health.

Medicham used Ice Punch.
The substitute took damage for Magnezone!
Magnezone used Thunderbolt.
Medicham lost 86% of its health.
ichabod's Medicham fainted.

Props for me:
Early SR
Swampert for being a monster
Tangrowth for going the Distance
My lucky prediction skills
Sing and Sleep Powder for not missing
Bliss for Revenge killing
Things I should have thought through:
Keeping Yanmega in on Jirachi
Swampert not being able to sweep
Forgetting what Heal Bell did
Sandstorm Priority
Life Orb Porygon-Z commiting suicide.
Letting Sandstorm be and effect
Props for him:
U-turn rape
A very stealthy Stealth Rock
Sandstorm
Jirachi for waking up and wishing 3 times
Winning
Dugtrio trapping my Bliss

Uh, you start by stating "I'm a nonconformist! Look at me!" while simeltaneously releasing a random-ass warstory thus going with the current flow of the influx of crappy stories. Nice job!

The story has the same flaws as a lot of the stories. The story is just lots of log, followed by telling us exactly what just happened, then more log, then more repeating said log... sorry, it's really not that good.

Why did you leave Medicham to die? He had plenty of health left over, and Blissey takes Thunderbolts as if they were beach balls. Sacrificing Medicham because he already killed something was one of the stupidest things I've seen in a battle.

And then you used, of all things, PROTECT as you waited for your opponent to switch out of a Choice Band Earthquake. Seriously, that's extremely dumb. You used Protect when last turn your opponent used a Choice Band Earthquake.

You used Hyper Beam... on... Tyranitar. What. The. Hell. Hyper Beam is, and I repeat, ONLY for when you're about to die. Only.

Sorry that I'm so harsh. Good luck next time!

Too much log, not enough commentary. Not a great battle overall, pretty average. The few lines of commentary don't give any insight of what you were thinking, only repeat what has been stated on the log...average warstory, I'd say.

This is more of a log filled with comments that show you don't have very much knowledge of the game. To explain Tangrowth you look at his horrible Sp. Def and STAB on the Grass Knot. Also Sleep Powder has 75% accuracy and it was not a well played game anyways.

Anthing I was going to say was already said, so I will not repeat what was said by not really saying anything.

MINDGAMES!!!!

Why didn't Yanmega use Bug Buzz on Jirachi? And why did you use Hyper Beam on someone who'd resist it?

Sorry, not a very good story.

...I am aghast...you tried to use lay 2 layers of Stealth Rock. That is one huge mistake. I think the rest's been covered by the people above me.

U-turn, I didn’t expect that. But then again I haven’t played competitive since December.

Wow ice beam, looks like I’m in for a confusing battle. He will switch out so I go for another SR for some reason.

That wasn’t very good. Two SR’s would have been great but now will he seriously keep his Ground prone Jirachi on my Swampert?

OK this is getting close. I need some luck here. I roll my sweat covered mouse over to his poke balls and saw Dugtrio and Jirachi.

This was a hilarious battle. You've really brightened up my day.
