[SET]
Sheer Force (Thundurus-Therian) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot / Taunt
[SET COMMENTS]
Thundurus-T is one of the strongest wallbreakers in the tier, boasting a massive Special Attack stat and a variety of coverage moves. Nasty Plot is its main source of pressure, letting it muscle past passive walls and RegenVest users. Focus Blast nails special walls like Hisuian Goodra and Blissey while also threatening Iron Treads. Grass Knot can be used as a more reliable option to hit Ground-types such as Garchomp and Ting-Lu, but Taunt allows Thundurus-T to beat Scream Tail, clearing a major roadblock for other setup teammates. Thundurus-T appreciates having Spikes support to pick up the OHKO on Hisuian Goodra without having to run Modest and to further weaken other RegenVest users such as Alolan Muk and Meloetta. Thundurus-T’s weakness to Stealth Rock warrants good entry hazard control, notably Quaquaval and Corviknight, which can pivot into Thundurus-T. Speed control from the likes of Hisuian Electrode and Regieleki is helpful, as Thundurus-T’s middling Speed leaves it prone to getting revenge killed.
