This is a team I made with Shedinja in mind. Originially meant to be an UU team, but it has fared much better in OU after I added Bronzong and Starmie (Over Grumpig and Claydol if you were wondering). And this change has worked greatly, 27-3, with 2 of those wins coming from me making a mistake and Rain Dancing with Kabutops when I shouldnt have. I won't be making that mistake again.
The goal of this team of the defeat any Shedinja counters and let him sweep it up. And it is very good at accomplishing this goal.
MY TEAM AT A GLANCE:
The Lead:
@ Damp Rock
Hasty
Ability: Static
EVS: 252 ATK/228 SPD/28 SP.ATK
~Thunder
~Rain Dance
~Explosion
~Taunt
This is a great Rain Dance lead...OU or UU. He first opening move is Rain Dance followed by Taunt (depending on the pokemon). Thunder allows me to attack without killing myself if the need should arise. Explosion really doesnt need much explaining...it is for going out with a BOOM. The Atk Ev's allow Explosion to kill ALOT of stuff, only one time has a poke survived his explosion, and that was a Mamoswine which survived with 12%. Damp Rock to extend the first Rain Dance.
The Physical Sweeper:
@ Life Orb
Adamant
Ability: Swift Swin
EV'S: 200 HP/252 ATK/56 SPD
~Rain Dance
~Rock Slide
~Waterfall
~X-Scissor
My physical sweeper. Life Orb is so he can replenish the Rain if he needs to (since he is normally the last surviving Rain Dancer). Waterfall and Rock Slide for STAB and X-Scissor for coverage. I am thinking of giving him more Speed Ev's for no reason than to just be safe. He hasn't been outsped in the Rain once...but you never know.
The Wall:
@ Leftovers
Relaxed
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252 HP/128 ATK/128 SP.DEF
~Explosion
~Rain Dance
~Stealth Rock
~Gyro Ball
Bronzong is a fantastic poke. He is able to take a hit (he has no weaknesses actually) and set up Rain Dance again if need be. Explosion is to go out with a BOOM just like with Electrode and Gyro Ball is for a attacking move that doesn't kill me (again like Electrode). Stealth Rock is incredible with this team, I don't remeber who the person I was facing was but when it came down to me only having Shedinja and his last 2 pokes...thanks to Stealth Rock...I won...never had to attack actually.
My Rapid-Spinner:
@ Leftovers
Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
EV's: 160 HP/216 SPD/132 SP.ATK
~Rapid Spin
~Recover
~Surf
~Thunder
Okay, on a team with Shedinja as the main focus, a rapid spinner is a must and Starmie covers that role perfectly. Starmie is normally (which means if my gameplan comes through) the last pokemon to come out before Shedinja. She rapid-spins and then does any last-minute sweeping possible, to make the job easier for Shedinja (if he even needs it at that point).
The Special Sweeper:
@ Choice Specs
Modest
Ability: Swift Swim
EV's: 4 HP/252 SPD/252 SP.ATK
~Ancient Power
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~Hidden Power {Grass}
Omastar has been able to sweep teams before Shedinja even comes out. After the Electrode and Bronzong get their job done, next to come out is likely Omastar (he sometimes comes out after Electrode). He then proceeds to sweep with 540 Sp. Atk and doubled speed. Surf is usually the move of choice, but the others are for coverage and if for some reason Omastar comes out late game he needs some other options.
The Star:
@ Focus Sash
Adamant
Ability: Wonder Guard
EV's: 255 ATK/255 SPD
~Will-O-Wisp
~Shadow Sneak
~X-Scissor
~Sword Dance
The Star of the team and the person who normally finishes the opponent off or sweeps the last 3 or 4 pokes from the team. Shadow Sneak and X-Scissor for STAB. Sword Dance to pump up his already decent ATK. Will-O-Wisp is mostly filler and if someone has a better idea I would appreciate it. Shedinja normally comes in on a poke that can't hit him and then Sword Dances on the switch, if there is no switch and the opponent has some negative reaction (FUCK, OH GOD DAMNIT, STUPID SHEDINJA WHORE are just some of the ones I have gotten...hell some people just leave the room) then I have won the game right then and there. Focus Sash is to let him get an extra SD so he can sweep more efficiently.
So, obviously this team is a lotta Rain Dance with a little Shedinja, but the fact that Shedinja normally ends the battle (and the fact that he has taken 6-1 to 0-1) makes him the star and focus of this team, easily.
I was going to post a battle log in here...but I dont know how to do it. So maybe later
so, RMT!!
