Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

It's been a while but I finally got around to hatching another batch of eggs. Out of 100 eggs hatched, I got a shiny Ponyta on egg #45 bringing my personal total to 2/400. I've already updated the spreadsheet and shall continue to do so for any more progress I make.

I just did another 200 which brings my total up to 800 and I finally got a shiny.

Ok I managed to hatch 30 eggs throughout the entire day while at work. Updated the spreadsheet and no shiny for this batch of 30 eggs. Breeding 6 iv JPN ditto with an American 5 iv whimiscott now.

EDIT: Shiny Squirtle at 167th egg!!! too bad it's missing the HP and Def IVs, but w/e, will continue to 200 and then change the Pokemon.

Sorry, haven't had much time lately for egg hatching. I will be hatching more though, as I'm going to be trying to get a shiny Pangoro for my friend soon (I have another friend who's giving me a perfect shiny charizard :D)

Batch of 150 eggs: no shiny

When I'm using a 6iv ditto or a couple from diferent species, I often confront a long shiny drought (my shiny ratio is like 1/600 eggs)... Very disappointing. So I decided to increase my flawless japanese pokemon collection and use them in my breedings. Got a perfect quiet honedge and tried this desperately:

Batch of 100 eggs: shiny at #56. (31/31/25/31/31/0)

It happened again! This is the Fifth time I get a shiny at <#100 using a couple with the same species. 3 times for this research (Gligar, mawile and now honedge). I want to believe that not using ditto increase your chances someway, I'm tired of shiny droughts, so I'll be using same species couples for the rest of this research. Some of you may say ditto doesn't affect, but my shiny trend says to me that something is happening there, not just random bad luck with dittos. Besides, 6ivs dittos are all hacked or generated by cheating, I really hate and don't trust that kind of pokemon :p

glad i could help you guys do some research but i can't do it anymore. keeping track of how many pokemon i hatch that aren't shiny drives me insane. best of luck with the rest of the numbers!!

I'm not sure what's going on with the spreadsheet, but someone messed with mine... all of the information is wrong next to my name. Fixing it now.

Finished hatching my 3rd batch (201-300), no shiny. In the middle of hatching my 4th batch.

EDIT: Updated post 349. Finished the 4th batch (301-400) with no shiny to be found. I'll be taking a break for a couple days; will post when I complete the fifth batch.

EDIT again: When I went to go update the spreadsheet with my fourth batch, all of the information by my name was messed up again. It's fixed as of right now, but I think someone's either messing with the spreadsheet, or putting their information by the wrong names.

After taking a break from MM SC breeding to get some more 6IV parents for shiny breeding, the first egg of my new batch of eggs hatched a shiny Buneary. ;_; This happened while I was being distracted watching anime, too. Imagine my face when I look down to see a pink-furred Buneary in all of it's majestic beauty. Sure it's missing a perfect 31 IV in Defense, but aside from that it's Female, in a Love Ball, has Run Away, and has the Elemental Punches and Fake Out as egg moves. It's the ideal candidate for remaking my Diamond team. At long last, the shiny drought has ended.

I did two. I did 200 eggs for phantump and hatched 1 shiny at egg number 58, I also did 200 eggs for Cyndaquil and hatched a shiny on egg number 129. Working on a couple other ones, not sure if this will help or not.

I've hit 2000 eggs now and I'll be taking a break from MM breeding. Perhaps after a week or two I'll extend the pledge again to 3000.
