Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

Annnd I got someone to hatch that Poochyena for me! Aaaah, he's beautiful!! /cries forever especially with his one-point-less-than-perfect IV's
It is a bit sad that it's not my own trainer ID and whatnot that he gets registered with, but, still worth it.

Back to business. I'll still hold off on the Eevee hunt since I was really only doing that for a friend who wanted a shiny FEMALE Eevee... He did get a shiny but it was male. Opposite of me, pffft. It's not like he's been insistent on it or anything, so I know he won't mind.

I'll move on to a Dratini right now... Whose egg cycle count will kill me.

I think this time around, I'll go in sets of 1000 instead(once I hit the 2000 mark, so this first new batch will be 855 eggs). If I REALLY want the shiny and don't obtain it after 1000 eggs, then I'll switch then return to it another time. Makes things easier.

450 more eggs, on top of the last 480 and no shinies in sight.

New totals are:
4247 eggs hatched, 4 Shinies

Edit: New goal is Shiny Jolly Mudkip no matter how many eggs it takes. Shiny Mega Swampert here I come!!
 
I have now hatched some more eggs, and I'm done for the day, with a total of 120 froakies hatched. No new shinies.

What I did get was a shiny heatmor, through wondertrade, while I was dumping my leftovers. It's my lucky day, I guess.

I really advice against that, dude. Doing batches this big is frustrating as hell. I'm doing a 600 cycle (when I don't get a shiny in 150/300/450) and it is frustrating. Try to make lower batches and you'll probably be more successful.

Hahaha, probably good advice to take, especially with how long Dratini eggs take to hatch. Alright, I'll try maybe a 500-egg cycle?

I use the 600 cycle because I fill 20 boxes (of course, after checking the TSV of the eggs on each 150 cycle) and then all I have to do is hatch them. Maybe you should try the 150 cycle, hatching everything and then moving on to the next batch. That's what I used to do before.

68 froakies (1 shiny)

that spread isnt bad at all, after you fully evolve him and ev trained him, at level 50 you will be
able to tell his ivs in special attack. hopefully yours is naive or hasty.
also you were very fortunate to get protean in 68 eggs. I got 2 torrent and 2 protean
and the last one was protean with 6ivs naive :)

He is timid, actually, because I have no intention to ever use U-turn on him.

And I dunno about the IVs. I'm a bit anal about my IVs, and every time he missed a KO by a few HP, I would blame my lazyness.
 
This is starting to drive me insane, not gonna lie. 1400 eggs without a shiny is pretty rough. Whereas my friends have been getting them all the time for just 40-100 eggs or so >_>

Maybe they should come on the thread to help out then! That is unless they are already here and I just look stupid saying this... Also, here are the results form last night. I was unable to submit so this is a tad late:

90 hatched 0 shiny bringing the total to 0/180

I did manage to get the egg move (baton pass), nature (jolly), ability (speed boost), nickname of KFC, and flawless IVs on one though, so if I never find the shiny I at least have that.
 
SHINY MUDKIPPPPP!!!!!!

I gathered a batch of 150 eggs and after the 4th one there he was, in all his purple glory. Miserable IVs with the only 31 being Def. but oh well I don't care.

I'm accounting for my 150 in this next update because I'm going to hatch them I just haven't yet.

Totals:

Eggs Hatched: 4397
Shinies: 5
 
Wow this has been an interesting thread to catch up on. Uhm ok anyways everyone's been updated. Including pokekid88. If that bothers anyone then let me know and ill gladly read what you have to say but he's staying on the sheet. And CONGRATULATIONS everyone we have reached our 1st goal of 200,000 eggs!! The shiny rate at this goal is 1:527!! A little over what we expected but still not to bad ^_^ ill update the sheet for our next goal of 250,000

What is the alleged MM rate w/o Shiny Charm? I know there's another thread on here mirroring ours testing the theory that the rate was in fact decreased in Gen 6 so it'll be interesting to match their results with ours.

Edit: Also, theres 151 participants in this research. Shoutout to Gen 1

Uhm im not sure. I dont do the sheet in that 1 but ill see what I can find
 
Just passed 600 eggs into a Supersize Pumpkaboo. Hoping at the same time for a 0 Speed IV one so I can try it on some trick room teams.

Yes!!! finally another shiny fleching and hes has gales wings and outstanding 4ivs.
After 722 eggs sigh. the first one had 3ivs and terrible speed, but gale wings too :)
 
Started a new project, made 300 eggs and BAM, SHINY FIRE BACON! Just got my Shiny Tepig! The bad part is that his HP is REAAAAALLY low. But I can live with that ^^
