Shiny Pokemon Experiences

Ever found a shiny Pokemon

For around a decade now, my personal record for the fastest Shiny I’ve ever found was a Friend Safari Whirlipede in two encounters (equivalent to 32 out of 8,192 adjusted odds). I can’t remember if I already said that in this thread or not, so I apologize if I am repeating myself. I mention this because I just got done playing some Legends Z-A tonight before I went to sleep and I easily just broke that record. This game doesn’t have the same kinds of encounters as old games, obviously, so instead, I’m taking into account the amount of time a Shiny hunt takes or, in this case the amount of time in between two different Shinies with the same odds as one another.

To my surprise, as I’m in a Discord call, I found a Skiddo in Zone 3 and one of those skittish overworld Fletchling in the span of, like, that had to have been less than five minutes apart, easily. Statistically, that marks the first day since August 7th, 2023 where I’ve found multiple Shinies in the same day- I believe that might not actually be a true statement, but I like to screenshot my Shinies on my Switch when I find them and I can’t find any examples of Legends Arceus or SV Shinies being found on the same day since then. And while Shinies are comically easy to find in this game, both of those other games I mentioned were not full odds situations like this was tonight. Just a fun little story I wanted to share with you guys.

Edit: So apparently only my first Shiny in this game (a Spinarak) I actually remembered to screenshot. Oops.

I apologize for the double post, but I promise this is going to… maybe be worth your time :smogonbird:

Last night I got two more Shinies, including a second Fletchling, making this recent run four Shinies in two nights at this point. This would be also be another record and with how Fletchling spawns work in the overworld, it’s not completely out of the question that I could be witnessing the start of a miniature Shiny Fletchling “dynasty run”, of sorts. Continuing the sports vocabulary, I still have not attained my first Shiny three-peat at the time of writing this post. I plan on playing more tonight to see if the streak can extend and if this game decides to roll more Shiny birds or not. If anyone’s curious, the Shiny that came after Fletchling number two was a Scrafty in Wild Zone 20, which means, yes, I have officially cleared the main game of Pokémon Legends Z-A. I’m don’t have much left to do outside of the battles to get the Shiny Charm but I want to see how many Shinies I get before getting the Charm as well.

I have.

Magikarp. I kept finding Shiny Magikarp! Or rather I found the first one pretty early on, so of course I added it to my team and it's now a Shiny Gyarados (and along with my Excadrill is the powerhouse of my team). The other two I actually found on the same day nearly back-to-back; now I was catching a batch of Magikarp to complete Mable's Water-type Research so I don't know if that's notable or not.

Other Shinies in ZA I found: Litleo (now a Pyroar part of my main team), Pidgey, and an Alpha Ampharos (which is good, cause I had added the freebie Shiny Mareep onto my team and it's now a Shiny Ampharos).
