[SICK - FINALS] Its_A_Random vs. Gerard

Rules:
Rules:
Bring 4, Pick 4 Singles.
You PM 4 pokemons to the ref, and the battle will be 4vs4 singles. You will choose your mons as the battle develop.
ASB Arena
Strict 48h Disqualification.
You will get FIVE warnings. After the 5 warnings, you go over DQ and you're done. Referees please tag the combatants when you have finished your reffing. Players, if you know you're going to be away you better post a Leave of Absence BEFORE you leave, or give a very good reason in case of an emergency.
4-day Disqualification for Refs.
3 Substitutions.
Turn Order: Coin Flip
2 Recovery/5 Chills per pokemon
All Abilities
All Items
Switch=OK
Mega Clause: 1
ORAS stuff: Allowed
I-HATE-CENTRALIZATION RULE:
Species banned are: Gardevoir, Dragonite, Pyroak, Mr. Mime, Kitsunoh, Snorlax, Greninja, Togekiss, Sableye.

(check the rules, some stuff changed).

WARNING: You have 4 days to PM the mons to the ref.
WARNING 2: This round won't have a strict deadline
WARNING 3: If the player don't send in the team before the 4-days deadline, (s)he will be replaced by the losing player from R4 that played the best.
As of now, that player is Dogfish44. If the team is sent and the guy is DQ'd without sending orders, then tough cookies, the opponent advances.
WARNING 4: Yes I know 5 DQ warnings are a lot. But that has a good part and a bad part. The good part is that DQs will happen less often (hopefully). The bad part is that you can be sure as hell that once the 5th Warning is given, I won't have mercy even this being finals. Also DQs are 48h instead of 3 days now.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, +10% / 19% [Mega] Accuracy, -1 SpA)
Type: Psychic / Fighting

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
  • Fighting STAB; Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.
Abilities: Steadfast / Justified (H) / Inner Focus (M)
  • Steadfast: (Passive) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.
  • Justified: (Passive) This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-Type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by another Pokemon's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.
  • Inner Focus: (Passive) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

This will be a good match to watch. Interestingly, both battlers brought Camerupt, Gallade, and Meloetta. Will IAR's choice or Necturna or Gerard's choice of Goodra be the deciding factor in this match?

...honestly, probably not, at least IMO. In matches like this, I think the biggest factor is which player... plays better. Also, who sends out first. SPEAKING OF WHICH

RNG Roll (Turn Order) [1 (Its_A_Random)|2 (Gerard)]: 1 (Its_A_Random)

Good luck to both battlers!

Mystra is the only pokemon I trust this battle to. It won't be a walk in the park but at least this way we'll not be in such a compromised position.

A rough start for Gerard, who makes the age-old mistake of using Counter on a Ghost-type. Necturna grabs an early lead, but I wouldn't count Gerard out yet. On the bright side for him, Necturna has become slow as molasses due to Gooey..?

Action 1:
Necturna used Super Fang!

Okay let's continue.

Shadow Claw > Return > Shadow Claw
IF
Acid Armour is used, AND Goodra is behind a substitute, THEN use Shadow Ball that action.
IF Acid Armour is used, THEN use Psych Up on the first instance.
IF Protect is used, THEN use Chill on the first instance.

I shall take a page from ED's book then...

With a bit of stalling and some luck with Sleep Talk, Gerard manages to negate the lead that IAR had seized earlier. Still, I wouldn't say Goodra is in a great position here, as both Pokemon are about equal in HP, but Goodra is starting to run out of energy...

This shall be interesting to say the least.

Dragon Fang
Mystra: Chill ~ Draco Meteor ~ Chill
* If Necturna uses Snatch when you are to use Chill then use Dragon Pulse, the first time, Dragon Tail, the second, & Fire Blast, the third, and push actions.
* If Necturna uses Soak & She's not behind a Substitute & She's not under the effect of Ingrain then use Dragon Tail, replace your next action with Fire Blast & push actions.
* If Necturna uses a Grass Type Damaging Combo & You're under the effect of Soak & You DON'T have Sap Sipper as your ability then use Double Team (2).

Gerard regains back energy while Its_A_Random sets up a Toxic Spikes trap and also poisons Goodra. Toxic Spikes are slightly underrated, though of course they're much worse than Spikes or Stealth Rock. But poison upon entry adds up significantly. Gerard has no way of removing hazards, so it's a safe play. But will it pay off?

Alright.

Chill > Shadow Claw > Chill
IF
(Damaging Dragon Combination) is used, AND you do not have a substitute up, THEN use Substitute (15 HP) that action, pushing actions back.
IF Focus Punch is used as part of a combination, AND Goodra is not behind a substitute, THEN use Cut on the first instance, Shadow Claw on the second instance, Cut on the third instance, pushing actions back.
IF Hyper Beam is used as part of a combination, AND you do not have a substitute up, THEN use Substitute (15 HP) that action, pushing actions back.

Have you ever seen a mad dragon. It ain't pretty. Ok, when it's Goodra, it's a little pretty.

Necturna stalls a bit to recover energy, but Goodra takes the chance to slug it repeatedly with Outrage. Goodra does take a bit of damage from a Shadow Claw and the poison inflicted upon it earlier, and is now confused to boot. That said, Necturna is very close to fainting, so I wouldn't really want to be either of these Pokemon right now.

k time to show who the superior Camerupt is.

Tormeldon (M) @ Rare Candy

Earth Power > Earth Power > Earth Power
IF
(Protective Move) is used successfully, AND you have not used Stealth Rock this round, THEN use Stealth Rock on the first instance.
IF Stealth Rock is used, AND you have not used Stealth Rock this round, THEN use Stealth Rock on the first instance.
IF you are struck by a critical hit, THEN replace all remaining actions with Earthquake.

Alright, let's see how much damage can we do.

A mirror match of Camerupt, but due to Toxic Spikes that Its_A_Random threw down before, his Camerupt has the advantage. Gerard chooses to fish for a different matchup, and as a result, Its_A_Random's Meloetta comes out!
