[OVERVIEW]

Aside from its decent bulk and its access to pivoting moves and Defog, Silvally-Dark struggles to stand out from other Dark-type setup sweepers and Pursuit trappers. Skuntank is far more versatile, provides more utility, and can also remove entry hazards with Defog; Spiritomb spinblocks, isn't immediately pressured by Fighting-types, and also has good utility options; and Absol and Alolan Raticate directly outclass Silvally-Dark because of their more useful abilities, their higher Attack stats, their access to a better STAB move in Knock Off, and the latter's secondary Normal typing. Unlike Silvally-Dark, all of these examples also have access to Sucker Punch to mitigate their mediocre Speed tiers. Silvally-Dark's inability to hold a damage-boosting item or Z-Crystal as well as its lack of coverage also holds it back.

[SET]
name: Pursuit Trapper
move 1: Pursuit
move 2: Multi-Attack
move 3: Parting Shot / U-turn
move 4: Swords Dance / Defog
item: Dark Memory
ability: RKS System
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With this set, Silvally-Dark can act either as a setup sweeper that can trap problematic Pokemon early on or as an entry hazard remover that pressures certain hazard setters like Mesprit and Roselia. However, Silvally-Dark does very little to separate itself from other Dark-type setup sweepers and Pursuit trappers; Absol, Shiftry, and Alolan Raticate are simply better setup sweepers despite their lower Speed and bulk due to their access to Knock Off and greater immediate power, whereas Skuntank completely outclasses it as a Defog user that also traps foes with Pursuit because of it providing more utility to teams as well as being more versatile and flexible.

Aside from its decent bulk and its access to Pursuit, Swords Dance, pivoting moves, and Defog, Silvally-Dark struggles to stand out from other Dark-type setup sweepers and Pursuit trappers what does this point mean? aside from having pursuit it doesnt set itself apart from pursuit users and aside from having SD it doesnt set itself apart from SD users. wouldnt it make more sense to say "aside from bulk and access to pivoting moves and defog silvally-dark fails to stand out from other setup sweepers/trappers"?. Skuntank is far more versatile, provides more utility, and can also remove entry hazards with Defog; Spiritomb spinblocks, isn't immediately pressured by Fighting-types, and also has good utility options; and Absol and Alolan Raticate directly outclass Silvally-Dark because of their more useful abilities, higher Attack stats, access to a better STAB move in Knock Off, and the latter's secondary Normal typing.
