One of the few Fairy-types in the RU metagame, Silvally-Fairy is able to act as a potent setup sweeper thanks to its good Speed tier, strong STAB attack, and excellent coverage to beat Steel-types and physical walls. The ability to check Pokemon like Passimian, Virizion, and other Fighting-types while providing good offensive pressure with moves like U-turn and Swords Dance is an amazing attribute that makes this Pokemon a very good pick for offensive and balanced team structures. Work Up boosts Silvally-Fairy's offensive stats, turning it into a very strong setup sweeper. Multi-Attack is an extremely hard-hitting STAB move that, when boosted, is able to deal massive damage to anything weak or neutral to it. Flamethrower allows Silvally-Fairy to break past Steel-types that can become overwhelming for it; 64 Special Attack EVs also allow it to 2HKO specially defensive Steelix after a Work Up boost. Flamethrower also gives Silvally-Fairy a super effective attack against the tier's most common defensive Poison-type, Vileplume. U-turn allows Silvally-Fairy to gain momentum and pivot out of unfavorable matchups to a teammate that can handle the foe more appropriately. Alternatively, Defog allows Silvally-Fairy to act as an offensive entry hazard remover for teams that need role compression, while Surf lets Silvally-Fairy break through some of RU's prominent physical walls, OHKOing Rhydon without any boosts and 2HKOing Mudsdale at +1.
Pokemon like Rotom, Alolan Raichu, and Passimian make really good teammates due to them forming VoltTurn cores alongside Silvally-Fairy. Pokemon that are weak to Fighting-types like Rhydon, Duraludon, Scrafty, Copperajah, and Steelix make amazing partners for Silvally-Fairy due to its ability to handle Fighting-types extremely well; Rhydon is particularly helpful because it can switch into Fire-types like Charizard and Salazzle that can freely switch into Silvally-Fairy. Similarly, Pokemon that are weak to Dark-types like Indeedee, Jellicent, and Alolan Raichu are also good partners for Silvally-Fairy, which can freely switch into Knock Off. However, Silvally-Fairy is less reliable against Pokemon like Drapion. Pokemon like Mudsdale and Passimian are able to handle Steel-types that would otherwise give Silvally-Fairy issues. Vaporeon's cleric and Wish support makes it a great partner for Silvally-Fairy, letting it last longer throughout the battle. Vaporeon also answers Fire-types such as Salazzle and Charizard. Pokémon like Braviary appreciate Silvally-Fairy’s ability to wear down Steel- and Fighting-types with its Flamethrower and Multi-Attack, allowing it to use Brave Bird more frequently.
