Simple fighting games

I'm looking for fighting games with simple controls, much like super smash bros., digimon rumble arena and dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi - all of these games are incredibly simple but fun to play. it's always something like one button to do a standard combo attack, another to do a special attack, one to guard and one to jump (though this differs slightly on the budokai tenkaichi games, it's still very simple), and to perform other moves you usually just press up+special or something.
I like but I'm not very good at those more complex (lol they ARE complex if you compare them to those other three) games like street fighter or soul calibur.
So, can anyone suggest me anymore games like those mentioned previously?

Have you ever tried M.U.G.E.N.?

It's a fighting game engine for the PC, which is completely customiseable. Characters, Stages, Screenpacks, everything can be made.

I could go on for ages, but I'm sure you'll be able to find out more via just googleing to be honest.

Hope I could help..

Yuu Yuu Hakusho: Makyo Toitsusen for Genesis fits what you're looking for pretty well, if you feel like trying it out on an emulator. It kind of feels like Smash except with no items or fancy stages and life bars instead of ring outs. It's in Japanese but there are only a few menus to figure out which aren't very hard. Of course it's even possible to netplay with other people.

Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution is simple, fun and well-balanced. There are two attack buttons, a throw button, two buttons for strafing left/right and the jutsu button (which in some cases is just both attack buttons at the same time). Combine with directional input for additional.

Bleach: The Blade of Fate is slightly more complex, but still pretty intuitive. Combos aren't set in stone, but executed by performing the normal attacks in quick succession. There aren't an overwhelming number of special attacks and they all have simple directional input and can be activated with any of the attack buttons (though their properties are slightly different depending on which button is used). It's very intuitive and special moves (particularly Specials) can be activated from the DS touch screen without any button input.

Jump Superstars and/or Jump Ultimate Stars are great games you could try out. They're in Japanese though so you'd have to use the useful GameFAQs guide to go through the game so you know the objectives. I did and it was a blast.

Have you ever heard of Custom Robo for the GC. It's a simple 3-D fighting game that gives you somewhat of a challenge. The story mode is actually pretty decent to say it's a fighting game. Overall, it was a pretty good game imo.

Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2! Awesome game, with very simple addicting controls and fighting sequences! I've had it for 2 years and I am still loving it and playing it. It's probably more addicting then Smogon, lol!

DBZ Budokai 3 is awesome. IMO even better than any of the tenkaichi games.

Also, once this:

comes out, I recommend getting it.

Yeah I agree with you. Budokai 3 is way better than any of the DBZ games they have released
so far IMO.

OMG, that looks so awesome. Is this game real and what system is it on? Damn, why didn't I hear about this sooner, LOL. I would definitely get it. :D

It's a download for MUGEN.

Oh ok. Yeah I've heard of Mugen, but I've never really paid attention to it. So in order to play Card Sagas Wars 3, I have to download the Mugen software and then download the game? Does anyone know the link where I can find Mugen and this game at?

Getting kinda off topic, but google mugen download and it'll be on the list. Yes, you must have mugen to play card sagas wars 3. It's basically a really, really cool mod. Card sagas wars 3 isn't out yet, and I don't know when it will be.

Ok Thanks for the help and info. I'll try it out today.
