Okay that makes sense.
BUT let me ask the other person this:
I managed to get lucky enough to hatch a SHINY 5 IV Calm Eevee, with Wish as it's Egg Move on my Y, and you want me to DISREGARD that in favor of a Pokemon I can't use in VGC Raiting Battles/Tournaments? Sorry but that is how it sounds.
Calm down buddy. There's plenty of stuff he could use in it's place, like uh... Dark Pulse?

It looks like a better Vaporeon than an Umbreon to me tbh. Vaporeon normally runs Bold, but Calm is def. usable.
Wish/Protect/Roar/Scald 252HP 252Def 6SpD good wish cleric + shuffler to rack up hazard damage.

If you're using it in VGC, you could replace Snarl with Helping Hand
Okay I guess I must very clear:
I want an OFFENSIVE MOVE. What is the best Offensive move. I can't stand running a Pokemon that ONLY has Status moves. It's just iratating to go up against. I don't do it on principle. Once again sorry for how rude this might come across.

Considered it. BUT it's in a Lux Ball. I was aiming for an Umbreon while breeding and got REALLY lucky. Plus Shiny Umbreon looks cooler.

I know, but Umbreon just doesn't have the offensive stats to pull off any real damage. 65/60 offences are just horrible, it's not going to be hitting anything with those stats. As Valzy said, it's really more of a support Pokemon, pair it with something like... I dunno, Talonflame. Something that already has crazy high offensive properties, and covers Umbreon's weaknesses. Helping Hand + Choice Band Brave Bird = gg.

Edit: Imma stop arguing and stop procrastinating the construction of my new trade thread. T_T

In VGC, Snarl would probably be best. In singles, maybe Dark Pulse.

LF someone who can breed Marine Vivilons that would be willing to do a request. I'm currently seeking a Timid 31/x/31/31/31/31 bred Scatterbug in a Dive Ball, but can't breed it myself since my Vivilons are Modern Pattern (and from my understanding, changing the 3DS's location doesn't change Vivilon patterns unless you make a new save.)

I would be willing to do any non-shiny Kalos breed for one, or can RNG most anything in Gen 4 (minus HGSS), Gen 5, and some Gen 3 stuff. PM me if you're willing to take up the offer.

Snarl? Use Heal Bell or Foul Play instead

Guys. Its a Kalos-bred Umbreon. Heal Bell is Gen 4 exclusive, Foul Play is Gen 5 tutor exclusive. The only Dark moves available to it are Payback, Bite, Dark Pulse, HP Dark, and Snarl.
Its Calm, so we can disregard the first two. HP Dark is.. no. Umbreon is slow, so flinching with Dark Pulse isn't doing much. Snarl completely fucks over every special attacker in the game that doesn't have Competitive, and White Smoke Torkoal (lol). Against physical / mixed foes, Dark Pulse and Snarl are both hitting for just barely enough damage to negate Leftovers anyway. The stat drops also encourage switching to rack residual damage in Singles, I imagine (I haven't done Singles since early Gen 5, so I don't feel confident giving advice there).
In doubles, Snarl hits both foes, and in most cases this is beneficial (breaking Sash/Sturdy, crippling Special attackers), even though there are bad cases like Justified, Contrary, and Defiant.
In short, Snarl makes Umbreon stupidly bulky on the special side, while Dark Pulse really does nothing as a base 60 Sp. Atk is going nowhere. I realize no one uses Snarl, but I've personally had a lot of success with it. In Doubles, Snarl is twice as dickish. :P
Similar to how a lot of things run Icy Wind over the much stronger Ice Beam: support over damage.

Other moves, you have a decent pick with Helping Hand, Taunt, Charm, Baby-Doll Eyes, Screech, and Toxic for doubles, singles, scratch off everything except Taunt. EVs, you could get creative with Speed or something but a standard max HP/Sp. Def spread would probably work just fine. I actually use a Calm Umbreon in Doubles now and again with Snarl / Wish / Protect / Helping Hand, with 252 HP, 4 Def, 252 Sp. Def and it's been fine.

I hope some of that is useful. I'm not aiming to argue, its simply opinion and some experience.

What you said. I agree with 100% Precent. I will do it. But I want to keep my troll movepool. Toxic/Wish/Snarl/Protect the same combo/setup I saw utterly troll an entire team single handly (including a Mega Mewtwo Y).

Surprise giveaway Part II

I'm giving away random 5IV mons, one per person. If you got one from Part I, you can get another one now :p
Some of them might not have the "best" ability, but all of them will have the right IVs. You can't choose what you get. You can request for them to be nicknamed. All will be male and all will have a random berry attached :3 All are in special balls except those that can't be in special balls.

PM me or leave a profile message for one :D I just need to clean out my boxes.

PS. Still looking for: Dream Ball Swinub, Gastly :)

Ending giveaway because I'm actually running out of mons ;p

I have an umbreon that I use, its calm and with max sp d and hp. And lawd lemme tell you.. that thing is a wish passer from hell. I absolutely love that pokemon on any team. You could prolly go with a +special d -sp atk and run payback on it. I think thats what it used before foul play. And it can pretty much take any special attack thrown its way (fighting and bug are its only weaknesses, which there isnt too many special bug and fighting attacks)

how do people get such good IVs on legendaries?

i've had x/y for a while now and i just went out and got platinum/black and white 2 to play and catch the legendaries to transfer over. How do i check if they have good ivs before SR'ing?

IV checkers, there's one in every game, and they'll tell you if a certain IV is flawless or not.

Write down flawless stats so you can compare the stats of the one you caught with the maximum possible stats right after the battle. (Oh, and leave one space in your party so you don't have to go back to the PC)

I just finished soft resetting for a perfect Mewtwo a little while back (albeit in Y, where it's much easier than in past gens) and I can tell you the process I used for doing so. Get a pokemon with synchronize and the nature you're looking for. Make sure you only have 5 pokemon in your party. Catch it, then input all the pokemons stats here:
That'll tell you all the IV's.

In previous gens though, I believe most perfect legendaries simply come from RNG abuse.

If you want to have them 5~6IV legendaries, I advise you look up RNG abusing my friend. However, in X/Y soft resetting is the way to go.

LF HA Goomy, ideally Calm female with reasonable IVs. I can trade female adamant Marvel Scale Dratini in Repeat Ball, DD Iron Tail Extreme Speed Aqua Jet and HP Atk Def 31s.

I have a number of females (5IV IIRC, premier ball, HA) not calm though. I believe they are modest. If you're interested, let me know
