I'm soo hyped for the upcoming release of ORAS, I've been thinking about breeding my dream team for my first playthrough. I *know* I want treecko (mega sceptile!) and ralts (gardevoir) to start with, at least, lol.

What do you guys think? Ya or nay? Are bred 'mons with good natures, IVs, and egg moves too OP for in-game (even if I trade them in as eggs, so no EXP bonus)? Or does it just increase the sentimental connection to your pokemon, having bred them yourself?

We aren't meant to discuss ORAS in this thread, but it's my personal opinion that breeding a team of flawless will make it too easy. I'm gonna make do with the Pokemon I get in the game.

Yeah, I forgot about the "no talking about ORAS" rule. -.- Good food for thought, though. :)

It's cool though, especially if you go with a theme. I remember Supe RNGed an Ice team for his HG run (I helped a little).

Still looking for someone to check my eggs SV guys (3 of them). Help a broder out

I dunno about sucker punch, seeing as he's getting a special attack boots. The others are solid imo
maybe if he a mix, but we'll see haha

Tutoring is easy, you can get shards really quickly by doing the "Find Shards" funfest mission. 10+ in 3 minutes

I like the way you think, lol. And, I *could* always choose not to use them after I've bred them...

Hmm, does anyone have an unburden treecko for trade? IVs/nature doesn't matter.

Oh, and TyVip, if you want a damp mudkip, I got one just recently off wonder trade with egg moves, so I can breed something for you really quickly (though, as derpy as damp is as an ability, I can understand why you'd want to keep torrent, lol).

what do u guys think of pinsir/mega pinsir in a safari ball? or premier ball?
i caught a pinsir in my emerald in a safari ball and transferred it all the way to XY to breed with it, cos i think it's the best-fitting ball for it. definitely safari.

EDIT: by fitting, i mean thematically mostly, though the colours are pretty good too imo (this is mostly for mega btw)

im doing exactly that in emerald rn. Can i learn any move tutor moves in emerald, diamond, platinum, HGSS, or BW?

double-edge could be good (gen III tutor), but i think most people prefer return

focus punch could be decent (gen IV TM), but i think most people prefer earthquake (and he learns close combat as an egg move in gen VI)

knock and stealth rock (gen V tutors) might be fun just to have lol.

but imo, it's easier just to make sure it has quick attack as an egg move and breed it in gen VI.
possible other useful egg moves: feint (for doubles), close combat if aegislash is not a concern (earthquake is generally recommended over close combat)

i would use return, but how do u increase happiness in this game?

Still looking for shiny gallade adamant or jolly 5-6iv with the moves knock off drain and ice punch ev training unnecessary level doesn't matter long as it's before 60 if not ev'd

If its bred, then just levelling it up to 50 will do the trick with no extra effort on your part. Befriending power, Soothe Bell, Massages, Vitamins, Luxury Ball, and EV Berries are ways to raise happiness (along with levelling up) but aren't needed for anything really. They CAN be useful for breeding things like Togepi that can't breed and need happiness to evolve.
