It is fairly easy to find the formula the games use to determine the chance you can run from a wild battle when facing a single Pokémon, with one Pokémon of your own currently facing it. However, there are two situations for which this formula will not work and I can find no mention of the procedure to calculate the escape rate in these situations, on any resource.

In a double battle (initiated in Dark Tall Grass) with wild Pokémon, or in Horde Battles, how is the escape rate calculated? Here, there are two opposing Pokémon and two of your own Pokémon. Is the same formula used, with some combination of speeds used instead of individual speeds, or is a different formula entirely used?

In any wild battle, if your Pokémon faints, you are given the opportunity to run instead of sending in a new Pokémon. In this case, you have no Pokémon—so there is no speed value to use for your Pokémon. What formula is used in this case?

I understand this is probably not common knowledge, but if there is anyone who knows how these rates are calculated (or how they could be found out), I'd be very grateful! Thank you!

[Sorry for the cross-post; I hope this is a better place to ask such a question.]

I think for wild double battles, it's the fastest Pokemon of both sides that determine whether you can run. I could be wrong though. For horde battles, it's probably the fastest of the five wild Pokemon vs. yours, though as the opponents' levels are half of what's normal in the area, it's rarely a concern.

If your Pokemon faints against a wild one, the fainted Pokemon's Speed is still used to determine if you can get away. I'm guessing this is the case, given how if your Pokemon was outsped and beaten by a Golbat you're still not likely escaping.

Honestly though, this sort of question is better off asked in the simple questions thread in the Orange Islands sub-forum.

Hiya, I'm looking for a female Amauru with her hidden ability, Snow Warning (spitback is fine). I've a perfect Mareep in a Level Ball on hand for trade, but if you're looking for something else, ask, I might have it.

Are we allowed to powersave the IVs of the parents we want to breed? I'm pretty sure it's no, but just want some confirmation on it.

Edit: Editing my post as to avoid double posting.

Is there a way to transfer a Pokemon from a ROM to a cartridge?

Hey i have a simple question about Alomomola.
The users who use her put all the ev points in the hp and defense stats, but Alomomola base hp stat is huge so maybe its wise to out the second half of the ev points on sp def?

My kingdom for a Zapdos. Specifically, a bold Zapdos with outstanding potential (max hp, def and speed at least). Cloned is fine. Just as long as its PENTAGON and legal to use in 3ds battle spot. Tell me what you would like and hopefully I have it! I'm sorry but I find the various trade threads a pain to navigate, I wish people would make them a little more simple, and also not so many images as I have a slooow ass computer. Also I'm not sure if the zapdos I've seen available are pentagon or even created legally. I'm not interested in anything that might not be legit. I have a celebi I'm willing to part with, as well as fully-trained shiny kanga and aegislash, but again I have lots of random stuff so just ask me please.

Oh I also have a kyogre in a dive ball and rayquaza in a nest ball, dunno if thats anything, but they match nicely

Wow so many. :/

What's its best set and role?
Depends on what you're gonna use it for..Adamant d dance is probably the most ou relevant set, but you can also run it more defensive.

For vgc/doubles pixilate hypervoice is its real niche so modest is preferred.

You can also run it as a cleric in which case the more defensive specially inclined natures are the way to
