What are the traits / qualities that make Magearna S Class? And what is it's best moveset and the best role it performs?

Its great typing in combination with a solid stat distribution makes Magearna already 1 of the very best Pokemon in the metagame, not only this metagame, but also past metagames too. It's solid movepool can pull the trigger on a wide variety on sets; even the Dual Dance-Sets have like 4 different Sets. Also with having access to Trick a Choice Specs set is incredible useful and its best set currently. It also earned new tools in Stored Power and Draining Kiss, where the former is excellent on the above mentioned Dual Dance Sets and the latter not only excellent on that set, but also helps Magearna gaining some forme of recovery. Furthermore Magearna can run other Sets pretty reliably too, such as Assault Vest and Choice Scarf for pseudo-speed control, and while not used I think a Cleric Set can also work with Heal Bell.
Also the amount of teams Magearna can fit onto is just insane, it goes from Hype Offense, to Bulky Offense, and even more bulkier builds. M

In overall: Magearna is a great versatile Pokemon with a great typing, really superb stats and a wide variety of movepool, which lets it excell all the traits perfectly mentioned above, hence it is a S-Rank Pokemon deemed for those which almost have no flaws.

And wt abt this EV Spread on Sub Spectrier?
  • 112 HP
  • 20 Def
  • 172 SpA
  • 20 SpD
  • 184 Spe
I'm assuming this is for Calm Mind Spectrier, in that case 112 HP and 20 Def makes sure that Spectrier's Substitute doesn't break after a Mandibuzz Knock Off, 184 Speed to outpseed Tornadus-T, 20 SpD to make a Shadow Ball from Blissey not break the Substitute after a Calm Mind boost and the rest is dumped into Special Attack.

Hope this helped!

edit: not fully correct look at ruft's answer next page for what the evs do

Close, but these EVs specifically are for Spectrier's Substitute to survive a burned Mandibuzz's Foul Play guaranteed (Knock Off breaks if Spectrier still has Leftovers but doesn't if not) in addition to uninvested Clefable's Moonblast after a Calm Mind boost (Blissey's Shadow Ball does slightly less). You're correct other than that though.

I’m not much of an OU player so forgive me, but why have Blissey and Chansey switched tiers?
The introduction of Heavy-Duty Boots have made Blissey a much better and consistent pick overall than Chansey. Chansey's biggest weakness is the fact that it is incredibly susceptible to hazards and its overreliance on its Eviolite, HDB Blissey has neither of these issues which makes it a better pick on a wider array of teams than Chansey, considering that Blissey doesn't care about losing its HDB as much as Chansey losing its Eviolite to Knock Off or Trick. Blissey is better on Balance and Bulky offensive teams whereas Chansey is better on stall teams due to its better bulk with Eviolite.

So the item get knocked off even whn I'm behind a Sub? Bcuz I thought it didn't.. So what I understood was that Knock Off would be 97.5 BP but it won't knock the item. Am I right..?

If you're behind a Sub, it doesn't knock off the item through the Substitute, it stays as the 97.5 BP until the item is knocked off, so when the opponent isn't behind a Substitute and gets their item removed.

Sorry if this is somewhere on the thread, but I'm curious if there are any good resources on how to teambuild. I've searched around on smogon and YouTube, so I understand a little bit. Mainly looking for a comprehensive and in-depth guide into structuring teams and styles of teams. Also, if anyone has any good advice, that would also be appreciated.

One resource no. You'll have to put the pieces together through the multiple resources in this forum which includes and are not limited to the viability ranking thread, ss ou bazaar (a good one to see why people choose certain things), Ben gay's archive, and the other random threads floating around. In-Depth guides are kind of hard to gauge cause metagames are constantly changing, things get banned, new mons are introduced, the structures of archetypes change, etc. I would probably just ask around specific questions when you need to since a comprehensive guide is a very open ended question subject to the person you're asking and or person explaining it.

Could someone provide some insight on Hasty vs. Naive for Mixed Attacker LO Chomp, and why one nature would be better over the other?
This is nothing that is really a perfected science, but I tend to run -SDef because you take a lot of U-turns and weaker physical attacks. Only common special attack you take is Heatran Magma Storm, so I prefer maximizing the physical bulk possible.

Thanks for your viewpoint. The SS dex listed Hasty but with no explanation why.

Has np hydreigon gotten better? I have been using it w dm,roost and ep and it has proved itself to be pretty good. What r ur opinions on it
Not really. I has limited coverage. You want Draco for having a strong STAB, Flash Cannon for Clefable, Earth Power for Heatran and Magearna, Flamethrower for Corviknight and Ferrothorn, Roost for recovery, and even Shock Wave for Tapu Fini. It's hard to be consistent with it, but it can still work

This question is related to Pokemon Showdown. If this isn't the correct place to ask it, my apologies.

I'm building a Gen IV OU team. The team was valid yesterday, but today I'm getting the following message "Smeargle's move Spore can't be transferred from Gen 5 to 4". Seems weird. Were there recent rule changes? I looked around and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Best to ask this in Ruins of Alph because it's an old generation or Pokemon Showdown if you believe it is a technical error.

I have ran specs keldeo on rain and it can Ko Clef, 2ko phy def pex and almost Ko rilaboom. Do you think its viable and would you use it Finch. I know this is not gen5 but it works for me.

It's viable on Rain, but it faces strong competition with Swift Swim users that are faster under the Rain such as Kingdra. It can work though.
At least is not hard wall by blissey and it is decent outside of rain, not mentioning that it can take one wicked blow
