Does Mega Kangaskhan prefer Adamant or Jolly? I figured since it's in the same speed tier as Palkia it would like to outspeed everything, but does it need the extra power to net some important KOs?

another question: are we going to be removing the pokebank/official tags since pokebank is now the official meta?
Um that's more technical than what most ubers mods can handle. It's kinda low priority so I'm assuming those tags will disappear whenever they disappear. (I guess we could edit all the threads to remove them but meeeeeh)

I believe mega kahn would enjoy adamant more than jolly because of its speed tier as you mentioned. The ability to outspeed Ho-Oh is pretty major, but the weather legendaries either wall you to hell or outspeed you with scarf/take 1 hit and make you nearly useless with specs. Genesect isn't as common and scarf is its only real set so that doesn't matter. Ray is just stomped by returns + sucker punch. I think jolly would only be more beneficial if you run pup or seismic toss, as just spamming those will either make adamant not needed as much or just 2HKO everything.

Jolly is better imo. Guarantees you to outspeed timid specs Kyogre, LO Xerneas, +speed Yveltal, timid specs Kyurem-W etc which is very useful in high level play. You probably miss out on some KOs, though (haven't made calcs on this yet).

Soul Dew does not appear to be in XY right now and items can't be transferred from BW2, so for now, it's unavailable.

Which set now for Kyogre? Timid-scarf or Modest-specs? What is the impact of the drizzle nerf to these two sets (if any)?
(currently playing through HeartGold to get one and transfer once/if-ever able to)
If both sets are still viable, I'll might just play through HeartGold twice and get both.

Also, for Timid-scarf, is 252-speed-EVs a must or is there a value that I can lower it to just enough and get some HP-EVs?
ie, lets say 160-speed-EVs allows me to outspeed a certain number of pokemon and adding any more will not bump up this number unless I go over 252 (which is impossible).
If there is such an ideal speed value, what would it be? I'm thinking, if it's low enough, I could even reach that speed with modest nature.

Honestly, both sets are very viable. It'll depend on the team which one you want, Drizzle nerf hasn't really hurt Kyogre beyond the CM sets.

Well, both phys def and special defensive Kyogre are really good in this metagame as well. So if want to go for a 3/4 Kyogre then getting calm+bold Kyogres would be a good idea.

What is a good EV spread for support Arceus-fairy?
252 hp 252 spe for opposing supportarc, 96 spe and whatever side you want to be bulky (100 base) , or 0 spe and invest whatever side you want to be bulky (all timid). Feel free to modify evs as you see fit.

Hey all. I have some questions regarding Yveltal, as I'm resetting for one atm.

I was looking at the Analysis in C&C. For the Taunt set, why ware Rash and Naive slashed as possible natures? I know it's a work in progress, but I would figure since Ubers is primarily special-oriented, Mild and Hasty would be preferred. So what "team needs" would prompt one to pick -SpD natures over -Def ones?

Also, between Sucker Punch and Foul Play, which move is generally more viable in Ubers? I'm inclined to think that with Foul Play, you might have trouble with Pokemon that have low Atk, but at the same time, most Ubers have more than average Atk stats, so Foul Play should still do a decent amount of damage. But Taunt + Sucker Punch also seems appealing, though the opponent can just switch to stall out its PP. Are there any specific threats where one move outshines the other?

Edit: It would seem that post 19 of that thread answers my first question for the most part.

I'm about to capture Yveltal in the game and I've been struggling with which nature I should go for. I want to run an Assault Vest Yveltal. I've read both the Yveltal thread and the Assault Vest thread bit I'm still undecided about the set.

I don't know if I should enhance SAtk for healing or SDef for bulk. I'm guessing that having to run all attacking moves it would benefit from the extra attack. I'm having also trouble deciding which stat to drop. Speed is always a good thing, I don't want it to lose any bulk and the fourth slot always seems to need a physical attack (Sucker Punch, U-Turn, Steel Wing...).

I like this set posted by NGC-2024 because it compensates the speed loss with Sucker Punch, but wouldn't Dark Pulse and Sucker Punch overlap a little? I'm also curious about the 4 extra EVs for SDef, does it make a difference?

Yveltal @ Assault Vest
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SAtk / 8 SDef
Quiet Nature
- Oblivion Wing
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Sucker Punch

1. Sucker Punch compensates speed loss for mons that are naturally faster than Yveltal, I would not recommend using no speed.
2. The extra 4 evs in SDef are to give Yveltal an odd HP number. This will give you one more switch in on Stealth Rocks.

Sucker Punch means Yveltal will be taking less hits overall. For example, Mewtwo (regular or Y) will rarely be able to Ice Beam you. Offensive Yveltal doesn't switch in on Mewtwo because even with neutral nature Ice Beam 2hkos, and Mewtwo won't be switching in on Yveltal in fear of Sucker Punch. Therefore, having a neutral physical defense nature lets you take priority attacks more easily.

If your team is really Ho-oh weak, Foul Play might be better. If your team is Mewtwo/scarfer weak, then Sucker Punch might be better. It is situational.

Hi, I obtained a Hasty Mewtwo in-game and I was wondering if there were any viable sets for Mewtwo X without tutor moves. I was thinking a mixed set with Psystrike and Stone Edge (for Yveltal and Ho-oh) but I'm unsure of what else to use since Aura Sphere vs Brick Break are kind of meh choices for STAB.

a bit confused; aren't calm/bold Kyogres CM sets? you said the drizzle nerf hasn't really affected anything beyond the CM sets (so ie. CM sets were slightly affected right?)
or did you mean calm/bold with just the moves rest, sleeptalk, scald, and roar?

I wanna use support Arceus-Rock with defog on my team, what kind of set and EVs are suggested. I guess physical defensive Arceus-Rock is the right choice here, to counter Ho-Oh or am i missing something? Something like this:

Arceus @ Stone Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
- Recover
- Defog
- X
- X

Aaand I wanted to use Aegislash on that team, too. A special defensive one, though I really dont know what kind of set and spread I'll choose, thanks for replys!

Judgment+Will o Wisp is standard. Arceus-Rock needs more speed to check slower E-killer variants, outspeed Yveltal and get some emergency defogs vs other Arceus. I usually run max speed Timid for that reason, but it's up for debate. A benchmark could be 96 timid for base 100s.

Specially defensive Aegislash might seem like an okay fit together with Arceus-Rock, but it really contributes to a big EQ weakness that you will have to be quite restraint on covering with your last 4 mons (i.e. generally don't run many more eq weaks than you got resists/immunes). Also Rockceus+Aegislash will tend to give something like sdef or even offensive variants of Kyogre many free turns- so you should keep that in mind when building with these two. For Aegislash's moves I'd go with King's Shield/Gyro Ball/Toxic and a filler which could be sball, sneak, sacred sword, head smash just to name a few. Good luck!

Are there any good youtube players that have a decent amount of ubers content. Also it shocks me is no video thread. Seems like video could be a great teaching tool, but seems be used les frequently than I thought they would.
