I'd find it pretty unlikely that Silvally-Normal would drop to PU. Something to keep in mind is that Silvally-Normal's Explosion is the strongest non-ate Explosion in the game. With Normalium Z, that means it can hit with a 200BP STAB followed by a 250BP STAB, which can be boosted with Swords Dance. I've tested quite a bit in OU and even there that thing can smash holes in teams easily, and usually at worst forced a trade. It's movepool is enough to work with the nuke 'n boom strategy, with Iron Head, Crunch and Fire coverage targeting its resists. Magnet Pull and Pursuit also gives it team options to eliminate Steels and Ghosts, making it easier to smash open the opposing team.

220 BP Stored Power + Adaptability Hyper Voice at a potential 458 speed is brutal and the +2/+2 defense boosts give Eevee actual bulk. HP Ground covers most of the limited Normal/Psychic resists (mostly just Steel-types by PU). To give an example of its power, Eevee's Timid Stored Power hits a bit harder than Glaceon's Modest Specs Ice Beam against a neutral target. Even though it has to have Last Resort on its moveset to use Extreme Evoboost and needs to find an opening to set up, this thing has all the coverage it needs in 3 moves.

If Wishiwashi ever does reach the depths of PU, I think it will be banned shortly after, because very few teams carry more than 2 checks to this.

Why is nobody speculating about a tier below PU? There's gotta be a place for Delcatty to shine. And I won't stop until there's a tier where I can use my favorite Pokemon, Toucannon, and win. I'm serious.

Also, Togedemaru is precious. Unlike the other electric rodents, he can paraflinch with Nuzzle and Zing Zap. Iron Barbs and Sturdy also give him niches over other Electric-types. He's the best electric rodent by far, well at least in a competitive sense. Aesthetically I love Emolga, but why am I talking about aesthetics on Smogon?

Two sets I've been using to moderate success. Both are paraflinching sets, the first one being bulky and the second one being a fast, hard-hitting, terrain-setting lead. U-Turn is necessary on both to pivot out against Pokemon immune to Electric-type moves and paralysis.

Of course, there will be plenty more wonderful Pokemon being added to PU besides Togedemaru. Oricorio is awesome, Lurantis is fabulous, and of course I will defend Toucannon until I die. Everyone is great. Every Pokemon deserves love. Peace.

Psych Up is pretty situational, but helps it to deal with Bulk Up and Curse mons such as CroMuk and can possibly find opportunities to grab SD/DD boosts to help it sweep. What isn't situational is Z-Psych Up, which recovers Regigigas' health to full and finally gives Regigigas recovery to help stall out Slow Start. Normalium-Z also gives Regigigas a 160 BP Breakneck Blitz it can use to take out a Pokemon just out of KO range. Edit: Realized something it can pull of now, if it gets a free sub it can easily sub down to 1% HP (if it needs to) then Z-Psych Up to heal itself on the turn the last sub is broken. At that point Slow Start is over and your Regigigas is at full HP. Still wrecked by phazing though.

Turtonator seems like a really cool mon with a surprising amount of versatility. I've cooked up a few sets that I think will be fairly decent for it to use.

Finally, a set that abuses Turtonator's high as hell defense stat (135) and its decent special defense (85). The EVs allow it to tank Offensive Roselia's Sludge Bombs, Offensive Tangela's Ancient Powers, etc. Pairs well with hazard removal as well as a special tank like Audino to help it survive longer+give it recovery in healing wish.

Not sure exactly what the best set would be, but it isn't hard to make this eat the tier's Psychics alive (Edit: Except Metang, but it really doesn't like Knock Off). STAB Pursuit, STAB Knock Off and STAB Poison Jab for Mr. Mime, and with the example set, they at best 4HKO (except Kadabra, which 3HKOs with HP Ground and takes over 100% damage from 40BP Pursuit, and Metang which 2HKOs with EQ) while Grimer at worst 2HKOs back (and usually 3HKOs or better with 40BP Pursuit). Poison Touch + Poison Jab also makes it really hard to avoid getting poisoned by it. 252+ Explosion can also take a big chunk of HP from things it can't beat. Plus it has a bit of priority with Shadow Sneak. Seems to me that it'd be phenomenal anti-Psychic support here.

Type: Null is out here being a fatter Porygon2 without recovery and coverage. What does it have to make up for this and not be a complete waste of space? Extra bulk, and the ability to pivot. At first, Type: Null's bulk doesn't seem noteworthy if its going to be competeing with Audino, which can heal passively and has wish, and Vigoroth with its extremely powerful stallbreaking capabilities, however Type: Null still makes a fantastic pivot in my honest opinion. 95/95/95 bulk is already good bulk but combo'd with eviolite it manages to dodge the KO from a lot, and I mean a LOT of mons, being able to dish out the yellow magic and toxic to handle some really powerful mons in the tier.

From the Calcs, you can get a glimpse of how it compares to the other specially defensive normals, specifically Audino and Vigoroth. It's noticeably bulkier, and while it lacks some of the utility of Audino or the stallbreaking potential of Vigoroth, what it does have is its pure bulk that in my honest opinion can fuel this thing to be a great mon, maybe on Semi-Stall, Stall, or Balance teams.

Provided you can keep rocks cleared, Vulpix-A can switch into special attackers, set up Aurora Veil and then promptly die. Encore can help a setup sweeper or Beartic/Sandslash-A (if they aren't taken by higher tiers) switch in safely, and allows Vulipx-A to abuse slow defensive Pokemon. Blizzard (or Freeze Dry if you want something for Swanna) scares out Special-weak Grass-types like Gourgeist and Tangela while also keeping Hippopotas from trying to switch in and stop Aurora Veil. Against anything not weak to Ice, Toxic is your best bet at contributing damage (stats are so awful). There's also a couple other options like Hypnosis or Safeguard for extra support and Ice Shard to contribute a little extra chip damage after it's done its thing.

Could make it really easy to set up combos such as Beheeyem Trick Room + Z-Psychic Terrain (+1 SpA boosted by Psychic Terrain with priority immunity), and provides a bit of extra chip damage/sash breaking as well. Hakamo-o also seems like an interesting teammate, since it's a possible DD sweeper that can run Overcoat so it doesn't take chip damage from Hail.

I think Dartrix is a really interesting mon due to its pure versatility. Its stats are alright for a potential eviolite mon. 78/75/70 defenses with healing. (no leech seed tho)
I know a lot of mons could potentially be leaving or joining PU so i dont really know what to calc but this mon does get a decent set of support moves

Dartrix has many options. Defog hazards and potentially beat stealth rockers with grass typing. ((252+ Atk Golem Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Dartrix: 198-234 (55.1 - 65.1%))
Depending on crits u could stall out with roost and possibly beat. Access to SD pass and NP pass is also very interesting. Lack of speed is unfortunate for passing but bulk could potentially be enough.
Able to limit set up with access to Haze is nice and lastly access to Light Screen and the underrated FeatherDance. Although I dont think this will by any means become a staple of PU i think it has an
oppurtunity to pull off a few different roles.

Turtonator seems like a really cool mon with a surprising amount of versatility. I've cooked up a few sets that I think will be fairly decent for it to use.

This set is built around setting up a shell smash and denting the opposition with your strong Fire Blasts, Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteors, and Focus Blasts for coverage. At +2 it can outspeed even Zebstrika so its not the slowest thing ever either. Makes for a decent late game cleaner/breaker.

Me and MB built a team recently utilizing SS Turt and i must say it has the potential of being an extraordinarily scary pokemon, the ability to actually tank quite a lot of hits as well as pivot into electrics,fires and weak physical attackers is second to none and the ability to outspeed the entire tier with a stab combo that hits near everything neutrally is fantastic (Carbink is the wall people) The only issue with the set you posted imo is Focus Blast which does virtually nothing outside of some Normal-Types which even then doesn't have nearly as much utility compared to Taunt, It just gives overall more utility capable of preventing other set-up,status,haze,phaze ect and you are simply more likely to click it rather then focus blast.

For those of you who do not know, Masquerain received a massive buff in gen 7 to help it compete with the other Quiver Dancers of the game, and while it still can't compete with, say, Venomoth or Volcarona, what it can compete with are the Quiver Dancers of PU such as Butterfree, or Mothim (lol). +40 BST (+20 SpA, +20 Spe) is massive for Masquerain as it allows it to both outspeed and outdamage Butterfree by 10 points, which when combo'd with its fantastic bug+nonstab water coverage means that it can do a number on quite a few mons in the meta. Scald is good utility, Hydro is good Coverage, and Air Slash is a good secondary stab option, it's all really based on the team+preference.

What makes this set stand out isn't just its incredible physical bulk or high natural speed but also it's amazing utility in Foul Play, Parting Shot, and Taunt. Foul Play makes up for the passive nature of the set. Parting Shot supports more frail teammates and can facilitate setup sweepers nicely, especially with all the switches this set forces. Taunt can let the set beat certain bulky setup sweepers, namely CroMuk and Quagsire. RestTalk makes up for Persian's lack of recovery and makes it a decent status absorber. 76 speed EVs allow Persian to outspeed max speed base 80s such as Arbok, Grumpig, Altaria, and Stoutland. Though this isn't necessary its a good benchmark to hit and Persian doesn't sacrifice much bulk to achieve it.

After asking around, I'm not sure if Persian will end up dropping to PU, especially if similar sets become popular in higher tiers. However I still wanted to showcase this interesting mon and keep my fingers crossed that this gem could drop to PU.

i will give my opinions on things i don't think are going to be PU:
A-raichu: if tapukoko doesn't get a ban, a-raichu will have a strong niche in OU, i'm not saying this is going to be OU(quagsire ended in PU last gen and it had a solid niche in OU), even if tapu gets banned, a-raichu is a better raichu that can beat special walls with NP +psyshock, also eletric terrain teams may be a thing in lower tiers and i can't see this powerhouse being PU.

A-persian: i've been using this, and it have a nice niche in OU with the z-parting shot set, another mon that is not going to be OU but will have a solid niche, also z-parting shot is too strong for PU, if the pivot set wasn't a thing, this would be a pretty solid PU mon with Techinchain + NP. but i'm pretty sure this is to op for pu.

araquanid: this shit hits harder than azumarill and have a nice bulk/defensive typing. definetly it's going to be in a tier higher than PU.

snowslash: i can see this being a solid NU mon tnks to abomasnow/vaniluxe running arround.

comfey: CM + taunt + priority recovery + priority Draning kiss is kinda op, i've beeing using it for a while and i think it's too much for PU too.

Sandslash has been dying off in usage in NU and is only ever rarely seen on low ladder team and hes been becoming less frequent since Hitmonchan and Kabutops drops (which seem like forever ago). I see this thing coming to us probably in the first tier shift on Sun and Moon (Pokebank meta of course). In my opinion it'll be fairly good here, as right now the only viable hazard removers that aren't weak to rocks are Vibrava, Lumineon, and Prinplup and those all being Defoggers means that they aren't as useful on webs/spike stack teams. Just some food for thought.

Yea Drampa is scaring. Desping the fact it's slow (which however means it can fits perfecly in Trick Room for example), its Sp.Atk + its movepool is just huge ; I'd say it's perfect if it even had Sludge wave/bomb to deal with fairies.
I was thinking about a yache berry set + enough EVs in Speed to reach +138 so you can outspeed base 50 mons. Yache berry + Berserk is a free +1 and then you can just nuke.

By the way, Solrock obtains Flare Blitz while Lunatone gains Power gem. Do you guys think it might slightly improve them ?

Crab is kinda different to these mons in that it has an amazing dual STAB with very high bp moves and perfect coverage with rock neutrality and usable resists. Its STAB combo is so good in that it hits a huge amount of physical walls in the tier super effectively- Gourgeist, Tangela, Vullaby, Relicanth, Stunfisk etc. So it's incredibly difficult to scout for, because it's not just heavily denting your physical walls if you switch wrong, a la the likes of Stout, Leafeon etc, it's straight up 1hkoing them.

Not only that, but its STABs are so high BP and its attack so high that resists simply aren't enough without good bulk backing them. Offensive ice resists like Floatzel, Ninetails, Rotom-F, Combusken, Rapidash, Cryo etc all are potentially 1hko'd after rocks by a band Ice Hammer, and then slightly bulkier offensive mons like Pawniard and Grumpig all take upwards of 70%. And then you get fat mons- metang takes 33% minimum, so that's a single switchin. Regice is taking 50%~ minimum. Probopass 40%. Politoed 50%. Really, the only things that take an ice hammer comfortably are the likes of phys def Mawile and Carracosta, both of which are easily 2hko'd by close combat. So really, you can just come in and click ice hammer and something is gonna die. And I guess that's all well and good if it didn't get any switchins, but with rock neutrality, nice Ice, Dark and Bug resists and decent natural bulk it can easily eat some weaker hits from more passive mons and even avoid the 1hko from offensive mons' STABs if it gets in safely- Floatzel can't 1hko with a LO Hydro after rocks, Rotom does like 60% max with thunderbolt, Stoutland is unlikely to kill with return without rocks up, Cacturne's LO energy ball isn't killing etc. Oh, and the fact that its STABs have no recoil really helps its longevity in a match.

Basically Crab has everything it needs to make it a big threat if it ever drops down here, which I kinda doubt it will due to how useful its Dual STAB is. But if it does drop, I predict it being a bit bork. Have some crab replays anyway though:

I've been trying alolan persian lately (in a theoretical-7gPU tour) tour and i came up with something Marogod already mentionned earlier in the thread : Z Parting Shot Alolan Persian
Although i've been using a more "defensive" set, it seems to be an amazing pivot that slow wallbreakers/set up sweepers might really enjoy. I Tried it alongside with crabominable and despite the sharing weaknesses it worked fairly well the few times it worked.

That brings me to the Crabominable point. Honestly some people have been underestimating it due to his poor defensive typing and his speed but the Fighting/Ice coverage is rly amazing (see the post just above mine), being able to put a huge pressure to a large majority of the stall builds (not to say to all) ; stalls having either altaria, vullaby or both as their primary fighting (monferno) check. I can see the choice band set being a huge threat to slower builds if it falls to PU, especially when paired to any pivot, in this case persian seemed a good choice

So I was testing this little guy out and I think it has potential to have a decent niche in gen7 PU. Poison/Fire stab hits everything outside of rock typing neutrally and base 77 speed and a decent spatk stat allows it outspeed mons in the base 80s like monferno and stoutland, while still doing good damage. I put hp grass on it for things like the golem/carracosta switches (as they're probably still going to be our go to rockers). Another two mons in addition to rock types that would give it problems are Vibrava/Gabite. Alternatively you could choose to run HP Ice on salandit and forgo hitting carracosta in order to hit mostly vibrava, who could potentially be a problematic mon due to its recovery option. This would still allow for it to 2HKO Golem as well. I found that its paper thin def/spdef stats leave much to be desired but I think that it can certainly find opportunities to come in on clef or things that it outspeeds and do enough damage to drop something (as not much can switch into one stab and take the other). I could see it functioning well in late game or on a spikestack team where mons that could normally switch in are weakened/pressured. Lastly, NP is on this set for the added function of sweeping if at all possible. I figured that it'd be unlikely of getting one up but on a predicted sack I could see this being feasible.

There is no reason to use Torracat over Ninetales or Simisear for that matter due to both having a better speed tier as well as coverage (Ninetales has Energy Ball+Dark Pulse/Psyshock,Simisear Focus Blast/Grass Knot) extra bulk is cute but not worth it.

The second set posted i really dont wanna comment on but alas. That set to put it bluntly is just horrible your only way of doing notable damage is overheat which not only has plenty of switch ins (fire resists are fairly common atm) but is very abusable when at -2. Whenever smpu comes out torracat may posses a niche but not only is it impossible to know exactly what that looks like its fairly unlikely we will lose any of our fire types in general and each one simply put has more going for it.

Edit - also yeah intimidate is unreleased and focusing on quag stall just for apeculation isnt all that solid when it likely will change come our ladder+new mons

Okay I typed this post out and it was way longer than I intended but hear me out.

Torracat could be good, but not as an all-out attacker in my opinion. I'm going to compare this mon to Monferno because they are very similar. Both have access to both Nasty Plot and Swords Dance, making them unpredictable when they come in. They both share the Fire typing, which all around isn't that bad offensively. However, that's kinda where the similarities stop. Torracat, while stat-wise is slightly better than Monferno, lacks two things: priority for offensive sets (why doesn't this thing get sucker punch) and reliable recovery for defensive ones. And though its speed tier is better than the monkey's, it still is outsped by several threats like Simipour and Floatzel and the only semi-viable Pokemon that Torracat outspeeds over Monferno are Articuno and non-scarf Rotom-F. Also, Monferno has the second typing of Fighting giving it a second powerful STAB combination and allowing it to take neutral damage from rocks, something Torracat cannot do.

However, I do think there could be an interesting niche to this Pokemon when Intimidate gets released (who knows how long that'll take). Most other Intimidate users would rather use their other abilities (Arbok using Shed Skin, Luxray using Guts, and Stoutland almost always running Scrappy). Rather than using an offensive Sub+NP set or...that scarf set, I think it'd be better as a defensive set. I came up with two sets that I think could be useful at some point.

EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 Spe OR 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
This set could be a useful way to shut down a lot of defensive set up sweepers with Taunt. Will-o-Wisp help deal with physical attackers, Flamethrower is a reliable STAB without any recoil, though you could use Fire Blast for more power. U-Turn is the last move so that Torracat can be a better pivot after switching in to take a physical hit. The first EV spread outspeeds Jolly base 60s like Pawniard (though you should never swap into that obviously because of Defiant) while maximizing physical bulk. The second outspeeds neutral base 60s. There are other things you can try to speed creep the loss in bulk is substantial.

Torracat @ Eviolite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Leech Life
- Flare Blitz / Fire Fang
- Crunch / Shadow Claw / Frustration
This second set is possibly the closest to an offensive set as I'd like to see. Torracat can function as a decent Bulk Up user due to Intimidate in combination with Eviolite. Leech Life is Torracat's only form of recovery outside of Rest, and with the buff this gen, it's not actually that bad. Unfortunately, it doesn't add a ton to cat's coverage other than hitting Grumpig better. Flare Blitz is your obligatory STAB (ONLY use Fire Fang if you're really worried about recoil). The last move is mainly filler, though Crunch is probably your best bet in my opinion.

Overall, I think Torracat could be a usable mon because of its defensive capabilities, but unfortunately we'll have to wait until Intimidate is released. The lack of priority and reliable recovery sucks a lot, but this is PU after all. Its unpredictability also could make it difficult to play around if an offensive set is played correctly.

tl;dr While it definitely won't be a game changer, once Intimidate is released, Torracat could become a nice niche mon and be very useful on some balance teams.
