It's that time, stat-fans -- the usage statistics for January! I'm not going to waste much time explaining the basic stats, since I am unveiling a new stats model this month here on the stats showroom floor. See below for a test drive...

These stats were gathered from 324,533 individual battles that were fought during the month of January on the Smogon Shoddy Battle Server.
Now to the new stuff... For all you stat junkies out there, get a clean needle and tap a vein, because these new reports are the kind of pure, uncut, stat drug that you've been waiting for! I've been working on these reports for a LONG time, almost since I first started posting stats. But, various other things have gotten in the way of finishing them. I finally took the time to complete them, and I'm really glad I did...

If not, then stop reading, and just go down to the next post and read the usage stats, noob. But, if you answered "Yes" -- then welcome to a little slice of heaven, because I've got those answers and more!
I counted the usage of every teammate of every pokemon used in every battle on every ladder. That's 3,894,396 pokemon usages, for those of you counting at home. Essentially, I generated thousands of full pokemon usage lists -- each list containing the teammates of a given pokemon species on a given ladder. I realize this is confusing, so I'll just use a real example -- imagine this question:
So what does this tell me? In simple terms, you can look at the "By Usage" list and see Blissey's most common teammates, listed in order. It turns out that on Blissey teams, Salamence is the most used pokemon (other than Blissey, of course). Here's the description of the other columns:
So, these stats can tell you quite a bit about team-building trends. For example, the minute a Blissey hits the field -- Skarmory immediately jumps up to become the 2nd most common pokemon in the OU metagame. This may be common sense to many players -- but now we have stats to back it up. More importantly, if you look through these stats, you will probably be surprised by some of the not-so-obvious trends.

I won't continue my explanation of the Teammate Stats here. I'll probably post more later. Particularly regarding the rankings, and the number of pokemon that I included in the reports. Teammate Percent - The percentage chance of the teammate appearing on a team that has Blissey
Teammate Rank - The ranking of the teammate, by usage
Overall Percent - The percentage of the teammate appearing in general usage. This is the same percentage as the one listed in the regular usage stat listing. I put it here for comparison sake.
Overall Rank - The teammate ranked with Blissey's other top teammates, but it is ranked by the Overall Percent
Rank Change - The difference between the Teammate Rank and the Overall Rank
Below the "By Usage" list, you will see a second listing of teammates called "By Change". This list shows the pokemon that moved the most in rank, as a result of being a teammate of Blissey. It shows the pokemon that rose the most, and those that fell the most. For example, you can see that Hippowdon and Skarmory are much more likely to be paired with Blissey than their overall usage stats indicate.
