I'm curious as to the optimal timeframe in which one can start building competitive teams. Say you just bought ORAS and started it up for the first time. Should you give the whole game a playthrough before worrying about grinding for "perfect" Pokémon? Understandably, there are lots of concepts to learn and Pokémon to memorize especially for competitive play. When should you commit to getting a team set up?
For me, post-game. Focus on having fun at first :)
Why think about breeding a competitive team when you haven't even finished the game and aren't able to get lots of good Pokemon, move tutors, and places to practice you'll probably want to try at some point?
To be totally honest; no.
The best one you have is your Adamant Ho-oh, but the 30 attack IV is suboptimal since you'd be wanting to invest in it, and the 29 speed is the same although Ubers Ho-oh doesn't invest in it.
Your Mewtwo, Latias and Thundurus' IVs aren't even correct. Any legendary caught in generation VI will have at least three stats with an IV of 31, so you'll need to double check their IVs with the IV checker. The Thundurus doesn't even have 6 stats listed so no one knows which ones are what....
Your Landorus has the potential to be good since it's Impish (a desired albeit sparse nature), but you settled for one with a SpD IV of 10! I know you got 'lucky' with getting a fourth 31 IV but that really isn't good enough..
Basically, over in Wi-Fi there is so much competition that people don't settle for anything less than 29-30 in a stat they don't invest in (and 31 in the stats they do invest in), in fact a lot of people subscribe to the #flawlessorbust mentality where they will go for nothing less than 31/31/31/x/31/31 on a physical attacker, or 31/even/30/31/31/31 on a Hidden Power Ice special attacker. In addition, there are already flawless versions of every Pokemon you have so far, so there's no point getting one of yours when you can get something better from someone else.
Sorry if I sound harsh, I'm just trying to be honest.
Like the others said you should definitely play out the game and have fun before doing any of that. You'll also need to collect all the mega stones you need as well as the TMs (there's a link in my sig for them hehe). At the very LEAST you should at least wait until you have the Mega Bangle (or whatever it's called) that let's you use Mega Evolution in-game since you can't use it in Wi-Fi battles if you don't have it (I found this out the hard way, lol).

The Wi-Fi forum is what you want! You can create your own personal trading thread there to show off all the stuff you have for trade, there's the Simple Request thread where you can ask for help or offer it to others, and the giveaway forum where you can nab yourself some sweet freebies! It's a really fun and friendly community and a lot of my friends are from there. I have a trade thread myself (the link to it is the purpley bar thing in my sig) so you can check that out to see how those work if you want
Moderators simply moderate certain sections of the forums, whereas Site Staff edit and cache stuff on the main site. In fact, you can even have Site Staff without a Moderator badge, the two aren't mutually exclusive

I find SRing really fun and like to come up with 'test' Pokemon for different legends / wild Pokemon, like right now I'm perfecting my plan for catching a good Relaxed Ditto in the Friend Safari :)

Yeah I've read the guide and I know how SR. It's just that I'm very impatient...
What sort of software? Is it what he uses to record video, to record audio, or something special with that roulette FFA? I think you would be better of asking in the comment section on YouTube, but if you want an answer here, tell us what it does at least.
It's hard to explain...you'd have to know the Youtuber to understand.
Could anyone tell me what they think the best matching ball is for the shiny fennekin evolutionary line?
I personally think the Heavy, Ultra, and Cherish balls look good.
Heal Ball and Repeat Ball, but I think you know this is a question better suited for the Wifi SQSR thread than here.
Heavy Ball is illegal for Fennekin period, and any event Fennekin (there was only one though iirc) in a Cherish Ball would be shiny locked. The one I can recall is nature-locked to Serious, which is a pretty bad nature anyway.
Excuse me, I'm a first timer here. I would like to get my team to be rated. However, I would only use this team in Gen III Battle Frontier, not competitive battling.
While the thread specialises in the Maison, people sometimes bring up past-gen battle facilities like the Frontier in the Battle Maison Discussion and Records thread for help. I'm sure you'd be able to get some help there. Unfortunately there isn't a place that specialises in the Frontier itself..

Actually, that's just one of the changes. This is the full list of associated IV changes for HP Fire, courtesy of a post by Mygavolt in some thread that's been dead for months that I still remember cuz my life is sad like that :'(
Associated IV modifications for HP Fire:
30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
30 HP / 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
30 HP / 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
But still, it is not possible to have 31 Speed IVs and HP Fire at the same time.
