Hey, how can I follow tournaments ? I don't understand how I am supposed to know when a match is taking place. I want to see some games from the world cup finals. Am I just supposed to look at the profile posts on the players' profiles to see when the match is planned ?

You can get pinged for games in the Smogon Tournaments Discord.
The language subforums were made for language PS rooms to host their events, especially in the context of tours awarding CAs needing to be hosted on the Smogon forums. If you're asking why there is not a space to speak on all Smogon things but in another language, you're probably looking for the PS chatrooms for those languages.
I would assume it is a method used to combat ELO Inflation, as well as preventing people from "sitting" on top of ladder and to promote activity
Does anybody know what causes this? I made a new alt and I can't type in any rooms or battles. Will this go away with time? I would like to use the axolloveslokix name.
It seems you're using a new name when you have another regular account. I'll expand on what a fairy already said and suggest using the /nick command (type /nick axolloveslokix) from your other account, it will transfer the autoconfirmed status temporarily. You only need to do this during the first week until the new account becomes autoconfirmed itself.
I have a Markdown file in Notepad that contains multiple words that, when clicked on, transport the reader to a link. Is there a way to transfer all the text of that file into a Smogon draft/post without losing the links of the words?
You'd probably need to Regex markdown to BBCode. The forum system isn't going to recognize/acknowledge Markdown at all.
You won't be able to change it, however I can remove it for you if you'd like?

I joined smogon a bit ago and had a habit of making my birthday the year 2000 so I didn't get prevented making accounts due to my age. I've just realised that my birthday here is down at the year 2000 when it's infact 2008. Whilst this is a small thing I'm not sure if that may cause problems down the line so am I able to change my birth year on here?
