I don't think OI really want most of those more casual Pokémon threads (tier lists or what have you) that come out of Smogoff. I've found OI to be fairly structured, with plenty of active threads that encompass a lot of different topics already.it's not like it's a huge deal for mods to move threads, but since it keeps happening there is probably a reason why
I don't exactly remember how xf1 was, but this is how xf2 actually looks like completely unmodified for comparison:i was thinking at first that the name "orange islands" is just not immediately obvious as the "come here to talk about pokemon" catch-all, but now that i look at the forum index i'm thinking it's bc the subfora descriptions are now hidden behind hovering your mouse over the forum title
So we've already modified it quite a bit in terms of the space each forum category takes up. I believe the forum description is also listed once you click on the forum itself, so it's not like hovering is the only way you can view the forum description.
Seeing as we've already modified the base xf2 style quite a bit, It's probably doable from a technical standpoint. I do think we'll continue to have this sort of problem regardless, as it's often newer users who make these sort of mistakes and probably don't spend too much time looking in to what's allowed and what's not (see the OU and various analyses subforums). It's also not the biggest thing to have to deal with as a mod + it's not like it's a structural issue where even experienced users are confused.anw i don't know if displaying the descs next to the forum names (again? isn't this how it used to be? idk) is doable in this format, or if anyone else has noticed the same/similar issues, but i bet we can figure it out if so
