Right now I have a few pet peeves with this game, hopefully it can be corrected.

-My nicknames are not showing up in the random battles
-My sh1t talking custom sayings are not showing up in the random battles
-The random battles are 2vs2 (can I do single?)
-The random battles are 4vs4 (can I do a full 6?)

Let me know if anyone figures out how to fix this stuff. Thanks =D

Random battles can be 3 vs 3 Singles or 4 vs 4 doubles. I've only toyed around with story mode, but there should be an option there.

The announcer isn't half bad, imo. He recognizes when things happen in succession, for example my Cresselia was asleep for the second turn and he said "Cresselia still hasn't woken up!", and another Pokemon used Calm Mind for the second time and he said "Pokemon is still raising their stats!".

I'm glad there is no 6 vs 6, because animations take awhile. Having said that though, the attack animations are nice. I'm starting to like 3 vs 3 better anyway. Less counters means more viable Pokemon.

My main problem though is that it doesn't auto level your Pokemon. No, instead it behaves like the Ruby/Sapphire Battle Tower and make all your opponents the level of your strongest Pokemon, but it doesn't touch yours.

I was wondering why my Palkia was getting 2HKO'ed by a Pidgeotto Quick Attack, and then I realized there was a 46 level difference between them -_-

And the CPU's levels were....

Someone said something about special pokemon in PBR?

Unless you can do something significantly different in PBR that you can't do in D/P, I'm not going to bother. I might be interested in story mode if the story wasn't the same regurgitated "Collect the gym badges, save the world from evil, and become Pokemon Champion!" crap.

That's not the story mode. I don't think that's ever the story in console Pokemon games... PBR is basically a glorified Battle Tower.

The special Pokemon are Electivire (with the standard moveset) and Magmortor. Also a Pikachu that knows Surf.

Colosseum and XD were "save the world from evil!", but didn't have champions or badges. Of course, very few people liked those games.

PBR is just battling. The special Pokemon is just a Pikachu with Surf, nothing too special.

Edit: D'oh! Forgot about the Magmotar and Electivire. Though they aren't special in any way x(

lol, so the game hasn't the famous auto-lv feature?
What was Genius Sonority thinking?

Each time I read something new about PBR, I hesitate more and more about buying it.

Electivire has Cross Chop and Ice Punch, but that's really all that's special about the two.

Oh wow. I was just on GameFAQs and saw the mayhem. All the kiddies with hacked Pokemans can't import their teams XD

I cant see droppin 300 bones for a 3d battle game. When Nintendo makes a 3d pokemon game that effectively captures the essence of the handheld games, then I'll buy it.

I wouldn't buy this even if I had a Wii. After beating the Colosseums, the only thing left is Wifi, which looks disappointing at this point. Basically buy it if you want random battles, the 3 gift Pokes [none of which are worth it], and to test your team against subpar AI. Oh and I guess if you are weird and want to see your Pokes in 3D. The fact they recycled XD models is such a huge letdown...

Pity i'm going to have to wait until sometime around Christmas for Nintendo to decide to release the game in the UK.

I want this game more then I ever wanted D/P, and only because I will actually be able to battle on wi-fi with it. Seeing as my internet finds it funny to block anything involving friend codes, yet allows random battles.

From YouTube videos i've seen this game does look great, story mode will be bland, but that's not why i'm going to get it and i'm sure a lot of other people aren't getting it for the story mode.

I thought about it for awhile, and I can't really see the point. It's just battling in 3D, and I don't even like the models they used for a lot of the Pokemon and trainers (Infernape's face makes me sad)

Sure, I guess it's nice to get some Pokemon, like Pikachu with surf, or whatever, and random WiFi battles are nice, but if I wanted to battle, I'd just battle a friend or someone here. Plus, I don't want to fight, say teams consisting of 6 Mewtwos. It's inevitable.

Plus, I just miss everything Stadium had. Minigames and Gym leader Tower and minigames. I'll wait for the price to drop to $20.

That's a great way to test if a Pokemon is hacked or not. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, I'm a hacker, and in Pokesav, there is no data for where it was caught in it's original game, just the game it was caught in. Strangely enough, it has Pokemon Movies up to 16 (10 isn't even out yet in Japan), and it has Johto among catch locations. There's a seperate variable for it's home game, which is how it knows if it came from Sapphire, Ruby, FireRed, etc. Among those, though, are listed Gold and Silver o.0
Apparently some guy hacked PBR and found the filter. It has data for Pokemon imported from Ruby Sapphire FireRed and GOLD AND SILVER. Does this mean we may get these games? Who knows

My only complaint is that you cant do custom dialogue in random battles. I was planning on what to say for weeks. Something so vulgar and offensive, yet humorous also.
But other than that, the game is great, I recommend it.

Okay, I fought my first battle and stuff. I used my since I haven't gotten around to training a full team of six (I just have empoleon, Staraptor and Torterra) I threw Heatran, Dialga and Azelf on there with fresh-caught moves and stuff. I didn't intend to use them, but the opponents don't know that. :P

I was kinda sad that the catchphrases and stuff didn't apply to online stuff :( I had my guy going KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN when he sent out his first pogey since I couldn't think of anything, but looks like it didn't matter.

My first online battle was against some... person, I guess, who was newish and (I found out later since I got his battle pass) only had pogeys at about level 35-ish. Kinda what I expected, but I overanticipated and my torterra got sleep'd. Before that, though, I got lucky with quick claw and destroyed his alakazam. Which he totally wasn't expecting. Not much to brag about, but I was laughing maniacally.

ANYWAY, if you want to change from double to single battle, you have to click on the place where it says "Battle Style" or something and "Double Battle" is right below it. Strangely enough, double battle is set to be the standard, which made me go WTF. But once you figure it out it's easily changable.

Since I never got collesium or XD, I wasn't too let down by the re-used models.

I just got it today like so many others. So far the only thing I don't like about it is the lack of Auto saving (always taken for granted) and Neon Colosseum's hax bullshit. Other than that it's all goooooood stuff.

Wifi hasn't been attempted yet because I can't trust my shitty DSL connection. I'd be DCing left and right.

No one seems to have answered this yet..

In single player mode, if you have lvl 100 Pokemon, will it auto level them down to 50 and vice versa? And what about in wifi battles?

And most important of all...you can turn the announcer off, right? God I hope so..

I have a Wii but don't really want it. All the n64/GC Pokemon games I have disliked so far, so I don't see how this will be an exception.
