Resource Solomods Megathread

Name of Mod: Multitype

Link to changes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qb60VWG8ZJR1hn1oER_ocRQOIWYjZE-FP6IMctv6ezI/edit?usp=sharing

Summary of the Mod: In this 9v9 National Dex Doubles OU meta, players build with 9 Pokemon (use boxes instead of teams in the Showdown builder) featuring every type in the game (barring Stellar). So this means all Pokémon must be dual type and none of them can share the same type. Essentially it's having all 18 types in the same team. Regarding Megas, only the ones that share the same type as their base form are allowed. Every other rule remains identical to NatDex Doubles OU except that Z-moves are allowed, some pokemon unbans (refer to the spreadsheet), and sleep clause implemented. And of course Tera is banned because it defies the concept of Multitype. Note all type changing moves/abilities/items (eg: Burn Up, Forest's Curse, Protean, Altarianite, etc) EXCEPT for Roost are BANNED) Players will have to expertly manage what types are taken by what Pokemon as to ensure a cohesive and powerful team.

Competitive Overview: Since you have to build with every type, you really need to be careful about any overlap and what types you’re left with. The latter part especially as to not leave you with either shitmons or unusable type combos. And thanks to there being 9 mons per team, even as a Doubles meta, hazards end up becoming quite important to ensure progress and limit certain mons. This also implements the necessity of having hazard removal, either with defog or spin. Additionally, bulky archetypes are far better in this format due to games lasting longer, but offense is incredibly strong too. So far, we’re still testing out some stuff to see if things should stick or not like Genesect and Last Respects. The community so far has been cooking up some pretty interesting sets and teams like:

Announcement
The following in relation to the format is happening and I'd like to make a new post about it, as well as update the OP to reflect these changes.

We now have Resources!!!
We now have Sample Teams and a VR for 33v 3.21, as well as having a better challenge command. Huge thanks to AthenaStrive9, sheepie, Nintindall64, fungaii, Grounded and ferretman1 for help on these resources.

These resources are available here as well as in the OP.

The Beta version of 3.3 is released!
With help with the remaining council, I was able to push out a beta version of 3.3. It's not the current format quite yet, and we still have some things to go over, but its ready to be played with some of the biggest issues in 3.21 being addressed, such as the domnance of Rain over the format.

Hopefully this new update, despite not being fully released, can help revitalize the format in a new and fresh way. You can check it out here.

leader of the solomods subforum finally fills his second solomod slot after over two years, incredible

I already gave the spiel about having a million unreleased solomods back when I dropped Stadium YB and somehow the problem got even worse. Partially because at many points I didn't have time to maintain a metagame (on top of whatever other Pet Mods stuff I was doing), partially because a lot of my ideas are far from beginner friendly, and partially because I just move on from ideas really quickly (even this one took awhile to release, as it's been ready-to-go since like February lol). But this very simple idea actually stuck for me and I think will make for a compact and fun metagame to get into while I work on future projects, so I'm hoping that you'll give it a try, even if it's in a generation that Pet Mods haven't really explored yet.

Name of Mod: Best Wishes from YB
Mascot (Optional)::reshiram:
Link to Changes: Spreadsheet
Summary of the Mod: This is a Gen 5-based micrometa where only Pokemon introduced in Gen 5 are allowed, with most of them being rebalanced in an attempt to make most, if not all, FEs viable. This idea was directly inspired by a previously discussed Pet Mod idea from years ago by Yung Dramps and AquaticPanic called Perfect Unova that would've been very similar (I did get permission from Aquatic to release this). Some universal adjustments have been made as well, namely a nerf to Gems and an overhaul of Freeze, but everything else follows Gen 5 mechanics. Best Wishes from YB is already playable on DH.
Competitive Overview:
Rules
Species Clause: Limit one of each Pokémon
OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned
Moody Clause: Moody is banned
Evasion Items Clause: Evasion items are banned
Evasion Moves Clause: Evasion moves are banned
Endless Battle Clause: Forcing endless battles is banned
HP Percentage Mod: HP is shown in percentages
Sleep Moves Clause: Sleep-inducing moves are banned
Swagger Clause: Swagger is banned

Banned Pokemon
(A later section goes more in-depth on my thoughts on the banned Pokemon)
:kyurem-white:Kyurem-White
:reshiram:Reshiram
:zekrom:Zekrom
+ All Pokemon not from the Unova Region

Banned Moves/Items/Abilities
Assist
Baton Pass
Hidden Power

King's Rock
Razor Fang

Shadow Tag
Only the most major changes are listed here, a full list can be seen in the spreadsheet linked above.

Mechanics
:vanilluxe:Snow:vanilluxe:
Replaces Hail, works exactly as it does in Gen 9. Snow Warning and the move Hail now set Snow.

:kyurem:Freeze:kyurem:
Has received a complete overhaul, with the following changes:
- No longer immobilizing the afflicted Pokemon
- Affected Pokemon now lose 1/16 of their max HP at the end of every turn (1/8 in Snow)
- Affected Pokemon take 30% more damage from attacks (basically, every attack against them gets a Life Orb boost)
- Pokemon can still naturally thaw out of freeze, but the chance is now only 10% per turn
- Other methods of thawing out still work
- Fire-types are now immune to freeze
- The Snowball item has been added to the game and inflicts freeze when flung - this is the only guaranteed way to inflict freeze
- Facade is now boosted by freeze (and sleep) and Synchronize now activates if the Pokemon with it is frozen
These changes remove the uncompetitiveness of freeze while still making Ice-type moves scary for walls come in on, since the damage boost + chip damage might get them in range of an unexpected 2HKO.

:stunfisk:Paralysis & Confusion:haxorus:
Paralysis and confusion now work like they do in Gen 9, except that paralysis still lowers Speed by 0.25x. This, along with limited Steel-type options and strong Dragons like Haxorus and Kyurem-Black, is why Outrage has been nerfed to 100 BP.

Moves
:mandibuzz:Defog:braviary:
Now works like Gen 6 Defog, removing hazards from both sides of the field - While this is a crazy change to make on paper, it's actually quite low impact, since Defog options are extremely limited and the options that do exist (mainly Mandibuzz, Whimsicott, and Braviary) all kinda suck. Thus, hazards remain strong if you're not using an Excadrill to get rid of them, but you have a few new options for teams that absolutely need hazard control.

:musharna:Teleport:liepard:
Now switches the user out - DryPass: The Move, was originally supposed to a change to Baton Pass to unban it and add some more pivoting options, but I couldn't figure out how to stop Baton Pass from passing volatiles, so I put the changes on Teleport instead and gave it Baton Pass' distribution. This is why weird stuff like Liepard and Scolipede get the move.

:heatmor:Swallow & Spit Up:garbodor:
Both of these moves now have effects when you have no Stockpiles:
Swallow - Now heals 1/3 of the user's max HP when the user has no Stockpiles, 1/2 at 1, 2/3 at 2, and all HP at 3.
Spit Up - Now has 50 BP when the user has no Stockpiles.
This mainly serves to buff Swallow, now being a decent recovery option for Heatmor and Garbodor.

Items
:normal gem:Gems:normal gem:
Gems are unbanned, receiving a big power nerf, going from 50% to 30%, but in return they now also give the affected move an additional effect. Some notable ones include:
:dark gem:Dark - Removes the foe's item after dealing damage - Probably the best gem effect since its effect is uniquely permanent, turns 1 Dark move into Knock Off. I'd say that this is the second best gem overall and will probably be the most common one.
:steel gem:Electric, Poison, Ground, Rock, Steel - Lowers the foe's Evasion/Special Defense/Attack/Special Attack/Defense by 1 stage - These five gems all lower stats, with the best of these being Poison and Steel, as these normally awful offensive typings can be used to force switches or bust through walls with their defense drops.
:flying gem:Flying - Gives the foe the Telekinesis effect - This effect isn't terribly strong, but the Flying Gem will always have a use-case because of Acrobatics, though it's also kinda nice to guarantee hitting a second Hurricane after managing to hit the first one.
:psychic gem:Psychic - Gives the foe the Heal Block effect - Longer Psychic Noise on any one Psychic move, can similarly force walls into awkward positions like Poison and Steel Gem.
Additionally, Unnerve now prevents Gems from activating

:light ball:Light Ball:light ball:
Now works on Emolga, which, along with a stat overhaul and minor movepool buffs, makes Emolga into a fun glass cannon.

Abilities
:seismitoad:Speed-boosting Weather Abilities:sawsbuck:
With all 4 weathers present in the tier (more on that later), finding a way to unban the likes of Chlorophyll and Swift Swim felt like a good opportunity to further shake up the weather metagame, so they all been unbanned but with a couple changes:
- Chlorophyll, Sand Rush, and Swift Swim now only boost Speed by 1.5x in their respective weathers.
- Slush Rush now exists and also only boosts Speed by 1.5x.
- Drilbur and Excadrill no longer have Sand Rush
These give weather teams good forms of Speed control but said Speed control is only as strong as a Choice Scarf, often still requiring abusers to run Speed boosting natures, lest they get revenge killed by Scarfers naturally fast mons, being much more along the lines of Protosynthesis Speed-boosting in Gen 9. Plus, without Sand Rush Excadrill, the wielders of these strong abilities aren't particularly crazy, with the best for each weather being Seismitoad, Sawsbuck, Stoutland, and Beartic, who all have multiple other faults that keep them from being overwhelming, or even automatic inclusions on weather teams.

:cryogonal:Snow Cloak / Sand Veil:krookodile:
These abilities take a page from VaporeMons and now make the Pokemon immune to indirect damage in their respective weathers, instead of increasing Evasion. They remain niche but really nice to have to avoid damage form hazards or Life Orb.

:excadrill:Sand Force:landorus:
Excadrill also got its other weather ability nerfed, as Sand Force now only boosts the power of Ground, Steel, and Rock moves by 1.2x in Sand instead of 1.3x, making Excadrill and the unbanned Landorus much easier to handle in Sand.

:genesect:Download:genesect:
Genesect is unbanned, needing multiple nerfs to to do so, with one of them being Download. Now, the stat boost goes away at the end of the next turn, which makes it harder for Genesect to snowball after getting the right boost. This encourages its VoltTurning playstyle, but (spoiler alert) with Genesect getting a massive Attack nerf, said playstyle is much less powerful.

Future Gen Abilities/Moves
Along with the aforementioned Slush Rush, a couple future generation abilities and moves have been added as either unique buffs or flavor to a few mons
:samurott::leavanny:Samurott & Leavanny get Sharpness - Samurott also now gets Sacred Sword
:swanna:Swanna gets Gale Wings (Gen 7+ version) - Swanna also got a big HP buff, making it a niche Keldeo answer
:bouffalant:Bouffalant gets Fur Coat - Along with some stat rearrangement and movepool buffs, Bouff now serves as a decent blanket check to physical attackers
:eelektross:Eelektross, Emolga, and Stunfisk get Parabolic Charge, which is now a 65 BP Electric-type Draining Kiss clone - Mainly here to buff Eelektross as a bulky set up mon, since it also now gets Calm Mind
:cobalion:Cobalion gets Tachyon Cutter - Steel is still a bad offensive typing pre-Gen 6, but Tachyon Cutter's notable power jump compared to Flash Cannon makes it a great option on Coba
:terrakion:Terrakion gets Mighty Cleave, which is now 65 BP and no longer makes contact - Had to add this if I was adding Tachyon Cutter, you won't use it over Stone Edge but it exists. You'll find out what Virizion got in the next section, as it's definitely not Psyblade
:cinccino:Cinccino gets Tidy Up - Adds another niche hazard control option with some (literal) sweeping potential
:sawk:Sawk & Throh get Upper Hand - Added solely for Reversal Sawk shenanigans, since Upper Hand makes it so that you can't get revenged by priority if you win the mindgame
Probably the absolutely biggest change I made was adding weather setters for all four weathers, retaining Gen 5's iconic weather wars. While weather-less teams are perfectly viable and powerful, most teams will want to opt for a weather setter, so you'll want to know what you'll be working with.

SAND
The Setter

:bw/gigalith:
Gigalith @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock / Toxic
- Protect / Toxic / Gravity

Gigalith @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock / Toxic / Explosion
Gigalith gets Sand Stream from its Gen 7 buff, along with its slight SpD buff from Gen 6, now serving as Tyranitar's replacement in this metagame. Gigalith is fairly lacking in options and pure-Rock isn't great, but it boasts great all-around stats aside from Speed and adequate utility in Stealth Rock, Toxic, and even Gravity to keep it from being deadweight. It's also the slowest weather setter, giving it the advantage on a double weather lead. Through my playtesting, I'd probably say that Sand is the best weather and most all-around weather, having both great abusers and a solid setter.

The Abusers
:bw/excadrill::bw/landorus::bw/stoutland:
Excadrill - While lacking Sand Rush, Excadrill is still one of the best Pokemon in the tier and an amazing Sand abuser, thanks to the amazing offensive utility it yields with its great power, bulk, and typing plus Rapid Spin, helped by Sand Force boosting its STABs by 20%.
Landorus - Landorus has been unbanned with significant nerfs, with a new statline of 89/115/80/105/70/101, the loss of Sheer Force for Cloud Nine, and Sand Force's nerf. Despite all of that, Landorus remains one of the most powerful offensive mons in the tier, which just gets further boosted by Sand activating Sand Force.
Stoutland - Definitely a step down from the two top tier Ground-type behemoths, but Stoutland is the only Sand Rush abuser, so its ability to provide Speed control on dedicated Sand teams while still hitting pretty hard is much appreciated.
Other Abusers - Anything immune to Sand chip works on Sand teams, particularly the always good Ferrothorn and Reuniclus, as well as the unbanned Genesect as a pivot that beats Grass-types for your Ground-types.

RAIN
The Setter

:bw/basculin:
Basculin @ Choice Scarf / Choice Band
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Final Gambit / Aqua Jet
- Crunch
- Superpower

Basculin-Blue-Striped @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic
- Taunt
Rain teams are forced to use the lowly Basculin, who I'd say is by far the worst weather setter. However, I'd still say that Rain is the second best weather thanks to how great its abusers are. Plus, it's not like you're playing 5v6 when you choose to bring Rain, since Basculin can still do some things. Scarf Basculin provides nice Speed control without having to use Seismitoad and makes for a good revenge killer, Banded Basculin hits hard and lures Ferrothorn in to smack it with Superpower, and Defensive Basculin makes re-setting rain more consistent and baits in Keldeo checks like Jellicent and Musharna to annoy them with Toxic + Taunt.

The Abusers
:bw/keldeo-resolute::bw/tornadus-therian::bw/seismitoad:
Keldeo - Keldeo has gotten a number of nerfs (discussed later) but still remains a terrifying attacker, made scarier by Rain boosting its Surfs and Hydro Pumps to insane levels.
Tornadus-Therian - Torn-T has also gotten a bunch of nerfs (most notably losing Regenerator for Trace) but it's still faster than most of the metagame and Gen 5 Hurricane is still a crazy move, so being able to click that to your heart's content is great.
Thundurus(-Therian) - The best Electric-types to click Thunder with, while also providing Rain teams with a useful Grass resist.
Seismitoad - The best Swift Swimmer, while its Speed tier is middling and it's quite weak, having that free 1.5x Speed while providing a ton of role compression for Rain (Speed Control, Hazard Setter, Ground to block Volt Switch, Wallbreaker, etc.) makes Seismitoad a great option.
Other Abusers - Rain is pretty open for options, aside from Fire-types for the most part, but Genesect and Ferrothorn deserve obvious shoutouts since Rain means that they don't have to worry about Fire moves as much. Both Jellicent and Amoonguss are nice as Keldeo checks as well, since your own Rain buffs it.

SUN
The Setter

:bw/heatmor:
Heatmor @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain / Solar Beam
- Will-O-Wisp
- Swallow
Sun's setter is Heatmor, who's received the biggest overhaul of all the weather setters. Not only does it now have recovery in the buffed Swallow, but it has a completely new stat spread that's a rearrangement of Durant's stats, being 58/48/109/109/112/48. This makes Heatmor a fairly sturdy defensive piece for Sun teams, letting you stack the rest of your team with offensive options. Sun is overall pretty middling, both in terms of its setter and abusers, but still very potent in the right circumstances.

The Abusers
:bw/virizion::bw/volcarona::bw/sawsbuck-winter:
Virizion - Cobalion got Tachyon Cutter and Terrakion got Mighty Cleave, so what did Virizion get? Psyblade wouldn't make sense, so instead Virizion gets Solar Blade as a signature move. But, instead of regular Solar Blade, it instead is 80 BP but raises the user's Attack by 1 on the charge turn, making it a physical Electro Shot in Sun. With Virizion's high Speed and sneakily good typing, it becomes a scary sweeper in Sun that naturally threatens every other weather setter, making it hard to stop once it gets going, though it has to actually get going first.
Volcarona - Volcarona is still a pretty big menace and expectedly loves the Sun boosting its Fire moves to nuclear levels. However, Volcarona's Speed has gotten a massive nerf down to 75, meaning that it further appreciates Sun weakening Water moves for it, since it often needs 2 Quiver Dances to outspeed everything it needs to.
Sawsbuck - It's a bit of a competition between Lilligant and Sawsbuck, but I think the latter is the best Chlorophyll mon. Swords Dance makes Sawsbuck a scary sweeper in Sun, with Double-Edge/Horn Leech/Nature Power (which becomes Earthquake in Gen 5) covering most of the metagame, or you could even run a Jump Kick or a Fire-type Natural Gift to nab Ferrothorn.
Lilligant - Lilligant is also still worth talking about, since it's quite powerful, can sweep with Quiver Dance, or support the team with Healing Wish.
*NEW* Maractus - I heavily underrated this thing, its stats are extremely middling Leaf Storm/Weather Ball nukes like 90% of the meta it's hilarious, might genuinely be the best Sun Abuser.
Other Abusers - Strong Fire-types in general are great in Sun, with the best aside from Volcarona being Victini and maybe Simisear, and anything weak to Water also appreciates the Sun.

SNOW
The Setter

:bw/vanilluxe:
Vanilluxe @ Choice Specs / Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Ice Beam
- Water Pulse / Ice Shard
- Flash Cannon
I might be wrong about this once the meta gets real play, but I personally think that Vanilluxe is the best weather setter in a vacuum. While its Speed and Rocks-weakness are poor, the nuclear power of Specs Blizzard is undeniable, even shredding through many resists to it. However, as a full archetype, Snow is definitely the worst of the weathers due to its lackluster dedicated abusers. Still, Vanilluxe's role as one of the strongest wallbreakers in the entire tier make it quite worth using, just don't expect to base your team around the weather it sets.

The Abusers
:bw/cryogonal::bw/kyurem-black::bw/beartic:
Cryogonal - The best dedicated Snow abuser. Snow Cloak allows Cryogonal to ignore its Rocks-weakness if Snow is active, making it a good spinner for Snow teams. Plus, Cryogonal now has its Gen 7 stat spread, a new Ice/Dark-typing, and Nasty Plot, making it a pretty good sweeper at the same time.
Kyurem-Black - Kyurem-Black is great in and out of Snow, but Snow allows it to take its power to next level by letting it opt for Blizzard over Ice Beam. The Defense buff from Snow also improves Kyu-B's already great bulk, giving it much more longevity.
Beartic - Despite a number of buffs, Beartic is still pretty unimpressive since it's so slow, but it's worth mentioning since it's the only fully evolved Slush Rush user. However...
Vanillish - Vanillish now has Slush Rush and also got a whopping +1 Speed buff, which allows it to hit 360 Speed, which is extremely important since that lets it outspeed Serperior, who's a menace. Vanillish is quite weak and frail, so it's more of a meme than anything but a fast Blizzard is a fast Blizzard.
The Best
This section briefly goes over some of the best Pokemon in the tier that I've found through my playtesting.

This will mainly focus on stuff that's both very good and have gotten significant changes, so while I won't talk about them, do note that the following Pokemon are all very good as well but either are unchanged or got minor changes:
:landorus-therian::ferrothorn::haxorus::terrakion::jellicent::reuniclus::kyurem-black:

:bw/genesect:
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Bug Buzz
- Flamethrower / Thunder

Genesect @ Leftovers
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- U-turn
- Bug Buzz
- Flamethrower / Thunder / Ice Beam
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Thunder / Ice Beam
Genesect has gotten some significant nerfs and yet is a contender for the best Pokemon in the entire tier. Along with the aforementioned Download nerf, Genesect lost all of its Speed-boosting options and, most importantly, its stat spread has been completely changed. It now has the stats it had in the earliest Beta version of Black & White, being 91/90/106/130/106/77. You might notice that these are literally Heatran's stats and it took me an embarrassingly long time to also notice that, I'm not gonna lie to you (this is also probably why, in Beta V1, Genesect had Flash Fire as well). While a significant nerf, since being slow and having a way lower Attack stat makes its patented Scarf U-turns much worse, these stats are still very good, so it's no surprise that Genesect is still great, mainly serving as a bulky pivot for offensive teams that can be quite threatening if it manages to get a SpA boost from Download. Very splashable and effective, and definitely on my radar for further nerfs.

:bw/landorus:
Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Force / Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn / Superpower

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Force / Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot / Psychic
Landorus lost Sheer Force for Calm Mind and lost 40 BST, having a new statline of 89/115/80/105/70/101. In spite of all that, this thing is still a crazy strong wallbreaker, with Life Orb-boosted EQ hitting like a truck in and out of Sand, U-turn hitting Grass-types that resist it, and having Swords Dance, Stone Edge, and Superpower to mess up other checks to it. It's also still pretty fast by this metagame's standards, so you might find yourself in the scary situation where it outspeeds most of your team. At the very least, it's pretty frail (despite a great defensive typing) and there are a good number of good Pokemon that can outspeed and revenge kill it. Still, this is also on my radar for nerfs.

:bw/serperior:
Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Substitute / Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Leech Seed / Glare

Serperior @ Light Clay
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Glare / Taunt
This Pokemon is like 99% of the reason why Hidden Power is banned. While almost completely incapable of beating Steel-types, Contrary Serperior with Gen 5's 140 BP Leaf Storm is an extremely scary sweeper, especially since it still has a great 113 Speed tier and Glare for possible cheese. Keep your Grass resists healthy at all costs and you should be fine. Also definitely on my nerf radar.

:bw/unfezant:
Unfezant @ Leftovers
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- U-turn
- Toxic

Unfezant (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Iron Head
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Unfezant has had the craziest history of changes while this mod was in development, rivaled only by Tornadus-Therian. This thing has had its stats, typing, and especially abilities changed like 5 times, it's insane. Unfezant is now a Flying/Steel-type with 92 HP, 115 Atk, Brave Bird, and Steel STAB in Iron Head. All of this makes it the quintessential Steel Bird, built specifically to be a splashable answer to strong Dragons like Hydreigon and Haxorus, while also handling the likes of Excadrill, Landorus, and Serperior. Its only huge weakness is that its special bulk is pretty awful, especially since it can't comfortably invest into it since it becomes way worse into SD Lando or Haxorus, so pick its battles carefully.

:bw/keldeo:
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
- Surf

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Toxic
- Protect / Substitute / Taunt

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Taunt
Keldeo has gotten a couple stat nerfs, getting its SpA lowered to 119 and its Speed lowered to 97 (the other Musketeers also had their highest stat lowered to 119, but the others have 107 Speed), making it a little easier to wall and much easier to revenge kill. Still, Keldeo is an absolute demon, either smashing things apart with Rain-boosted STAB, or completely turning the tables on its usual counters with Toxic + Protect or Substitute.

:bw/musharna:
Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
- Moonlight
- Teleport
:HyperSharna:
Musharna has gotten 3 huge buffs that make it one of the most splashable defense pivots in the tier, in the earlier discussed Teleport, Cloud Nine, and a +10 HP buff. Cloud Nine + its Psychic typing makes Musharna an easy to use Keldeo answer, while Cloud Nine in general just an extremely useful tool on a defensive Pokemon in a weather war meta, letting Musharna either check or pivot on stuff like Virizion in Sun and Seismitoad in Rain. This also means that its recovery move, Moonlight, never gets weakened by non-Sun weathers. Musharna is still extremely passive, mostly relying on Toxic to deal damage, and gets owned by Toxic itself, as Heal Bell is hard to fit.

:bw/tornadus-therian:
Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb / Chesto Berry
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane

- Heat Wave / Focus Blast
- Taunt / Rest

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Taunt
Tornadus-T lost Regenerator and has a new stat spread of 79/105/85/105/85/121, making it a bit weaker than before (on the special side, anyway) and having no where near the longevity it used to have. Even so, it still has a good enough SpA and elite Speed, plus the terror that is 120 BP Hurricane, making Torn-T the premier fast revenge killer in the tier. You have to be much more careful in using it, since either it'll die in a couple interactions or you'll be forced to use RestoChesto to keep it healthy, but those drawbacks are well worth it. It's basically the Dragapult of the tier.

:bw/zekrom::bw/reshiram::bw/kyurem-white:
Aside from everything outside of Gen 5 being banned, the only banned Pokemon are Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem-White. I currently don't have plans to unban them, as adding 3 more strong Dragons that all easily beat Unfezant and 2/3 beat Ferrothorn/Genesect feels a bit dangerous, considering how good already existent Dragons in KyuB, Hydreigon, and Haxorus are. It's a bit of a shame too, since Reshiram would add a new strong Fire-type to the tier, which it lacks, and Kyurem-White would be a good buff to Snow.

If I were to free these Pokemon, they would likely need some slight movepool nerfs (since all 3, especially Zekrom, have pretty bad movepools by box legendary standards), nerfs to their signature moves, and the following stat spread nerfs I've theorized:
:Zekrom: 100/140/120/100/90/90
:Reshiram: 100/100/90/140/120/90
:Kyurem: 125/120/80/120/80/95 (nerfed for symmetry)
:Kyurem-Black: 125/160/90/110/80/95 (nerfed for symmetry)
:Kyurem-White: 125/110/80/160/90/95

These would be balanced for the most part, but I'd imagine that Kyurem-White would still be pretty broken, as absolutely nothing is gonna wanna take on a mon with 160 SpA and Dragon/Ice/Fire coverage in Gen 5, very likely needing further nerfs that would end up gutting Kyurem and Kyurem-Black in the process. Even still, if this metagame does get enough play, I can definitely see myself freeing these three at some point.
This section is made up of Pokemon I think are cool but aren't quite at the level of the ones in the above section.

:bw/archeops:
Archeops @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 236 Atk / 20 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower / Earth Power
- Stone Edge / Power Gem / Taunt
- Stealth Rock
(run max spa + timid if you only have special moves)

Archeops @ Choice Specs
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Power Gem
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

Archeops @ Choice Band
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-turn
Archeops got a litany of buffs, including Brave Bird, Superpower, Hurricane, and, most importantly, a change to Defeatist. The ability still sucks, but now it only lowers Archeops' Attack at under half of its HP. This opens up potential mixed sets that can hit hard on both sides of the spectrum early and still hit hard specially after getting chipped. Rather expectedly though, I've been the best off with sets that focus on one or the other, since you either have a crazy strong physical breaker for part of the game, or a decently strong special breaker for the whole game. I've also realized that Archeops makes for a great lead, having the fastest Stealth Rock in the tier and the ability to offensively threaten every hazard remover with its STAB and Fighting or Ground coverage.

:bw/watchog:
Watchog @ Choice Band
Ability: Tinted Lens
Happiness: 0
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Frustration
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
I really like Lokix, so I turned Watchog into Lokix. Tinted Lens + STAB Extreme Speed is extremely self-explanatory, makes for the strongest Speed control option in the tier, letting this Route 1 Rodent put the fear of God into mons that have double the stats it does. Oh, and don't worry, it doesn't get Swords Dance anymore, Watchog of all things imitating Arceus would be blasphemy.

:bw/zebstrika:
Zebstrika @ Life Orb
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Nature Power
- Flare Blitz
- Volt Switch
Zebstrika got one of the funnier buffs, as I realized that the Unova Pokedex lacks good things faster than both Keldeo (before I nerfed its Speed) and Tornadus-T, so I gave Zebstrika a ton more Speed to get it to 137, comfortably zooming past them both. Along with Nature Power (AKA Earthquake), Zebstrika is basically the Zeraora of the tier, being super fast and fairly strong but still frail. There are a good number of mons that Zeb can't really touch, namely Lando-T, but if you need a Speed control option that's actually fast, Zebstrika is a great choice.

:bw/zorua::bw/zoroark:
Zorua @ Choice Scarf / Eviolite
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play / Night Daze
- Memento
- U-turn
- Trick

Zoroark @ Choice Specs
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Night Daze / Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
- Extrasensory

Zoroark @ Life Orb
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Night Daze / Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Extrasensory
Both Zorua and Zoroark got some pretty neat changes. First, both take a cue from their Hisuian forms and are now Dark/Ghost, which allows Zoroark to fill the role of a fast Ghost-type that Unova lacks, and also being the second thing in the dex with no weaknesses (though Zoroark is still extremely frail). Second, Night Daze has been changed to have the same BP and Accuracy as Dark Pulse, but instead of lowering Accuracy, it now removes weather if it hits, giving weatherless teams some funny and proactive counterplay to opposing weather, but not being strictly better than Dark Pulse so you can still use the latter on weather teams. Lastly, the biggest elephant in the room if you looked at the Sets already, Zorua now gets Imposter, filling the role of a Ditto. You'll usually want to run Scarf as your usual Imposter revenge killer, but since Zorua is Eviolite-compatible, you can go for that as well, though its 40 HP means that you're still pretty frail either way.

:bw/meloetta::bw/meloetta-pirouette:
Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- U-turn

Meloetta @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Meloetta @ Choice Specs
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Relic Song

Meloetta @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Relic Song
- Close Combat
- Shadow Claw
- U-turn
It figures that I would add a way to use Meloetta-Pirouette, but instead of the usual route of making it transform on switch-in with an item that we've seen in a bunch of mods, I decided to buff Relic Song itself to make transforming less of a hassle. Relic Song is now only 60 BP and no longer has a sleep chance, but it now has +1 priority and becomes physical if the user's Attack is higher than its SpA. This makes Relic Song a great move in both forms and makes transforming consistent, since the move will almost always go off first, which lets you safely transform in front of the Dark-types (not named Zoroark) that Melo-P is supposed to beat. Plus, you can also just slap a Choice Specs on Melo and use Relic Song as a revenge killing tool due to how strong of a priority move it is. Oh, and Meloetta also gets Rapid Spin now, making for a decent alternative option as a hazard remover.

Other Cool Things
:druddigon:Has gotten an overhaul, now being Dragon/Ground and having recovery in Roost. Makes for a great bulky hazard setter on teams that need a Ground with better longevity than your default options in Excadrill and Lando-T.
:darmanitan-zen:Zen Mode now activates on switch-in, regardless of Darm's HP, allowing you to use Zen Darmanitan as a nice Trick Room breaker.
:garbodor:The other mon that benefits from the buff to Swallow, Garbodor makes for a nice wall with that + slight buffs to both of its defenses + a new ability in Unaware.
:maractus:This got a bunch of buffs, with a new stat spread (75/60/91/106/67/76), Weather Ball, Leaf Storm, and Recover, plus buffed Sand Veil, all things that should technically make it a good Keldeo check for Sand teams or a strong Chlorophyll user as the only one that can beat Ferrothorn without setup or an item slot, but I haven't tested it much.
:sandile:Now has Arena Trap, which is very funny. It mostly sucks but Sash + Counter can actually be very effective at sniping Choiced physical attackers, can trap Gigalith for Sun teams if it gets a free switch-in, and it can even trap defensive Excadrill since it outspeeds it.

6/13/25 - Metagame is made live
6/15/25 - Egg move capability bug fixed, Mythicals can now freely be shiny
Hello! I'm talking about one of my own solomods instead of doing section leader stuff for once, as Best Wishes from YB is going to be a part of SoloPL this year! (still don't know how that happened)

With the occasion, I've come with some quick balance changes, mainly to address two issues that came up in playtesting, being Serperior and the how strong spinblocking is
:serperior:Serperior will lose 5 SpA and 10 Spe, and gain 15 Attack (new stats: 75/90/95/70/95/103) - Serperior has been a demon since the metagame started, and big reason for that is its goofy Speed tier, so now you have a lot more options to stop it from sweeping your team, namely Terrakion, Tornadus-I, and Zoroark, while Serperior is still a good option to slow down or revenge stuff like Landorus-I or Keldeo. Also gets a very slight power nerf to make boosted Leaf Storms a smidge less lethal.
:escavalier:Escavalier now gets Gyro Ball and Rapid Spin - A little meta preview for anyone new to meta and is looking to play it in SoloPL, it was recently discovered that Air Balloon Zoroark (who is Dark/Ghost here) is shockingly an extremely effective spinblocker, since all the tier's spinners either can't touch it without teching stuff they don't want (SpD Excadrill, Throh, Meloetta) or just suck (Klinklang, Cryogonal, Carracosta), making it really tough to remove hazards against it (even with Gen 6 Defog in the game, since its users are also pretty weak by design). Making Escavalier a Spinner adds an option that can comfortably damage Zoroark, making the Zoroark user weary of switching it in, while Zoroark can't touch Escavalier unless it drops Focus Blast for Flamethrower, which worsens its matchup into SpD Excadrill and Dark-types like Hydreigon. Zoroark will still be a good spinblocker, but now the Zoroark user has to make more choices both in the builder and in game. Gyro Ball is an extra buff to make Escav less passive as a defensive mon and better offensively if you're running Trick Room or something.
:mienshao::meloetta:Mienshao and Meloetta now get Healing Wish - There was a realization that Healing Wish was actually super uncommon in the Gen 5 dex, so I've added it to a couple mid tier mons to both give them a boost and make the option more available to the offense and balance teams that might want it.
:simisear:The Simis gain +4 Atk, SpA, and Spe (new stats: 75/104/63/104/63/106) - Mostly an extra buff to some bottom tier mons, namely to give them a much better Speed tier as glass cannons, while the boost to their offenses simply gives them an even 515 BST. Simisear is the biggest benefactor here, as it was already the fastest Sun nuke between it, Darmanitan, and Victini, but now outspeeding Zoroark, buffed Mienshao, and nerfed Serperior should give you more of a reason to consider it.
EDIT: oops forgot one
:throh:Throh & Sawk now get Foresight, Focus Punch, and Drain Punch - Another slight buff to help Spinners against Zoroark, as Throh can now Foresight it on the switch and either Spin in its face or threaten it with a Fighting move. Drain Punch makes it easier to drop RestTalk for recovery, though it lacks the punch of Storn Throw and the utility of Circle Throw.

And that's all for now! If you have any thoughts or concerns about these changes, then please let me know ASAP!

See you in SoloPL!

Name of Mod: ULTIMATE FINAL DESTINATION
Mascot: :kyogre:
Link to Changes: TBD
Summary of the Mod: Xx_FINAL DESTINATION_xX is said to be a meme... But I like the concept of such ideal metagame with primal purpose being providing a fun way of studying the very basic things about a metagame, to be more specific, an actual strictly solved metagame. The rule will be simple and under gen 7 mechanics. so Max team size=1, only usable pokemon is base Kyogre, max total ev is 0, no item available, only usable move is struggle(yes its recognized as a 1 pp move like cfzs). ideally the only thing you can competitively change is your iv and level.
Competitive Overview: Ideally it would be a metagame thats is completely based on mu fishing and the result of game is decided in builder... But generally I can see some math work upcoming on analysis of the choice of levels which I am about to do when i got time. its more like a performance art rather than a playable metagame lol
