Hay gaiz! It's been a while since I last posted on here, in April last year to be specific. Skarmbliss doesn't seen very active at the moment, so I decided to post my VGC team here for you guys to rate. So, I hope you can stand reading this crap! :)
My story: You're probably wondering, "Why are you here, you're a spriter." Well, I have had an interest in the VGC for a while, participating last year, (Alaka anhilated me RIGHT before i could go to nationals) and the year before. (A little girl kicked my butt on the 3rd round) Now, I've decided to prepare a little more seriously, buying Black in September. After several wins and (mostly) losses on Pokemon Online, this is the team I came up with:
Putting the team together:
Goruggo, one of my favorite pokes, a powerful sweeper with low speed that screams trick room.
After some thinking, I decided to partner it up with Erufruun, who doesn't really need speed, because it has priority, and along with the fact that it can set up TR.
Now I needed a sweeper with good coverage and bulk. Krimgan.
Lastly, if for some reason TR wasn't set up, I need a fail-safe that could set it up again. Shandelar can act as a sweeper as well, so it seemed like the perfect choice.
So, there's the team.
Team in detail:
Changes in red.
Elliod the Goruggo
EVS: 180 HP/ 252 ATK/ 44 SDEF/ 8 SPD
@ Sitrus Berry
Adamant
- Hammer Arm
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Protect
EVs: The 180/0/44 Defenses are to give it survivability, while the 252 attack is there to hit hard. The speed is just in case TR doesn't get set up.
Item: The Sitrus Berry is simply there to keep Goruggo alive and pounding.
Nature: Again, in case TR doesn't get set up.
Moves: Hammer arm is there to hit things hard for neutral damage, Rock slide is for the genies, earthquake is for sroomy and shandelar, and protect is..... yeah.....
Pillicae the Erufruun
EVS: 252 HP/28 DEF/224 SPD
@Mental Herb
Timid
- Trick Room
- Encore
- Taunt
- Protect
EVs: The EVs let it outspeed other Erufruun, while being decently bulky.
Item: The Mental Herb makes sure it doesn't get taunted, and sets up TR.
Nature: Timid is soley for speed, letting it outspeed others of it's kind.
Moves: TR is for the team, Encore, one of the best moves in this metagame, making sweepers useless, when all they can do is protect. Aaaahhh... Encore.... Taunt is to stop one of the biggest threats to my team. Morobauro. Protect is self-explanitory.
Zzetra the Krimgan
EVS: 252 HP/252 ATK/4 DEF
@Haban Berry
Adamant
- Rock Slide
- Sucker Punch
- Dragon Claw
- Protect
EVs: The EVS are to provide bulk and power.
Item: The Haban Berry is to keep fellow dragons from OHKOing it.
Nature: Adamant keeps it strong, and decently fast, in event of no TR.
Moves: Rock Slide is for the genies in case of Elliod's destruction, Sucker Punch for good priority, Dragon Claw for Ononokusu and Sazy, and Protect is obvious
Vayn the Shandelar
EVS: 252 HP/76 DEF/180 SATK
@Focus Sash
Quiet
- Trick Room
- Heat Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Protect
EVs: The defensive EVs give Shandelar some much-needed bulk while leaving its offensive stats intact.
Item: The Focus Sash gives it a chance against faster 'mons like burungeru.
Nature: The Quiet nature gives it bad speed, while enhancing its SATK- perfect for trick room.
Moves: Trick Room gives the team support, Heat Wave is a good form of fire power, Shadow ball is for Burungeru and other shandelar, and protect is there for obvious reasons.
I hope this was not extremely boring that it killed you and your mother. All rates are appreciated! Thanks for reading! :)
