SPL General Talk Thread

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that now everyone has an easy access to counter team and copy teams. At least before that topic exists cteamers had to look for teams and waste time and not just fucking click to get all the work done.

But do w/e you want, some people can win without doing that shit and I see you are not one of them.

Ok, I changed my mind, I don't want that topic to be deleted, I'll just rip teams and play like BKC did in the NU Open.

Its better for all of us, I guess :)

The only time counter teaming is a problem is when you think your opponent doesn't know your team, but they do. When the assumption is that your opponent DOES know your team, you can't be counter teamed (in the traditional sense) because your opponent doesn't know if you're going to use the same team again or a new one. They're basically flipping a coin if they want to try it.

Long story short making every log available REDUCES the impact of counter teaming.

malekith is a better tournament director than anybody badged for it. this man stands for fairness, fun, and the sport of the game. and by posting the replays of spl matches, we have ruined our ideals as not only a website, but as players of the game.

Isn't counter teaming kind of part of a tournament? If you know you're opponent is generally limited to the use of certain things or a play style, you can by all means try and do something about that. This is in itself carries a big risk to it, not always worth it.
Also, deleting the replays thread is immensely unfair on users who missed a battle due to not being online and does not help outsiders who are interested in tournament play and learning more about the game.

I normally try to avoid threads like this for the sake of sitting back and enjoying the drama. But I think Malekith is really trying to achieve nothing. On the server anyone (spectating or otherwise) can pull replays from matches (or C+P logs) or even view the matches live - Unless you restrict spectators to nobody, teams are going to get leaked - playstyles are going to be observed and weaknesses will be exposed. It's up to the player to have 1) Multiple teams 2) Play so erratically no-one can decipher whatever move you're going to make next, 3)Play somewhere privately (Or at a time when no-one else is on) (#2 is obviously isn't suited to tour play). I you find yourself being counterteamed then you're doing one of the three wrong.

Also if you're playing in an official tour and don't have multiple teams you're doing something else wrong.

idc if I've missed the point.
