SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SS Doubles OU tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, replays are required for all matches. If neither player posts replays of the match, both players will suffer an automatic game loss. (If you were in losers' when you played, you are both out. If you were in winners', the winner is in losers' and the loser is out.)
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a Doubles OU Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the Doubles OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what team to bring or what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot use any moveset on any Pokémon capable of intentionally causing an endless battle. Thus:
    • A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Pain Split.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Fling
  • Evasion Clause: Players cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.
  • Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
  • Gravity Sleep Clause: Sleep moves with below one hundred percent accuracy may not be used in conjunction with Gravity.
  • Dynamax Clause: You cannot dynamax.

Week 4 Roundup (Usage Stats and Highlight Matches Replays)

Highlight Matches:
Mishimono vs. SMB -- 1 round after facing shrop in Round 4 Loser's, SMB is paired with another top player in the Mish himself. By now I'm sure you know how much of a legendary DOU player SMB is, and after defeating shrop in a truly prestigious /randpoke battle in Game 3 of their set, I'm not sure if he can ever lose. When he's not making people tremble when they hear his name or being bossed around by his mother, Mishimono is actually a very good DOU Player. He's a 2x seasonal finalist (1x winner), amassed 3 wins in DWCoP, and is an SPL level player when he's on his game. If they don't bring monotype teams (please, please don't) this will be a super intense set!

The deadline is (almost) over.

Cheese5555 vs. ClaimingRobin -- The two made contact on Monday, with Cheese5555 saying weekend would work best, and ClaimingRobin saying they'd hit Cheese5555 up on Saturday to schedule a specific time. At around 2 PM, I commented on their wall asking about progress of the match in which ClaimingRobin said Sunday would work better. No contact was made on Sunday and the match didn't get done. While ClaimingRobin said they reach out to Cheese5555 on the weekend, neither player made an effort to get the match done, and there is no case for activity for either player. Normally this would be a coinflip, but I don't want to flip matches this far into the tournament so I am granting an extension until Wednesday 11:59 PM EST, but I am ready to flip the match if no progress is made. Extension.

YoBuddy vs. Yuichi -- Due to conflicting schedules, YoBuddy and Yuichi scheduled for slightly after the deadline at Monday 3 PM GMT+8 (2 AM GMT-5) and are granted an extension. Extension.

Akaru Kokuyo vs. duckpond -- duckpond reached out to Akaru Kokuyo on Wednesday and received still no response on Saturday, which led them to calling activity. 3 hours later, they posted again and said they made contact and are playing Sunday. However, both forgot about the match and the game went unplayed. Again, I'd rather not flip matches so I am granting an extension until Wednesday 11:59 PM EST. duckpond said on Discord they will try to get the match completed. Extension.

Round 6 (Top 32) will be up shortly!
