Pet Mod SS OU Theorymon (Completed)

blooclipse

formerly Bluecliqse
:whimsicott: :spams moonblast and gets kills. Put a specs on it and it goes ham. Sadly it doesnt learn leaf storm, but it has Moonblast / Psychic / Giga Drain / U-Turn on a specs set, very cool. Anything that doesnt resist fairy gets blasted.
:copperajah: :big elephant go wall. Run an AV set or a sheer force attacker, and it could be really good. Steel/Water is a good offensive and defensive combo, which makes it a fun mon to play with.
:latios: : spam volt switch or smt. Has boltbeam coverage and a strong draco to throw off. Could be a really nice specs mon.
:golurk: scary. Presses shift gear and has unwallable coverage. Poltergeist + No Guard Dynamic Punch is disgusting. Poltergeists everything, then punches dark- and normal- types. Scary ghost.
:inteleon: : greninja w/o the coverage lmao boring.

Probably will vote for Whims and Golurk

:ss/Whimsicott: + Fairy Aura + 20 Sp.Atk

nice mon " moonblast spam go brrr, can trick steels into hindering their utility and make them easier to take advantage off by other teammates. THis can help pokemon that would otherwise struggle against them" this is what i would say pretty much to my own sub..

:ss/Copperajah: Steel/Water + 20 Sp.Def + Liquidation

I would say nice defensive water and a nice rocker we have since it can tank a lot with the increase bulk since it can potentially run AV or become a bulky stealth rocker which can hit a lot of the tier super effectively between heat crash to nuke pokemon like ferro, kart, dhelmise, melm, heavy slam for a very strong neutral hit backed up by its strong attack, power whip can help vs bulky waters and earthquake just hits toxapex + steels hard enough and takes out zeraora who may try to setup. Sounds like a good pick but idk ill wait for more opinions since this is just me trying to theory smth

:ss/Latios: Dragon/Electric + Volt Switch

dragon/electric with being able to run smth such as volt switch, draco, thunderbolt, trick on choice sets. Not having that psychic type is a blessing as knock no longer nukes its hp bar and u-turn now no longer would force it out as easily. Electric on a levitating pokemon is nice and helps it with some extra resistances against steel, flying, and a quad resist to electric which helps it a lot. I believe it can fit itself better on balance teams but idk sounds cool also maybe a potential rain nuke with stab thunder

:ss/golurk: + Shift Gear

Uh... let me check the calcs "checks calcs"

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 330-390 (108.5 - 128.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 321-380 (89.9 - 106.4%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Poltergeist vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Landorus-Therian: 247-292 (64.6 - 76.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 294-348 (83.5 - 98.8%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Poltergeist vs. 152 HP / 0 Def Buzzwole: 255-302 (64.8 - 76.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Golurk Poltergeist vs. 252 HP / 68 Def Tornadus-Therian: 374-442 (103.3 - 122%) -- guaranteed OHKO

it sounds scary under screen but this is LO damage which means it can be easy to get it into range of priority or chip it down so it kills itself with LO... it sounds good on paper but idk it seems like it has to survive which is possible under screens and on pokemon such as slowking-g, tapu koko, dragalge, cobalion, turtonator, and maybe some more... it sounds good enough but idk ill let more people explain it who would understand it more than i do

:ss/inteleon: + Protean + Spikes

this is litterally gren 2.0... ignoring that its decent... it lacks the coverage of gren and the threat value of having such coverage it still does its job... lay down spikes on forced switchins and pivot out with u-turn eventually chipping its targets into range of its attacks... its one dimensional pretty much with boots or specs being potential sets i could see as it doesnt have the coverage or attacking stat to abuse any other stuff besides having a set of hydro, spikes/u-turn, and between ice beam/air slash/dark pulse, shadow ball as ur last.. that is it i feel like it can do stuff on offensive teams and it sounds somewhat decent idk... may be a harsh meta for it as while its stronger its just to one dimensional and has easy counters unlike greninja's versatility and unpredictability

say no more

:ss/Copperajah: Steel/Water + 20 Sp.Def + Liquidation
Fr this is a good buff, since many other posts have done a good job at praising its potential, I'm just gonna state, melmetal but it scares out heatran.

:ss/Latios: Dragon/Electric + Volt Switch
STAB thunderbolt and pivot capability is nice but can't ignore its defensive trait with a bunch of resistances and ground immunity, I can imagine it using torn and zapdos as a set up fodder, although losing psychic type means latios has a harder time dealing with blissey and weakens its stored power.

:ss/golurk: + Shift Gear
Can run adamant and screw up everything.

:ss/inteleon: + Protean + Spikes
A potent Spiker, with its offensive power discouraging many common Defoggers. Its great speed alongside constant U-turn pivoting makes choice sets a pain to deal with.

Would probably vote for :whimsicott: and :latios:

:whimsicott:
Why move forward with this sub if we JUST did Celebi? Its a Grass / Fairy special attacker just like Whimsicott now. Seems heavily redundant due to how much they may be competing with each other as special attackers.

:copperajah:
Pretty heat set tbh, Copperajah has a stellar typing with a respectful statline, allowing it to serve as a competent defensive pivot with a lot of oomph behind it due to it's high Attack and potential coverage options. Wish support is easier to do here than in standard so I expect big things from it.

:latios:
Very heat. Has respecful offensive power while adding a large amount of defensive utility on itself. Being cucked by Latias sucks but the amount of boons it gets in its place is worth the modification. I can see Specs run Dual STAB VSwitch Mystical Fire or Trick and do alot of good.

:golurk:
Very powerful sweeper, I do not think it is outright broken but this would immediately make it a top tier sweeper if it were to get in.

:Inteleon:
Lol I am not feeling it sorry lmaooooo.

I am voting for Copperajah and Latios.

Celebi has bulk + recover + coverage while whimsicott is a stronger special attacker who has utility in encore, leech seed, sub, knock off. I bet they will even run different sets such as whimsicott potentially using sub seed, specs, pixie plate, LO, while celebi may use defensive stealth rocks, NP, maybe potential choiced sets.... I mean unless ur running choiced sets they are never going to hard compete for each other.

We went ahead with articuno-g even tho it is potentially gonna hard compete with lele as a choiced attacker, and a CM attacker.

Garticuno is Psychic Flying. Its secondary STAB hits a completely different set of pokemon than Tapu Lele. Celebi and Whimsicott have the exact same typing hitting off the same stat. Yeah Moonblast itself hits harder but Cele can just NP up and bypass it. Just seems like a bad judgement call in general to me.

Barely any of these make any sort of goddamn sense. I'll still analyze them though...
Inteleon: It kind of makes sense since Chameleons do change colors and it fits with Kecleon. However, as other people have said before, this is literally Greninja 2.0. Why this got chosen over other, much more potentially interesting ideas is beyond me.
Copperajah: After thinking about it, this is easily my favorite buff ideas for this slate as it can now faint to a Kantonian Raichu! In all seriousness, I'm really excited for this one! Not only does it make sense considering it's Pokedex entries mention it's skin being resistant to water, but it's type combo and bulk are fantastic. Definitely gonna slap an assault vest on it. Also, Sheer Force liquidation go brr.
Latios: W-Wha...? This type change makes Zero Sense whatsoever, but I'm strangely ok with it? It's nice that it's getting offensive buffs compared to Latias, but why Electric?
Golurk: No Guard Go Brr.
Whimsicott: I may not have much to say about it, but all I can say is I like this buff! It's nice seeing Fairy Aura Being given to more than Just Xerneas.
Also, Geomancy Wigglytuff when?

AverageDamage just to note, the main focus of this mod is to create submissions that are competitively viable. While flavor is nice, it is not a requirement for a good submission here. For example, Darmanitan getting Thunderous Kick doesn't make much sense seeing how small its legs are, but this was both a winning submission and a very successful one, as its competitive impact on Darmanitan is nothing to scoff at.

Inteleon is my sub. Yes, it absolutely is just Gren 2 and I make no apologies. While it lacks the insane coverage of Gren it also has access to very potent offensive typings such as ice, ghost, and dark with the ability to set spikes.
Rajah is very cool. Love the flavor and offensive waters/ steels are always fun

Latios I’m not a fan of its ability to force 50/50s on grounds with ice beam and STAB volt switch

Golurk is interesting, but I worry it’s locked to heavily offensive builds.

Whimsicott is going to be the one of those breakers that had exactly one button.
