SS OU Winter Seasonal #3​

SPECIFIC RULES
  • This is a standard SS OU tournament
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • Replays will not be required until Top 16.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a Tournament Director. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the SS OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
  • Banned Pokémon
    • All Pokémon in the "Uber" tier.
  • Banned Moves
    • Baton Pass
  • Banned Abilities
    • Arena Trap, Shadow Tag, Power Construct
  • Clauses
    • Sleep Clause, Species Clause, OKHO Clause, Evasion Clause, Moody Clause, Endless Battle Clause, Dynamax Clause

What are we playing for?
This tournament will award points towards the 2025 SS OU Circuit, which awards a ribbon to the winner of the entire circuit.

Grand Finals
Zokuru vs Typical_bastard


Zokuru only has to win one Bo3, whereas Typical_bastard has to win two.

Round deadline is Sunday, May 4th at 11:59 PM GMT -5.

Replays are mandatory

Oh mb, so engrossed in wcop that we forgot to post
We talked abt this in dms and decided to worry abt this after qualifiers, gonna aim for the games sometime this week, probs sat sunday
Requesting an extension, apologies for the forgetfulness
 
I'm p annoyed and upset the game ended this way, this was not how i envisioned the ssnl finals to be played or ended, but alas, at times it's not meant to be, at times ur performance is sub par and at times ur opponent just plays better
It is not to say the teams weren't spectacular or that the people helped me didn't help me enough, I have amazing friends who have helped me throughout, even before this ssnl, friends i can confide in, friends i can talk to, chat w, share stuff w, troll w, mess around w, be myself w, I have some amazing friends, and the only reason u see the name typical_bastard pop up every now and then is because of the amazing friends I have, because of the care and effort they put into me and believed in me when no one else would
This was a poorly played finals on my behalf, but albeit, it is a sign for me to self reflect, not be overconfident, and carry myself in a way that would lead to me to learning from this rather than using this as a point to be upset and lament on it

Despite that, I believe I have worked hard to get here as well, from a guy who didn't even touch ss before this ssnl, to being asked by friends (namely slowpoke) to play, who said he'd support me if I just signed up, which leads me to my s/o's


S/o no1, for almost entirety of this ss run, I'd love to give a huge s/o to Slowpoke Fan , who has legit built every single fucking team for me (except for one set) and helped me get here and learn the tier in the little timme i did so, if there is anyone i have to give any credit to, it is slowpoke, from whatever i learnt to all the archetypes i practiced to all the teams i had been provided PLUS extra teams when i was uncomfortable, never a word when I was uncomfortable and always there for me and helped me w different ideas and lines and practice and different builds, it has always been slowpoke, the only reason i even got here this far is because of this dude, an amazing friend, a supportive guy, and someone ik i can always rely on without having to think abt a single thing, love the dude man, u have no idea how knowledgable he is regarding the ss metagame and how hard he works, not just for himself, but for everyone in our grp, be it ruffles or pap or whoeveer it may be, if u need smt regarding ss? he is always the go to guy, u have no idea how hard he carried me, love u man, u have no idea how happy and proud i am to have u as a friend my guy
Then I'd love to give a s/o to devin who has always believed in me as well, despite me showing poor performances from time to time yet choosing to believe me and in my efforts and persistence to grind and always helped me whenever i ask him without a single word, love u asw my guy
Another s/o to Joya , who albeit wasnt a part of this ssnl run, but he's the only other time i ever even touched ss, when i helped him during ss ssnl, and he's the reason i started having a slight passion for ss as not just a stall based tier, but a rather calculated yet fun one
Now s/o to my friends, who have alwayas been there for me no matter what, a special s/o to Zaza RufflesPro @noname_6293 Paprikaflow thajester BluBirD MangoSteak Drachenkeule kingofking Proftreez Nor Raiyan @thepakistani gang and many others, yk who u r, amazing friends friends ik i can always count on, friends who i tested w and who helped me during this tour asw, tysm fr man, u have no idea how much u all mean to me and how happy i am to have u as my friends my guys, and hopefully we'll always have each other to support and rely on as well
This isn't the last u'll see of me, you'll see me again, working harder and playing better than ever, until then, peace

Hey man, losing in finals sucks I know but you can still be proud of your performance (loading tyrantrum(???) aside), hope to see more from you in SS in the future! Making grand finals of a 256 man tournament is no small feat. Everyone has bad and good days, noone's a stranger to that. Just gotta have a good day and the next tour is yours.

Also congratulations to Zokuru, who won the tournament without dropping a set!
