It's been about two years, but it's time to bring back a teambuilding workshop for Ubers, now for the most recent generation with Pokemon Sword and Shield. In this thread, you can request a team to be built for you with specific ideas and concepts that will be incorporated into a test-ready team by SS Ubers builders with track records of building excellent teams. Please read the bulleted list of points below before submitting a request here.

  • Have about a one paragraph description with the set / core you want us to build around and a slight idea of what kind of team you want the end result to be. Also, actually have the set(s) you want us to use in your post! This makes the process of building teams faster for all of us here.
  • Do not post asking us to make use of super unviable Pokemon. This is not a competition to see how good we are at team building; this is us trying to educate people on what is good and how to build effective teams. General Rule of Thumb: Think C or above in the viability rankings, unless you are able to really sell something lower on the VR.
  • Please note that we can choose to dismiss requests for extremely generic Pokemon and/or cores as well as cores that have already been built around. Refer to the sample teams and other resources before asking!
  • Do not flame people for asking for a certain Pokemon or that they can't build one themselves. This is a place to learn.
  • Each user is allowed one request every 7 days and any user found requesting multiple will have their post deleted and may see further punishment.
  • Please remember that these teams are first drafts and as such will not be perfect. Edit them as you please.
  • You are free (and highly encouraged) to suggest and post changes / critiques you've made to already posted teams that you feel improve them. However, you are not allowed to post your own teams here to have us modify them. We're here to build new teams, not modify older ones. If you want your own teams critiqued and modified, post them in the RMT forum, not here.
  • Please do not ask to become a builder, I am handpicking the list.
  • Please do not ask that a certain person build a team for you. This is all done on a volunteering basis, whenever a builder has free time.
Examples:
Good: "I would like to request a team that uses specially defensive Gastrodon for Kyogre so that a paired Eternatus can go a more offensive route." You would post a set of Gastrodon and at least your rough idea in words (though a set would be nice as a starting point) for an offensive/setup Eternatus, and that would be enough. Bad: "I would like a Gastrodon team." We can build Gastrodon teams, but there is no direction here. You need to provide more info!

Please build me a team with Gastrodon-East that pairs up with an offensive Eternatus set here is just an example :O. The Eternatus must NOT be Meteor Beam, figure it out. I would also like it to be at least somewhat colour coordinated (this is mostly a suggestion but I'll give you some ORAS teams if you manage this). I'd like to request a balance/offense team with Kyurem-Black. I think the mon can shred teams with the right support, but I don't want a PP stalling set like Substitute/Roost/DD/Icicle Spear, something more like the following set. Open to other options that use Kyu-B as well. Thanks!

https://pokepast.es/a2187048c8754ba3 - Here is your Kanye-East balance! We're using standard offensive Eternatus with Life Orb and 3 attacks! Its speed is for Adamant Zac-H. I tried a slight spin on standard sand by not auto-losing to Groudon. Aromatherapy Caly-S offers some solid support for Rest T-Tar. A possible variation is Rock Move > Ice Beam on T-tar if you think Ho-oh is currently too annoying.
 
Hello hello, I am here to request a team with Meteor Beam Lunala, Calyrex-Shadow, and Giratina-Origin. Meteor Beam Lunala baits in the opposing Yveltal for your other Ghost types to then proceed to go crazy. If Gira-O is too unviable, switch it out with Marshadow.
 
Requesting a team with Court Change/Sucker Punch/Pyro Ball HDB Cinderace. Being able to screw webs teams with one move is really nice when half the ladder is webs; also helps against calyrex due to sucker punch. The last move can be either Uturn for pivoting or Zen Headbutt for Etern.

Good partners includes Etern to absorb Tspikes, along with other fast/strong teammates that appreciate the help against webs and Calyrex.

Porygon2 allows momentum into Cinderace/Offensive Yveltal/Groudon and helps us check Don/Zyg, which Cinderace needs help with. Not to mention a backup Demon Eternatus.

I would appreciate a team focusing around Choice Band Xerneas

WIth the ban of Zacian, not only this becomes a legitimate set instead of a mostly outclassed one, the consequences of the ban with less physically bulky Pokémon like Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Necrozma-DM running more Sp. Def sets benefit it. It mainly works as a lure to be partnered with Pokémon that want stuff like Necrozma-DM, Ho-Oh, Ferrothorn, or Blissey weakened or removed, like Eternatus, Calyrex-Ice, etc. Spikes also has a pretty nice synergy with it, alongside offering some utility due to needing only three slots like Aromatherapy or Defog if needed. I think bulky offense is what suits this Pokémon the best, although I won't say it specifically needs to be placed there.

Specs Lunala Workshop (pokepast.es)
I made a slight tweak and made Lunala Timid, mostly because if you run into 308 Yveltal with the Modest one you're in a really tough position. With that though, I tried taking a somewhat standard but fairly unique approach to the team with some of the sets. Naturally, the core of Calyrex-S + Yveltal baiting Lunala is really strong and the Scarf Calyrex-S speed control is great so I added that. From there, I figured this core was extremely Marshadow weak, like to the point where throwing on just soft checks would likely have you lose due to the offensive core never being able to come in. With that I addded Phys.Def Eternatus with 3 attacks to maintain offensive pressure and threaten Ferrothorn, leaving Blissey needed for the Kyogre check. This formed most of the defensive core needed, barring against Calyrex-S so Yveltal was added. 184 speed variant for more security against Groudon since this team just stacks soft checks to it with Lunala, Calyrex-S, and Yveltal. Finally, Calyrex-I just beat the team by clicking any button on Blissey or Etern so I added Dusk Mane, but the DD set here which likes Blissey carrying rocks and loves baiting in Ho-Oh for Lunala and Calyrex-S to do more work.

This team is a lot of fun, with the only issue I've ran into being Yveltal outspeeds Urshifu with +speed nature, but the power of Adamant is huge. Eternatus is naturally one of the main Urshifu pivots as well as Zygarde, so CM Twave ogre was a great para spam option to start the core.Good breaker and helps slow down the opponent for Urshifu to clean. Dusk Mane with Twave was the next para mon, being a bait for stuff like Yveltal, Ho-Oh, and even Calyrex-S which can't OHKO it through max Sp.def. Xerneas was the next addition, covering for Urshifu's Marshadow weakness with its Air Balloon set, and also providing a cleric which lets Urshifu switch into stuff like NDM Twave more recklessly. Yveltal fits best as the Calyrex-S check as always, with the spread helping break Calyrex-S Substitute and outrun Adamant Max Speed Necrozma-DM. Eternatus rounded out the team as the Kyogre check, and I figured opposing CM Twave has checks in your own CM Twave Kyogre, strong Yveltal + Urshifu, and a cleric, so I threw on Dtail to help with Block sets and just phazing set up mons against HO. Went with 330 speed since you don't need enough for Marshadow with a Xerneas around.
