SO! The votes are in and the winner is...

Estarossa and his Thunder Wave Cobalion!

can't believe we let sewage win...

Week 3: Incineroar
:ss/incineroar:
Incineroar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 28 SpA / 208 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Knock Off
- Overheat
- Toxic
- Parting Shot
note: the cat has a bunch more viable spreads/moves. please try not to leave your submission too weak to any common combination!
Incineroar is a rising threat that has become very common, sitting at #3 in usage for UUPL Week 1 thanks to its excellent typing and offensive and defensive utility. Defeating it early can make Pokemon like Chandelure and Espeon very threatening!
Submissions will end on
Sunday, March 29th to account for the fact that I'm silly and did this a day late. Have fun!

Jellicent @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Scald
- Taunt
- Recover

Normally, versus Willo + Hex Jellicents, Incineroar is able to freely come in and use it as a free opportunity to Toxic / Knock / parting shot, even though Colbur would give a one time buffer vs it, as Jellicent can't touch it.

Scald Jellicent trades the reliability of will-o-wisp however to do rather solid damage on a switch in, and prevent it using you at all later in the match due to Colbur + outspeeding. This damage is further improved versus more standard Incineroar spreads, which the Jellicent spread also makes sure you outspeed.

0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. 252 HP / 208+ SpD Incineroar: 122-146 (30.9 - 37%) -- 79.7% chance to 3HKO
0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. 248 HP / 84+ SpD Incineroar: 138-164 (35.1 - 41.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

reserving e-power venusaur

:ss/venusaur:
Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Weather Ball
- Earth Power

usually incineroar is a good check to venusaur because incineroar has the bulk and ability to check venu, its typing also allows it to act as a good check to venusaur as weather ball and giga drain arent super effective on it and inciniroar is able to survive even at +2 a sludge bomb with this set, but earth power can act like a lure in this case and helps venusaur to bypass incineroar and has a chance to 2hko incineroar.
this set can also take down other incineroar variants and safely 2hkoes them in the process of the game. in overall earth power is able to get rid off venusaurs check in incineroar and is able to break through it in the end game.

vs. suggested variant
252+ SpA Life Orb Venusaur Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 208+ SpD Incineroar: 190-224 (48.2 - 56.8%) -- 86.7% chance to 2HKO
vs. other variants

252+ SpA Life Orb Venusaur Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 80+ SpD Incineroar: 213-252 (54.1 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

ChandyLURE (Chandelure) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Toxic
Description
So basically this set lures in incineroar for it to take toxic. One thing incineroar hates is status because it has no reliable recovery outside of rest. It often is common switch in to chandelure because it walls its stabs. You give up what would usually be trick over toxic for the ability to status and chip incineroars.

holy crap i'm super late aaaa i'm sorry ;-;

the winner of this week is Katy with Earth Power Vensaur! congratulations!!

Week 4: Mantine
:ss/mantine:
Mantine @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Roost
- Defog
- Haze

Mantine is a Pokemon that's been picking up traction lately thanks to its great mixed bulk and defensive typing allowing it to threaten a bunch of common hazard setters and checking common threats like Noivern and Golisopod. It's got a few weaknesses that hold it back though; what will you do to break it?
You have until Wednesday, April 8th to post your lures!

reserving Toxic Noivern

:ss/noivern:
Noivern @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Roost

Noivern can switch in and proceed to easily Toxic stall Mantine while using Taunt to prevent recovery and even Defog attempts. Simple but very effective, as normally Mantine would be the one expecting to wall out Noivern or force a switch.
Just in case you were wondering: 0 SpA Mantine Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Noivern: 42-51 (13.5 - 16.3%) -- possible 7HKO

:ss/lucario:

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Close Combat
- Meteor Mash
- Dark Pulse
- Thunder Punch

Mixed Thunder Punch Lucario is a great lure for Mantine, which usually checks SD Lucario and NP lucario fine, but is capable of OHKOing Mantine,

252 Atk Life Orb Lucario Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mantine: 343-406 (91.7 - 108.5%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

reserving sd rock blast necrozma

:ss/necrozma:
Necrozma @ Lum Berry
Ability: Prism Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Blast
- Photon Geyser
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance

the usual set of necrozma can't break mantine as it runs earth power, photon geyser and heat wave but with this moveset it can catch mantine quite off guard because swords dance-boosted rock blast does a ton to mantine and photon geyser also does a ton. when necrozma sets rocks up and mantine switches into it to defog them away necrozma can set-up a swords dance and can break through mantine with rock blast / photon geyser.
mantine can't take advantage of a scald-burn either because this set runs lum berry and cures at least 1 burn coming from mantines scald.

+2 252+ Atk Necrozma Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mantine: 288-342 (77 - 91.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252+ Atk Necrozma Photon Geyser vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mantine: 282-333 (75.4 - 89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Toxic Cobalion

On mobile so no sprites, but Toxic allows Coba to cripple mantine and fat grounds that would want to use coba as free rocks/removal. Mantine is more likely to come in on Coba even if it is Volt Switch because its so damn fat, so smacking it with Toxic is the ultimate slap imo.

ok i was about to go for sub araq but i realized its HAZE (unset) so araq already walls it so i'll propose a cool mon : lax

:snorlax:
Snorlax @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge
- Facade
- Earthquake
- Superpower

(was too lazy to do a nerdy spread)
ok so this is def not the best mantine lure but it does lure it. While mantine haze switchs on lax thinking it will just haze its curses, Snorlax can click double edge on the switch and doing a lot of damages, which forces the mantine out or just kill it, since it can just roost on it :
252+ Atk Choice Band Snorlax Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mantine: 258-304 (68.9 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
It also takes advantage of scald burn with Facade.
I also want to mention how cool banded lax is right now. It's a cool cobalion lure with superpower and to an extend a cool lure for fighting mons since these one usually hard on it thinking it will just curse / body slam. (and its fat as fuck).
ty listen to let the sun talk it will make lucqq happy

Toxic Golisopod
:ss/golisopod:
Golisopod @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- First Impression
- Liquidation
- Toxic
- Spikes
Golisopod can set Spikes in front of Mantine, and cripple a try of Defog by using Toxic and annoy it during the whole game, also Golisopod resist Scald, and can force Mantine to use both Defog and Roost at the same tyme. Toxic also lures on Noivern Switch Ins, Spin Avalugg and other Bulky waters like Milotic or Vaporeon.

Inteleon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Weather Ball
- Hydro Pump
- U-turn
- Ice Beam

252 SpA Choice Specs Inteleon Weather Ball (100 BP Rock) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mantine in Sand: 238-280 (63.6 - 74.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage

You'll need Sand support for this to work and unfortunately it's really hard to justify using Smooth Rock Sand Stream users (Gigalith) so it will be hard to get a Weather Ball in time. But on the bright side, Mantine is almost certain to switch into Inteleon if Inteleon is forcing something out because Mantine is such a natural counter, so once you get the opportunity it should be easy to abuse.

Even if Sand runs out after a switch in, the next weatherless Weather Ball is doing 16.0-18.9% so you have a chance to KO if you did at least 7% prior damage. And no matter what, you're at least forcing Mantine to Roost.
