Project SS UU Lure That Threat! Week 25: Slowking (Submissions)

Voting is up! Congrats to GoldenSaiiber for winning the week! Your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame. Now, this weeks threat to lure is down below!
:ss/Slowking:
Slowking @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Psychic
- Slack Off
- Teleport

This week we have slowking! One of the premier defensive threats of the tier, slowking has made its way onto many teams checking dangerous fighting types like keldeo, mienshao, and Conkeldurr. Removing it can really open up a teammate to break through the enemy team. How will you lure this threat? Submissions end in a few days I don’t really keep much track anymore

Rhyperior @ Choice Band
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
- Heat Crash

Normally phys. def slowking can stand up to rhyperior as even 16+ rhyperior does not 2hko and can easily threaten rhyperior with a burn. But with CB megahorn you instantly ohko slowking, most slowking arent even going to bother risking the choice band as it has 5% usage which is not something to account on a game to game basis. They would want to switch in and take advantage of the free switch to teleport to a free teammate, try to burn you, or just make you switch out as you want nothing to do with it.

16+ Atk Rhyperior Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 135-159 (34.2 - 40.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 378-446 (95.9 - 113.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 152 HP / 132 SpD / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Mystical Fire
- Toxic
- Substitute
- Roost

SubToxic Moltres is a favourite set of mine to run on bulkier teams and it would absolutely love Slowking to switch in on it, thinking it can beat the offensive set. Moltres can Toxic it either on the switch-in, or even on the same turn Slowking gets a Scald off, as it will eat it quite comfortably, and Slowking will be put on a timer. Moltres can also opt to Substitute on the first turn against Slowking to scout for Toxic/Thunder Wave. Moltres handily wins the 1v1 thanks to Mystical Fire dropping Slowking's Special Attack as well. Slowking is forced to switch out eventually vs Moltres, which allows Moltres to heal itself/get another Substitute up/Toxic/Mystical Fire whatever switches in.

0 SpA Slowking Scald vs. 152 HP / 132 SpD Moltres: 170-204 (47.3 - 56.8%) -- 82% chance to 2HKO

Reflect Type + Toxic Tentacruel

Tentacruel @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 96 SpA / 160 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect Type
- Toxic
- Scald
- Hex

Reflect Type lets Tentacruel share the same dual typing as Slowking so it can resist both Slowking's STABs and proceed to Toxic stall it, with Hex for extra insurance to 1v1 it after poison chip. I went with Lefties over Black Sludge since it will lose the Poison typing during this exchange with Slowking.

Calcs:

0 SpA Slowking Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tentacruel: 42-49 (11.5 - 13.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever

96 SpA Tentacruel Hex (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Slowking: 160-190 (40.6 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after toxic damage

Adamant Nature

-Photon Geyser
-Earthquake
-X-Scissor
Not the most innovative set I know, RU players will be pretty familiar with it, but i'm reusing it here since it actually lures Slowking fairly well. The sets pretty simple actually, Slowking comes in expecting the Meteor Beam set with the knowledge that with Colbur berry they can tank out and Scald the physical set's Knock Off. Instead Necrozma DD's on the switch and goes for X-Scissor or another DD the turn after, depending on how much HP the Slowking has remaining. X-Scissor is generallty worse than Knock Off but gets around Colbur Berry and also lets Necrozma slaughter Zarude and Obstagoon, which would otherwise wall the set. The EVs are to maximize damage and outspeed Noivern at +1, as well as Max Speed Neutral Nidoqueen and Toxtricity at +0. Alternatively if you feel like risking burn you could replace Lum Berry with Life Orb or Expert Belt, which lets you OHKO Obstagoon at +1 93% or 44% of the time respectively, and have a 50% and 6.3% chance to OHKO PhysDef Slowking at +2 respectively. However, I prefer simply chipping Slowking with something else and gaining multiple DD with Lum Berry, which is a greater power boost anyway.
Calcs:
+1 252+ Atk Necrozma X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 210-248 (53.2 - 62.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252+ Atk Necrozma X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 278-328 (70.5 - 83.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Slowking Scald vs. 16 HP / 0 SpD Necrozma: 96-114 (28.3 - 33.6%) -- 0.2% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Guts Obstagoon Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 16 HP / 0 Def Prism Armor Necrozma: 276-325 (81.4 - 95.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Guts Obstagoon Knock Off vs. 16 HP / 0 Def Prism Armor Necrozma: 184-217 (54.2 - 64%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (no item)
+1 252+ Atk Necrozma X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Obstagoon: 248-294 (75.8 - 89.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage
+2 252+ Atk Necrozma X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Obstagoon: 332-392 (101.5 - 119.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Necrozma X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 361-426 (91.6 - 108.1%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Energy ball Celesteela

Celesteela @ Power Herb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 6 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Autotomize
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball

This is the second time I'm suggesting Celesteela in UU (because this thing is so good). I have nothing much to say beside that Celesteela is one of the best mon to bate Slowking.
Thanks to its steel type psychic is not something we have to worry about and the seal burn won't affect its special attack.
To finish, Celesteela can boost its SpA thanks to meteor beam but most importantly, it has access to energy ball!

Here are some calcs to consolidate my choice:
252+ SpA Celesteela Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 0+ SpD Slowking: 158-188 (40.1 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 0+ SpD Slowking: 238-280 (60.4 - 71%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

While
0 SpA Slowking Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 85-102 (25.3 - 30.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 SpA Slowking Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 48-57 (14.3 - 17%) -- possible 6HKO
