Project SS UU Lure That Threat! Week 25: Slowking (Submissions)

:salamence:
Salamence @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Roost / Dragon Pulse / Hydro Pump

Mixed def Primarina is usually quite the switchin to mence, which is only able to 3hko it by hitting hurricane thrice and if rocks are up, which means you're easily forced out and primarina can just rest on your low accuracy pps waste.
252 SpA Salamence Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Primarina: 115-136 (31.5 - 37.3%) -- 88.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Salamence Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Primarina: 115-136 (31.5 - 37.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Specs Mence takes advantage of agressive Primarina ins since it always 2hkos with 2 Hurricane + rocks damage. Primarina has in return only 37% chance to OHKO with Moonblast, so the odds for full against full on a Primarina switchin are still yours. Even if rocks aren't up, putting primarina below 20% (bottom line) can be insanely valuable for :Kommo-o:, :Entei: or :Buzzwole: in the back.
252 SpA Choice Specs Salamence Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Primarina: 172-204 (47.2 - 56%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Salamence Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Primarina: 172-204 (47.2 - 56%) -- 70.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Primarina Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Salamence: 300-354 (90.6 - 106.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

if anyone has any idea about why the calc says guaranted OHKO on the last one ill gladly hear them

Reserving Taunt Kommo-o!

That’s actually a terrible lure and I’ll actually be going with SD Sneasel!

:ss/sneasel:
Sneasel @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard

Sneasel is on the rise as of recent, and it looks like you can play around with it's nature a little bit! With Adamant, you not only 2HKO this prima set, but stay ahead of the likes of Salamence and Krookodile!

+2 252+ Atk Sneasel Triple Axel (40 BP) (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 132 Def Primarina: 189-225 (51.9 - 61.8%) -- approx. 99.6% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Mienshao @ Life Orb

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab
- U-turn
- Knock Off

252 Atk Life Orb Mienshao Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 132 Def Primarina: 242-286 (66.4 - 78.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Close Combat + Poison Jab KOs
Knock off + SR + Poison Jab KOs

Buzzwole @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Atk / 108 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Roost

Normally primarina can afford to stay in on buzzwole to take 1 eq and moonblast it into oblivion. This set OHKO's it after 1 round of stealth rocks and prevents anything it wants to do

252+ Atk Life Orb Buzzwole Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 132 Def Primarina: 286-338 (78.5 - 92.8%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Life Orb Buzzwole Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 132 Def Primarina: 178-211 (48.9 - 57.9%) -- 59% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

SD Poison Jab Keldeo by TotomonGang

:mienshao: by pokemonisfun- sorry pif, poison jab is actually a pretty common and standard move to use on mienshao, its even a slash on the analysis. I wouldn't switch my primarina into a LO mienshao until I was 100% sure it didn't have poison jab. Therefore, the commonality of this move makes mienshao not a lure, so I have to disqualify it.
Voting ends September 20 at 11:59 PM PST. My vote is for SD keldeo, I was going to submit it before Totomon got to it lol.

Voting is over! Congrats to laevin for winning the week, your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame. Now, let’s take a look at this week’s lure!
:ss/Umbreon:
Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Foul Play
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic

This week we have umbreon. Umbreon is a defensive staple on stall teams, being able to check threatening Pokémon like necrozma, gyarados, Salamence, and azelf. Can you find creative ways to kill Esta’s favorite mon? Submissions are due September 25 at 11:59 PM PST

Choicely Banded Rhyperior!

:bw/rhyperior:

Rhyperior @ Choice Band
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Heat Crash

252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 418-492 (106 - 124.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

yea, i took the 1v1 funny set and made it more suitable for 6v6, who would have guessed the Pokemon with Archeops attack hit hard?

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower

Superpower is a clean 2hko even after the second hit is -1, Umbreon can check it in a pinch and with a bit of chip which is not hard to achieve it can be absolutely nuked

252+ Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 157-187 (39.8 - 47.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 252-299 (63.9 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
-1 252+ Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 169-200 (42.8 - 50.7%) -- 50% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Lets have some fun with this shall we?

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
EV´s 132 HP / 252+ Defense / 124 Speed
-Substitute

-Toxic
-Softboiled
-Seismic Toss

124ev´s in Speed lets you outspeed Uninvested Umbreon by exactly 1 point. Which allows you to set up a Substitute before Umbreon is able to get a Toxic off on you.

Choice Band Trick Azelf

:ss/Azelf:
Azelf @ Choice Band
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt
- Trick

Umbreon would normally stuff Azelf's special attacking sets, but this allows you to Trick a Choice Band onto it as it comes in to severely cripple Umbreon and help wear it down throughout a game. Even in games without Umbreon, CB Azelf is still very fast and is able to act as an excellent offensive pivot with U-Turn. It can also force progress on things with Knock Off and/or Trick the Choice Band onto other passive targets/special attackers to ruin them, such as Chansey, Gastrodon, and AV Tangrowth.

252 Atk Choice Band Azelf U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 150-178 (38 - 45.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

jirachi.gif

Jirachi @ Choice Specs
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Trick
- Psychic
- Doom Desire/U-Turn

Umbreon does not mind switching into Jirachi as it takes little from its attacks and can threaten it with Foul Play. Even if the Jirachi U-turn's, umbreon takes minimal damage and can heal the damage off or switch to another bulky teammate the following turn. This set can surprise Umbreon with a specs moonblast that almost always (98.4%) 2hkos after leftovers. Trick is another option that can cripple Umbreon, and is a useful utility against stall teams in general. Psychic + Moonblast gives you coverage against a vast majority of the tier, only missing out on steel types. Doom Desire is a nuke that forces your opponent to switch around, pairing this with hazards would make it easier to break through the stall teams Umbreon finds itself on.

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Foul Play
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Synchronize is now rarer because of Gyarados, Jirachi, and Mamoswine’s flinching moves. Heal Bell is also (apparently?) not standard anymore. So they might have incentive to Toxic you which will just cripple themselves.

Reserving SubCM Moonblast Rachi Moonblast does 0 and Foul Play 3HKOes even w Timid and 0 atk IVs.
:ss/azelf::choice-specs:
Azelf @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn / Trick
- Psyshock
- Fire Blast
Specs Dazzling Gleam 2HKOes Umbreon and it can cripple it w Trick or pivot out w U-turn, fun mon overall and nice lure fs.

:chansey: by KrookKing - its cool to see you participate, but unfortunately I will have to disqualify your lure. Chansey normally beats umbreon anyway since they trade toxic and it can pivot out thanks to natural cure, so it wouldn't need to run anything else to beat it. I'm gonna have to not count your lure for this week. I do hope you'll participate in future weeks though!
This project will be on break next week, so you technically have until October 5 to vote! My vote is for Choice Specs Jirachi

Oh dont worry Monky25! Im not really one to make a ¨serious¨ sets, was just something that randomly popped in my head and I thought it was funny. Ill try again next time.
