Standard OU RMT........

Hi all, i am kind of new, and hence i am not good at team building since i am not good at building a team based on some strategy nor centering around some specific Pokemon, they are just some OU's picked with some support for the others' weaknesses and threat list considerations.
Of all my teams, this one has been the most successful for me(I win like 60~70% of matches :)), suggestions and criticism welcome !

Gengar (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast

iOutspped :~
My Lead, Standard Scarf Gengar. Outspeeds almost everything. If she cant OHKO that specific Pokemon or unsure about switches, Hypnosis and run.
Counters Weavile, Starmie, Alakazam, Aerodactyl and sometimes Ninjask; who think they are too fast fast for Gengar.
Works better late game when opponent has lost a few pokemons and can't switch into resistances and immunities that easily :)
Also, she is quite effective at revenge killing swords danced Lucario
with a focus blast (hope it hits) since it is slower and Gengar's immunity to Extremespeed helps.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 172 HP/216 Spd/120 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Surf

iSpin :~

My Rapid Spinner. Does a lot of stuff other than that. Provides help to the special attackers with decent Special Attack. Kills almost all Dragons without Yache Berry or Focus Sash in one Ice Beam.
STABed Surf generally takes out and nonScarf Nape, Tyranitar(provided it was weakened to some extent already), Rypherior and Heatran.

dpmba477.png

Dusknoir (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/76 Def/180 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunderpunch
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-o-wisp
- Pain Split

iSneak :~

My Anti Spin + Wall. Walls almost all pokemons who don't have a good Dark/Ghost attack quite effectively. WoW takes care of Gyarados, Garchomp and many other non-Fire Physical Attackers.
Thunderpunch works very well against Gyarados along with WoW.
Shadow Sneak does decent damage to Psychic or Ghost Pokemons with frail defenses like Azelf and Gengar. Also helps in taking out reversal/endavour using Pokemons.

I've been considering on replacing this guy since he has no specific role (Gengar also blocks Spin) and many other Pokemons wall better than him. Suggestions on some wall in this spot welcome !

dpmba392.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 24 Atk/232 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Nasty Plot
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Close Combat

iRipTeams :~

My favorite Pokemon in the team and for a some good reasons.
Firstly, he look cool and handsome !
Then, almost no Pokemon that is slower than him survives if he manage a Nasty Plot somewhere.
Also, kills almost all walls in the game, generally in one shot :)

I have a hard time with Garhomps as i cannot predict whether it's gonna Swords Dance or hit faster than me with a Scarf :(

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/216 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Zen Headbutt
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Stealth Rock

iParaFlinch :~

Does a lot of useful things in the team. Starts off with setting up Stealth Rock as he can switch into a lot of pokemons. With good defenses, acts as a good wall. Also helps the team by healing with Wish.
Finally, to make use of his ability, ParaFlinch using Body Slam and Zen Headbutt.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/100 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Ice Fang

iDance :~
My Setup Sweeper and the best one IMO.
Stops Walls from their plans with Taunt and sets. Almost unstoppable after two DDs.
Even if stopped, his bulkiness allows him to Dance more :)
Hits almost every Pokemon quite well with this combination move except Bonzong :(
Suggestions about the offensive moves welcome :)

By the way, can some one explain the meaning of the stats and what numbers should be reached for the top 100 ?

Well, thats it i guess. Please shoot you comments and suggestions :)

You are really Dark/Ghost weak. Three weaknesses without any resist/immunity arent good for a team. You could replace Dusknoir with Snorlax/Togekiss/Blissey, as Duksnoir istn doing anything for your team besides beeing a backup ghost

The above advice doesn't make any since at all. First of all, Blissey isn't a valid Dark/Ghost immunity, because moves like Crunch/Pursuit wreck it equally as bad as it does to Dusknoir due to that piss poor defense.

He is right tho, toss Dusknoir. I would even toss Starmie because IMO it is a bit gay to have Weavile bait everywhere. I suggest Swampert>Dusknoir to Phaze out rocks with Roar, while countering Boah decently.

Crap, I posted Dark/Ghost but forgot the Dark xD
A steel type would resist both moves, so you coul use Forretress, Steelix, Impoleon, Magnezone or something similar.

You have got a big Gengar Problem anyway, and Swampert wont help against it :P

Opposing Gengar can give you a lot of trouble. Jirachi takes even a Life Orb'd Shadow Ball like a beast, but Hypnosis takes it out of the game. After that, nothing can switch into Shadow Ball without taking a lot of damage. Gyarados will survive, but will be easily OHKO'd by Thunderbolt. Infernape can survive a Life Orb Shadow Ball, but is promptly 2HKO'd. Dusknoir is also 2HKO'd. Your own Gengar and Starmie are both OHKO'd by Shadow Ball.

Your counters list is really messed up as well. You list Gyarados as countering Celebi, however, it's quite opposite. Celebi is often used as a Gyarados counter, considering you're using a Bulky Gyarados, it will take 2 Dragon Dances to 2HKO with Ice Fang. Celebi 3HKO's you with Grass Knot while you're Taunting and Dragon Dancing. As I showed above, Dusknoir can't switch into Gengar, and your Gengar can't switch into Weavile.

I agree that replacing Dusknoir will help with this. Pursuit Snorlax will pretty much fix your Gengar problem, as long as you don't switch into Focus Blast or Hypnosis.

Your conservative rating is the only thing that really matters. That's what will be shown on the ladder. Right now, the average is about 1500 to make the top 100. Your Volality is how much your rating changes each day. If it's low, it means that you're staying about the same score. If that is high, it means your score isn't steady, and is either moving up or down.

I guess i'll try Foretress and Magnezone, thanks for the suggestion.

I do not want to toss strarmie, since it is a good Rapid Spinner and also hits Napes and Dragons. Swampert maybe worth trying but even it doesn't help against Gengar as mentioned by others :(

As you had mentioned about LO Gengars, my Gengar will outspeed them and take them out with a Shadow Ball i guess :)

More suggestions/ comments please

Gliscor would suit this team more than Dusknoir imo. And yeah, your threat list is really screwed up. Stop listing your Gengar as a counter to so many things, if it can't switch in safely it's not a counter.

From mixape experiences, put hp ice instead of nasty plot for late game sweeping, for Garchomp wall that nape very well and set-up.

Your Gengar will outspeed Life Orb Gengar's, but you're not switching in anytime soon. Everything on your team is going to attract Shadow Ball except for Gyarados.

Honestly a very flawed threat list. Gengar can revenge kill about anything it can OHKO thanks to Scarf, but switching in is a totally different story.

You don't have a very good switch into Suicune, and with HP Electric it can really wear out Gyarados (a little more than that lol) and can pretty much sweep this team. Raikou is even worse since it laughs at everything you have after a Calm Mind and when it subs up.

Also Gyarados doesn't stop Celebi at all. In fact, Celebi pretty much counter Gyarados, even one with Ice Fang. honestly you have a lack of needed resistances and have a hell of a time switching in to most sweepers. Dusknoir just needs to go for something that can take a special hit, and I mean REALLY take one.

I mean really, Weavile KOs half this team :(

You don't really have a physical wall either, so I'd throw in one of those. You'll need it since this team is challenged at taking hits. also, try nd make it something that doesn't die to Weavile, meaning forretress might be a good idea (and it also gives you an excuse to get rid of Starmie since you will no longer need a spinner and Weavile won't totally mash you)
