_____Night falls and the chase begins. Xiahou Yuan and those following him come upon the entrance to a strange forest. The forest is filled with fog, further obscuring vision in addition to the cover of darkness. An old wall surrounds the forest, though a decrepit broken down gateway provides entrance. Sima Yi warns that perhaps Zhuge Liang is not dead after all, and that this may be a false death ploy designed to lure Cao Wei into defeat.

_____"Or perhaps, knowing that he'd die, he faked a false death ploy so you wouldn't take the advantage!" yelled Li Dian, as he charged into the forest with Cao Ren in tow. Xiahou Dun and Zhang He exchange confused looks, but run after the two to stop them. Part way into the forest, enemy soldiers from both Shu Han and Eastern Wu begin to block off the few recognizable trails, and what was a dark forest becomes a maze. In doing so, Zhuge Liang plays the last gambit of his life, his Eight Heavenly Gates strategy.

_____Li Dian turns around, realizing that he needs to regroup with the others. However, as he turns around he feels a sharp pain in his back side. He looks down to see a sword skewered through his right ribcage, and looks behind him to get a short glance at Sun Quan himself before dying. Meanwhile, Guan Yu's army arrives from behind Xiahou Yuan.

_____Cai Mao, whose fleet was going elsewhere on an unrelated mission, suddenly received a message from a swift craft. It was from the emperor himself, and it said that Cai Mao's commander was in trouble and needed his help. It could have been a ploy, and it kinda looked like Sima Shi's handwriting, but Cai Mao turned his boats around headed towards the forest.

_____Far away at Ye, Yuan Shao knows of the joint effort between Shu and Wu, and he knows of Dong Zhuo's efforts to save Xiahou Yuan. "I cannot understand," he says, "Xiahou Yuan is one of the greatest threats to Dong Zhuo, why would he interfere?" Regardless, Yuan Shao began to draft an order that would send his own fleet to stop Cai Mao.

_____Guan Yu himself eventually showed up to fight Xiahou Yuan. Cao Ren made his way out of the forest and charged at Guan Yu, but was swiftly disarmed and pushed aside as if nothing. "Don't worry, I'll protect you!" suddenly a man as fearsome and strong as Guan Yu arrived, Dian Wei. With his mighty axe against Guan Yu's guan dao, the two were evenly matched.

_____After many bouts however, Gan Ning leaped over the walls and tackled Dian Wei. He was a much smaller man, but a swift and capable fighter and he only needed to distract Dian Wei long enough for Guan Yu to make his kill. As Guan Yu stared down Xiahou Yuan, the battle seemed over when suddenly, "Sir! Cai Mao has attacked our camp from the riverside!" Guan Yu orders a retreat, swiftly departs.

_____What of the order to stop Cai Mao? It never left Yuan Shao's desk, and was soaked in blood. "Xiahou Yuan may be a threat," said an ominous figured steeped in shadows, pulling a monstrous halberd out of Yuan Shao's limp body, "But he wasn't the greatest threat."

You are Yuan Shao.

Of all the involved parties in this conflict, you represented the nobility the most. The Yuan clan had been influential since the days of Emperor Zhang, and because of this no one seemed as fit to hold power after the eunuchs had been killed and He Jin had died. With Dong Zhuo snatching up power however, you formed a coalition against him that ended with the Emperor in Cao Cao’s control. You and Cao Cao were childhood friends, but this did not stop you from facing him at the Battle of Guandu. With a greater force and a better strategic position, your loss to Cao Cao is generally attributed to your unwillingness to heed your advisors warnings.

With your ego, you stand alone. However, you do have a massive military force. Starting on Night 2 and on every even night, you can PM vonFiedler with “Night X - Kill USER”. USER will be killed.

Putting great emphasis on nobility, you judge others based on their background. At night, you can PM vonFiedler with “Night X - Inspect USER”. USER’s full role PM will be revealed. Each night, you can do this OR the following ability.

Despite your senility, you did not rise to be the most dominant force in China without a few tricks under your sleeve. At night, you can PM vonFiedler with “Night X - Kidnap USER”. USER will be unable to post the next day and will fail their night action, but will also be protected from all other night actions for the night.

You know that Cao Rui is not in the game.

You are allied with yourself. You win if you are the last man standing.

_____In Xuchang, Cao Cao mourned the loss of his childhood friend. Xiahou Yuan chose not to pursue Guan Yu, as his men were still lost in the forest maze. Zhang He wouldn't be found for a whole day, and even worse, Xiahou Dun carried out the lifeless body of Li Dian.

Your father and brother were loyal servants to Cao Cao. After they died, you were uninterested in military affairs and was made governor of Lihu. However, when Cao Cao faced Yuan Shao (his greatest adversary yet), you took charge of his logistics even going as far as eradicating enemy units to make sure supplies arrived on time. Your greatest triumph was at the Battle of Leisure Ford, where it was you that destroyed the bridges preventing Sun Quan’s reinforcements. Your death at the age of thirty-five is a mystery, but your merits are not. In the year 220 AD, Cao Pi posthumously gave you the title of the Sympathetic Marquis.

At the Battle of Bowang Slope, Xiahou Dun rushed into an ambush and you had to rescue him. At night, you can PM vonFiedler with “Night X - Bodyguard USER”. USER will be protected from night kills.

You are allied with Cao Wei. You win if your faction is the last one standing.

_____And as Dong Zhuo called in another virgin maiden to satisfy his hedonism, the children across the land began to sing of the Battle of the Eight Heavenly Gates.
