[SET]
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Name: Dragon Dance (Flying)
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage / Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed / Fire Punch / Roost
[SET COMMENTS]
Dragonite is the premier setup sweeper on Flying teams thanks to its access to Dragon Dance and diverse movepool. Outrage or Dragon Claw are the STAB attacks of choice, hitting Dragon-type threats such as Gouging Fire, Latios, and Kyurem, while Earthquake provides solid coverage, removing Steel-types like non-Air Balloon Heatran and Gholdengo along with hitting Fire- and Rock-types such as Hisuian Arcanine and Glimmora. Extreme Speed provides utility in allowing Dragonite to clean up weakened threats along with catching Choice Scarf threats that outspeed it even after a Dragon Dance such as Meowscarada. Alternatively, Fire Punch hits both Skarmory and Corviknight, which could otherwise wall Dragonite, while Roost provides a way to keep Dragonite healthy, regain Multiscale, and safely tank resisted hits from the likes of Barraskewd. An Adamant nature is preferred, allowing Dragonite to remove Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire without a boost, while Jolly is an option to outspeed threats like Dragapult and Flutter Mane at +1.
Corviknight and Skarmory both make great support for Dragonite, with both handling Ice- and Rock-type threats like Weavile, Mamoswine, and Tyranitar. Corviknight can continue to support Dragonite by using U-turn to provide safe entry and Defog to remove Stealth Rock should Dragonite lose its Heavy-Duty Boots, while Skarmory supports Dragonite with entry hazards to chip down bulky walls such as Galarian Weezing, Corviknight, and opposing Skarmory, which can prove problematic. Gliscor and the Landorus formes remove Electric- and Rock-type threats such as Raging Bolt, Regieleki, and Iron Boulder along with using Stealth Rock to provide additional entry hazard support. Choice Scarf Enamorus removes Dragon- and Dark-type threats like Latios, Dragapult, and Sableye, giving Dragonite safer sweeping opportunities, and provides Healing Wish support to reactivate Multiscale, allowing Dragonite another chance to set up. Tornadus-T forms a solid wallbreaking core, with its powerful special attacks removing physical walls such as Galarian Weezing and Great Tusk, along with taking on foes like Ogerpon-H, which can pose challenges to Dragonite.

Flying
--------
Encore can be used on threats such as Raging Bolt, Primarina, and Kingambit to lock them into setup moves while also allowing Dragonite to take advantage of Gliscor, Skarmory, and Toxapex on a predicted non-damaging or non-status move. A combination of Thunder Punch and Ice Spinner can be used to deal with opposing Flying teams with its perfect coverage, but such a set needs to have Iron Defense Skarmory removed prior.
