Moves

Substitute allows Suicune to avoid status, especially burn and poison, which are massively crippling to it because it lacks reliable recovery. Substitute also makes Suicune a lot safer against critical hits, making it a good option alongside Calm Mind to set up on non-Thunderbolt Clefable easily. Substitute can also scout out the opponent's reaction to Suicune and scout out the initial switch-in. Calm Mind boosts Suicune's special bulk, which makes it more difficult for threats such as non-Psyshock Latios and Amoonguss to beat Suicune. Scald has a nifty chance to burn threats, especially Grass-types such as Tangrowth, Ferrothorn, and Amoonguss, as it can help wear them down quickly. Protect allows Suicune to gain additional turns of recovery from Leftovers, PP stall low-PP moves such as Leaf Storm and Power Whip, and scout moves from Choice item users such as Landorus-T and Keldeo.

Set Details
========

216 Speed EVs along with a Timid nature allow Suicune to outspeed everything up to maximum Speed base 80 Pokemon, including Heatran. 252 HP EVs give Suicune 404 HP, which means that its Substitutes will have 101 HP and therefore will never be broken by a single Seismic Toss. The remaining EVs are placed into Special Defense in order to give Suicune's Substitute the highest chance to survive Rotom-W's Volt Switch at +1, which is roughly a 62.5% chance. The Special Defense investment also ensures Amoonguss will never be able to break the Substitute with a single Giga Drain when Suicune is at +1. Pressure is Suicune's only ability but is important to PP stall more effectively. Leftovers is mandatory, as Suicune has no recovery options that fit well on this set.

Usage Tips
========

This Suicune set needs to be played more conservatively as opposed to sets with Rest, as it has much less bulk and can't switch into threats it otherwise would be able to, with Weavile being an example of one. This also includes avoiding Suicune being hit by status moves, especially Scald, Lava Plume, Toxic, and Thunder Wave, as status is extremely crippling for it. Because this set relies on Leftovers to maintain HP, avoid Suicune taking Knock Off at all costs. Suicune can find setup opportunities on the likes of Heatran and Clefable, as it uses Substitute to avoid status moves from them, while Substitute in tandem with Protect can be used to PP stall Ferrothorn's Power Whip. Avoid trying to set up with Suicune when its answers, especially Electric-types, are still around and healthy. Protect should also be used when Suicune needs the additional HP to survive an attack or to scout Choice item users, but the opponent can take advantage of this and set up entry hazards or use a boosting move.

Team Options
========

Pursuit support from Pokemon like Tyranitar and Weavile benefits Suicune well, as they can remove annoying Pokemon such as Latios; additionally, Tyranitar can take on Electric-types and Weavile can take on Grass-types. Beware that Tyranitar also sets up sand, which hurts Suicune's recovery. Answers to Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tangrowth, and Serperior are appreciated. Heatran and Tornadus-T can check them fairly well while also taking on the likes of Ferrothorn, as Suicune can find itself being pressured by it very often. Clefable appreciates Suicune setting up and punishing Heatran and Amoonguss and, in return, can check Electric-types and makes for a passable Weavile switch-in. Clefable can also spread paralysis with Thunder Wave, crippling the likes of Latios and making it easier for Suicune to set up against it. Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Garchomp with Choice Scarf or Yache Berry can take on Electric-types and, in the case of Yache Berry variants, can also set up Stealth Rock, which makes it easier for Suicune to threaten teams, as they can't try to freely switch between a Pokemon immune to Scald and one not immune. Since Suicune can't check common Dark-types in Bisharp and Weavile anymore, checks to them such as Mega Lopunny, Terrakion, and Mega Scizor will be needed. Suicune also appreciates entry hazard stacking, which puts further pressure on builds that struggle to handle it and also wears down Grass- and Electric-types; Ferrothorn works nicely, as Suicune can handle Heatran, while Skarmory helps check Pokemon that Suicune now struggles to check, such as Mega Lopunny and Excadrill.

Team options should mention a couple more Pokemon that can check Weavile (that don't have bad synergy) such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor, Scarf Terrakion, etc. Nothing much else to say really, fairly straightforward set

Not QC.

Mention Roar in Moves.

It phases out threats, and gives Suicune opportunities to setup Calm Minds, or Scald burns.

:]

Roar goes against the point of this set, which is stalling out its checks with Protect and maintaining Substitutes. The only time Roar is worthwhile is if Suicune is using Rest.

moves

just for a bit more detail, can mention that sub also takes advantage of switches / allows you to scout your opponent's initial switchin or answer.

usage tips

along with the first point of this list, mention that the lack of bulk / reliable recovery means that suicune should not only avoid switching into weav's knock, but also strong attacks in general (just to give a specific example of playing it conservatively).

team options

cause this is an offensive variant, say that you need sturdy answers to what suicune can no longer check and give some examples (pkmn like drill lopunny etc). make a section for a few rockers / spikers that work well alongside suicune to wear down checks like grass, water, and elec types.

two small things p2:

you said not to start setting up if there is a taunt serperior but that's misleading since if anything you want to set up when it is there to drain leaf storm pp so it can't win the second time. i would probably switch this to nasty plot celebi or just not mention taunt serperior at all since the former is irrelevant

also this seems kind of dumb to mention but say how you should never switch it directly into pokemon like tran and slowbro that have like toxic, scald, wisp, plume.... because suicune can't do shit if that happens and most teams running this set don't run heal bell anyways. you have no idea how many people make this mistake constantly then blame the Pokemon when in reality they were dogshit themselves

otherwise analysis flawless af

Substitute allows Suicune to avoids avoid status, especially burns and poison, (AC) which are massively crippling to this Suicune set, (AC) as it lacks reliable recovery. It Substitute ("it" in this instance was misleading; i couldnt tell if it was referring to sub or to this set, so i changed it for clarification) also makes Suicune a lot safer against critical hits (idk if this is worded correctly, i really wish i could say why. maybe a gper who lookes at this can help, but basically sub doesnt make suicune "safer" against critical hits, just gives it a form of protection for them), making it a good option alongside Calm Mind to set up on non-Thunderbolt Clefable easily. Substitute can also scout out the opponents opponent's reaction to Suicune (im not sure what this means) and scout out the their initial switch-in. The remaining EVs are placed into Special Defense in order to give Suicune's Substitute the highest chance to survive Rotom-W's Volt Switch at +1 (+1 Special Defense? +1 SpA Volt Switch from Rotom-W? i'd assume the former, but make sure to clarify), which is roughly a 62.5% chance. (not really needed, as people aren't going to rely on the exact probability while battling, just luck) The Special Defense investment also ensures that Amoonguss will never be able to break the Substitute with a single Giga Drain when Suicune is at +1. Pressure is Suicune's only ability but is important for Suicune's its ability to PP stall more effectively. Leftovers is mandatory on this set, (AC) as Suicune has no recovery options that fit well on this set (this sounds kinda repetitive and redundant, so i'd suggest removing the first "on this set").

Usage Tips
========

This Suicune (it's obvious that it's suicune's set) set needs to be played more conservatively as opposed to sets with Rest, as this Suicune it has much less bulk and can't switch into threats it would be able to, with Weavile being an example of one (this sounds a bit too wordy; maybe try "such as Weavile" instead?). This also means that Suicune needs to avoid getting inflicted with status from moves like includes avoiding Suicune being hit by status moves, especially (this is a really heavy change, but the original wording made little sense and this is a good replacement) Scald, Lava Plume, Toxic, and Thunder Wave, (AC) as status is extremely crippling for this set Suicune lacking Rest. Because this set relies on Leftovers to maintain HP, avoid Suicune taking Knock Off at all costs. Suicune can find set up opportunities on the likes of against Heatran and Clefable, as it uses Substitute to avoid status moves from them, while Substitiute Substitute in tandem with Protect can be used to PP stall Ferrothorn's Power Whips Whip. Avoid trying to set up with Suicune when it's its answers, especially particularly (fits better, and you've been using especially a lot) Electric-types, (AC) are still around and healty healthy. Protect should also be used when Suicune needs the additional HP to survive an attack or to scout choice for Choice item users, but the opponent can take advantage of this and set up entry hazards or a boosting move.

Team Options

Pursuit support from Tyranitar and Weavile benefits Suicune well, (AC) as it can remove annoying Pokemon such as Latios; (ASC) on top of that, (RC) while Tyranitar can take on Electric-types, (AC) and Weavile can take on Grass-types. (a bit of a choppy change in formatting but you get the idea of how this should be formatted. previously, i had no idea from what pokemon the pursuit support was coming from and thought that you were just randomly throwing in teammates until i connected the two parts of the sentence) Beware that Tyranitar also sets up sand, which hurts Suicune's recovery. Answers to Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tangrowth, and Serperior are is ("answers to grass-types [...] is appreciated") appreciated. Heatran and Tornadus-T can check them fairly well, while also taking on the likes of Ferrothorn, (AC) as Suicune can find itself being pressured very often. Clefable appreciates Suicune setting up and punishing Heatran and Amoonguss and in return can check Electric-types and makes for a passable Weavile switch in switch-in. Clefable can also spread paralysis with Thunder Wave, crippling the likes of Latios and making it easier for Suicune to set up against it. Ground-types that are holding a Choice Scarf or Yache Berry such as Landorus-T and Garchomp with Choice Scarf or Yache Berry (if this changes the meaning of the sentence, dont make the change, it just sounds better imo) can take on Electric-types, (AC) and in the case of Yache Berry variants, can also set up Stealth Rock, (AC) which makes it easier for Suicune to threaten teams, (AC) as they can't try to freely switch between a Pokemon immune to Scald (is there anything ou-viable with storm drain/water absorb/etc? irrelevant to this gp check but im not sure) and one not immune. Since Suicune can't check common Dark-types in Bisharp and Weavile anymore, checks to them such as Mega Lopunny, Terrakion, and Mega Scizor will be needed. Suicune also appreciates entry hazard stacking hazard-stacking, (AC) (are you missing a word?) which puts further pressure on builds that struggle to handle it and also wears down Grass- and Electric-types; (ASC), (RC) Ferrothorn works nicely, (AC) as Suicune can handle Heatran, while whereas Skarmory helps check Pokemon that Suicune now struggles to check such as Mega Lopunny and Excadrill.
