Substitute allows Crabominable to avoid status conditions from foes such as Audino and rack up Toxic damage more easily. It also prevents threats such as Primeape and Dodrio from revenge killing Crabominable. Drain Punch and Ice Hammer are both strong Iron Fist-boosted STAB moves that allow Crabominable to maintain a strong offensive presence despite the lack of Attack investment, notably allowing it to OHKO Victreebel even after the latter uses Strength Sap. Moreover, they provide complementary coverage, and Drain Punch somewhat mitigates the damage taken by setting a Substitute up.

Set Details
========

The Speed EVs allow Crabominable to outspeed Pokemon such as Audino and Regirock before they can cripple it with Toxic. The leftover EVs are put into HP and Special Defense, which allows Crabominable to take on threats such as Aurorus and Victreebel while also letting its Substitute tank various hits such as Jellicent's Scald and defensive Cryogonal's Hidden Power Fire or Fighting. Leftovers somewhat mitigates the damage taken from setting a Substitute up and gives it Crabominable more leeway in switching into threats like Alolan Persian. An alternative EV spread with 196 Speed EVs to outspeed defensive Lanturn can be used, to avoid getting crippled with Toxic before Crabominable can set a Substitute up. This also allows Crabominable to outspeed Jellicent and Drampa, which can use Taunt on Crabominable before it can react with Substitute or Toxic and do high damage to it with Hyper Voice, respectively. However, this takes away some of Crabominable's defensive utility and makes it harder for it to pivot into various threats.

Usage Tips
========

Crabominable should mainly be used early- to mid-game to weaken defensive behemoths such as Jellicent so a teammate can get past them late-game. Its typing and solid bulk make it a very reliable switch-in to threats like Aurorus, non-Toxic Cryogonal, and Nasty Plot Alolan Persian, which allows it to set a Substitute up to pressure the opposing team or cripple an incoming check such as Jellicent with Toxic. Although it has solid bulk, be cautious about recklessly sending Crabominable in against these Pokemon; it needs to be healthy to rack up Toxic damage effectively. Instead, it greatly appreciates being brought it via U-turn and Volt Switch. Against bulkier teams with a solid defensive answer to Crabominable, it is better to cripple the switch-in and then set a Substitute up to rack up damage instead of simply attacking, which could result in a loss of momentum. Against more offensive teams with no real answers to Crabominable, setting a Substitute up against a threat that's forced out by Crabominable such as Rotom-F will allow it to wallbreak more easily and make it significantly harder to revenge kill while also easing prediction. This often leads to the opponent having to sacrifice one or multiple Pokemon.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Primeape, Omastar, and Lycanroc appreciate Crabominable weakening walls such as Jellicent, Sableye, and Regirock. In return, Omastar and Lycanroc take advantage of Flying-types that threaten Crabominable, like Dodrio and Oricorio-E. U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Silvally-Fairy, Lanturn, and the aforementioned Primeape can bring Crabominable in against Pokemon like Mudsdale, Regirock, Audino, Clefairy, and Cryogonal, giving it a free opportunity to either attack, cripple a switch-in, or set a Substitute up. Silvally-Fairy can, in return, switch into Fighting-types that Crabominable invites in and use them as setup fodder, while Lanturn can switch into Fire-types that threaten Crabominable. Moreover, Lanturn's access to Heal Bell allows Crabominable to switch into Toxic and Scald users without much risk. Crabominable struggles a lot against Fighting-types like Primeape, Gurdurr, and Hitmonchan, which makes checks to these foes such as Jellicent, Musharna, and Oricorio-E necessary. Jellicent and Musharna appreciate Crabominable dealing with Dark-types like Alolan Persian, Musharna can further support Crabominable via Future Sight and Healing Wish, and Oricorio-E appreciates Crabominable weakening Regirock. All of them also invite in various special walls such as Cryogonal and Alolan Sandslash that Crabominable can beat. Specially offensive Victreebel is a good partner too, as it draws in Cryogonal and Altaria for Crabominable to take advantage of and can, in return, deal with Qwilfish and Gurdurr. Stealth Rock and Spikes users such as Mudsdale and Ferroseed are greatly appreciated, as they further pressure the opposing team in conjunction with Toxic. Regirock is an amazing partner, as it can also switch into Flying-types and physical wallbreakers such as Dodrio that threaten Crabominable. In return, Crabominable can switch into some special wallbreakers like Aurorus that threaten Regirock. Qwilfish is also a solid partner thanks to its ability to check Fighting-types like Gurdurr, and similarly to Regirock, it appreciates Crabominable's ability to switch into special wallbreakers. Rapid Spin and Defog users are appreciated, as they make Crabominable's job far easier and allow it to set more Substitutes up if needed. Altaria and Swanna are solid partners, as not only do they provide Defog support, they can also switch into Fire- and Fighting-types like Simisear, Combusken, and Gurdurr. Kabutops can also work, as it appreciates Crabominable crippling and weakening Jellicent to the point where it can't reliably spinblock against Kabutops. Lastly, Pursuit users such as Stoutland, Skuntank, and Absol are appreciated, as they ease Crabominable's job by trapping Musharna and Bronzor, and they all appreciate Crabominable weakening Pokemon like Ferroseed and Regirock.

  • The EVs in Speed allow Crabominable to outspeed Pokemon such as Audino and Regirock before they could potentially cripple it with Toxic, and the leftover EVs are put into HP and Special Defense, which allows Crabominable to take on threats such as Aurorus, while allowing its Substitute to tank various hits, such as Jellicent's Scald. and cryogonal's hidden power fire/fighting.
  • Leftovers somewhat mitigate the damage taken by setting a Substitute up, and give it more leeway switching into threats like Alolan Persian.
  • An alternative spread with enough Speed to outspeed defensive Lanturn can be used, say specifically that this is 196 EVs for clarity as it can cripple it with Toxic before it can possibly set a Substitute up. This also allows Crabominable to outspeed Jellicent which can Taunt Crabominable before it can react with a Substitute or Toxic. However, this takes away some of its defensive utility and makes it harder for it to pivot into various threats.

Usage Tips
========
  • Crabominable should mainly be used early- to mid-game to weaken defensive behemoths such as Jellicent and Gurdurr so a teammate can get past them late-game.
  • Its typing and solid bulk make it a very reliable switchin to threats like Aurorus, Cryogonal, and Alolan Persian, which allows it to set a Substitute up to pressure the opponent or cripple an in-coming check such as Jellicent I would make it more clear that toxicing is better if expecting Jellicent to switch in, due to it otherwise Taunting and walling you if you use substitute first. Although it has a solid bulk, be cautious about recklessly sending Crabominable in against these Pokemon; it needs to be healthy to effectively rack up Toxic damage. I'd also make a point about recklessly swapping in against Pokemon such as Audino too, as being Toxic'd will prevent it doing it's job against these bulkier teams.
  • While its solid bulk allows it to take advantage of a lot of Pokemon, it still greatly appreciates being brought it via U-turn and Volt Switch.
  • Against bulkier team with a solid defensive answer to Crabominable, it is better to cripple the switchin and then set a Substitute up to rack up damage instead of simply attacking, which could result in a loss of momentum.
  • Against more offensive teams with no real answers to Crabominable, setting a Substitute up against a threat that's forced out by Crabominable such as? eg. aurorus will allow it to wallbreak and will make it significantly harder to revenge kill, mention that it also eases prediction in these scenarios vs outright attacking, which often leads to the opponent having to sack one or multiple Pokemon.

Team Options

  • Pokemon such as Primeape, Omastar, and Lycanroc appreciate Crabominable weakening walls such as Jellicent, Gurdurr, and Regirock. In return, Primeape can bring Crabominable in against Pokemon like Mudsdale thanks to U-turn, while Omastar and Lycanroc take advantage of Flying-types that threaten Crabominable, like Dodrio and Oricorio-E.
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Silvally-Fairy and Lanturn can bring Crabominable in against Pokemon like Regirock, Audino, and Cryogonal, which gives it a free opportunity to either attack, cripple a switchin, or set a Substitute up. SD Fairyvally really appreciates Crabominable helping to break Pokemon such as Regirock and Mudsdale too, allowing it to sweep easier late game. Worth a mention also that Lanturn can run Heal Bell to cure it of status as Toxic, allowing it to potentially switch into mons like Audino more readily, and can also help to spread Toxic around to help Crab.
  • Crabominable struggles a lot against Fighting-types like Primeape and Gurdurr, and hitmonchan which makes checks to these such as Jellicent, Musharna, and Oricorio-E necessary. Jellicent and Musharna appreciate Crabominable dealing with Dark-types like Alolan Persian while Musharna can further support Crabominable via Future Sight and Moonlight, healing wish too, which can let it risk taking Toxic from Pokemon such as Lanturn/Muds/Regi, and allow it to more readily switch into Pokemon such as Aurorus. Mention specifically imo how future sight can help further pressure switch ins such as jellicent and gurdurr beyond Toxicing them. and Oricorio-E appreciates Crabominable weakening Regirock. All of them also invite in various special walls such as Cryogonal, which Crabominable can take advantage of.
  • Stealth Rock and Spikes users such as Mudsdale and Ferroseed are greatly appreciated, as they further pressure the opponent in conjonction with Toxic. Regirock is an amazing partner, as it can also switch into Flying-types and physical wallbreakers such as Stoutland that threaten Crabominable. In return, Crabominable, can switch into some special wallbreakers like Aurorus that threaten Regirock. Qwilfish is also a solid partner thanks to its ability to check Fighting-types like Gurdurr and, similarly to Regirock, appreciates Crabominable being able to switch into special wallbreakers.
  • Rapid Spin and Defog users are appreciated as they make Crabominable's job way easier and allow it to set more Substitutes if needed. Altaria and Swanna are solid partners as not only do they provide Defog support, but they can also switch into Fire- and Fighting-types like Simisear Combusken, and Gurdurr. Kabutops is also an option, as it appreciates Crabominable crippling and weakening Jellicent, to a point it can't reliably spinblock it.
  • A team option like Victreebel would be a nice mention. Can consistently switch into and pressure defensive Jellicent's which are brought in by Crab and get free wallbreaking/healing opportunities, help to check Gurdurr, and appreciates Crab's help in dealing with checks such as Cryo and Alt.
  • Lastly, Pursuit users such as Stoutland, Skuntank, and Absol are appreciated as they ease Crabominable's job by trapping Jellicent and Bronzor, and they all appreciate Crabominable weakening Pokemon like Ferroseed and Gurdurr.

  • Pokemon such as Primeape, Omastar, and Lycanroc appreciate Crabominable weakening walls such as Jellicent, Gurdurr, (it reallys struggles vs both, landing toxic on jelli is very situational and gurdurr just becomes harder to deal with) and Regirock. In return, Primeape can bring Crabominable in against Pokemon like Mudsdale thanks to U-turn, while Omastar and Lycanroc take advantage of Flying-types that threaten Crabominable, like Dodrio and Oricorio-E.

Silvally-Fairy can, in return, switch into Fighting-types that Crabominable invites in and use them as setup fodder, while Lanturn's access to Heal Bell allows it to switch into Toxic and scald users more freely. (lanturn also helps vs fire-types that attempt to rk crab when its subs are down and deals additional pressure to mutual targets like regirock)
  • Crabominable struggles a lot against Fighting-types like Primeape, Gurdurr, and Hitmonchan which makes checks to these such as Jellicent, Musharna, and Oricorio-E necessary. Jellicent and Musharna appreciate Crabominable dealing with Dark-types like Alolan Persian while Musharna can further support Crabominable via Future Sight and Healing Wish, and Oricorio-E appreciates Crabominable weakening Regirock and alolan sandslash. Crabominable should mainly be used early- to mid-game to weaken defensive behemoths such as Jellicent and Gurdurr so a teammate can get past them late-game. (nitpick- i dont think gurdurr is the best example here because, while you do technically weaken it with toxic, you also give it a guts boost; and Crab cant really do much damage with its attacks since it isnt running any attack investment) Its typing and solid bulk make it a very reliable switchin to threats like Aurorus, Cryogonal, and Alolan Persian, which allows it to set a Substitute up to pressure the opponent or cripple an in-coming check such as Jellicent. with Toxic. Although it has a solid bulk, be cautious about recklessly sending Crabominable in against these Pokemon; it needs to be healthy to effectively rack up Toxic damage. Leftovers somewhat mitigates (Leftovers is a singular noun) the damage taken by from setting a Substitute up, and gives it Crabominable more leeway switching to switch into threats like Alolan Persian. An alternative EV spread with 196 Speed EVs to outspeed defensive Lanturn can be used, as otherwise, (AC) it said foe can cripple it Crabominable with Toxic before it can possibly set a Substitute up. Crabominable should mainly be used early- to mid-game to weaken defensive behemoths such as Jellicent so a teammate can get past them late-game. Its typing and solid bulk make it a very reliable switch-(AH)in to threats like Aurorus, non-Toxic Cryogonal, and Nasty Plot Alolan Persian, which allows it to set a Substitute up to pressure the opponent or cripple an in(RH)coming check such as Jellicent (remove period) with Toxic. Although it has a solid bulk (optional: "that allows it to take advantage of a lot of Pokemon" if you want to carry over changes from the next sentence), be cautious about recklessly sending Crabominable in against these Pokemon (replace with "them" if you made the optional change) (this is conflicting advice; earlier, you said it was a reliable switch-in to them); it needs to be healthy to effectively rack up Toxic damage. While its solid bulk allows it to take advantage of a lot of Pokemon Instead (repetition), it still greatly appreciates being brought it via U-turn and Volt Switch. Against bulkier teams with a solid defensive answer to Crabominable, it is better to cripple the switch-(AH)in and then set a Substitute up to rack up damage instead of simply attacking, which could result in a loss of momentum. Specially offensive Victreebel is a good partner too, as it invites in Cryogonal and Altaria for Crabominable to take advantage of (RC) and can, in return, deal with Qwilfish and Gurdurr. Stealth Rock and Spikes users such as Mudsdale and Ferroseed are greatly appreciated, as they further pressure the opponent in conjunction with Toxic. Regirock is an amazing partner, as it can also switch into Flying-types and physical wallbreakers such as Dodrio that threaten Crabominable. In return, Crabominable can switch into some special wallbreakers like Aurorus that threaten Regirock. Qwilfish is also a solid partner thanks to its ability to check Fighting-types like Gurdurr and, and similarly to Regirock, it appreciates Crabominable being able to switch into special wallbreakers. Rapid Spin and Defog users are appreciated, (AC) as they make Crabominable's job way easier and allow it to set more Substitutes up (consistency) if needed. Altaria and Swanna are solid partners, (AC) as not only do they provide Defog support, but they can also switch into Fire- and Fighting-types like Simisear, (AC) Combusken, and Gurdurr. Kabutops can also work, as it appreciates Crabominable crippling and weakening Jellicent to a the point where it can't reliably spinblock against it Kabutops. Lastly, Pursuit users such as Stoutland, Skuntank, and Absol are appreciated, (AC) as they ease Crabominable's job by trapping Musharna and Bronzor, and they all appreciate Crabominable weakening Pokemon like Ferroseed and Regirock.

Substitute allows Crabominable to avoid status conditions by from foes such as Audino while allowing it to and rack up Toxic damage easier more easily. It also makes revenge killing it a hard task, as threats that would normally revenge kill it, prevents threats such as Primeape and Dodrio, are unable to from revenge killing Crabominable. Drain Punch and Ice Hammer are both strong Iron Fist-boosted STABs STAB moves that allow it Crabominable to maintain a strong offensive presence despite the lack of Attack investment, notably allowing it to OHKO Victreebel after it the latter uses Strength Sap. Moreover, they provide very good (complementary?) coverage, (AC) and Drain Punch somewhat mitigates the damage taken by setting a Substitute up.

The EVs in Speed EVs allow Crabominable to outspeed Pokemon such as Audino and Regirock before they could can potentially cripple it with Toxic. (period) and The leftover EVs are put into HP and Special Defense, which allows (nah, keep "allows", as the act of investing the EVs is what allows Crabominable to do this) Crabominable to take on threats such as Aurorus and Victreebel while allowing and its Substitute to tank various hits (RC) such as Jellicent's Scald and defensive Cryogonal's Hidden Power Fire and or Fighting (alternatively: "super effective Hidden Power"). Leftovers somewhat mitigates (Leftovers is a singular noun) the damage taken by from setting a Substitute up, (RC) and gives it Crabominable more leeway switching to switch into threats like Alolan Persian. An alternative EV spread with 196 Speed EVs to outspeed defensive Lanturn can be used, as otherwise, (AC) it said foe can cripple it Crabominable with Toxic before it can possibly set a Substitute up. This also allows Crabominable to outspeed Jellicent and Drampa, (AC) which can use Taunt on Crabominable before it can react with a Substitute or Toxic (moved) and do high damage to it with Hyper Voice, respectively. However, this takes away some of its Crabominable's defensive utility and makes it harder for it to pivot into various threats.

Usage Tips
========

Crabominable should mainly be used early- to and mid-game to weaken defensive behemoths such as Jellicent so a teammate can get past them late-game. Its typing and solid bulk make it a very reliable switch-(AH)in to threats like Aurorus, non-Toxic Cryogonal, and Nasty Plot Alolan Persian, which allows it to set a Substitute up to pressure the opponent opposing team or cripple an in(RH)coming check such as Jellicent (remove period) with Toxic. Although it has a solid bulk (optional: "that allows it to take advantage of a lot of Pokemon" if you want to carry over changes from the next sentence), be cautious about recklessly sending Crabominable in against these Pokemon (replace with "them" if you made the optional change) (this is conflicting advice; earlier, you said it was a reliable switch-in to them); it needs to be healthy to effectively rack up Toxic damage effectively. (period) while Against more offensive teams with no real answers to Crabominable, setting a Substitute up against a threat that's forced out by Crabominable such as Rotom-F will allow it to wallbreak more easily and will make it significantly harder to revenge kill while also easing prediction (redundant with change to first point). (Why?) This often leads to the opponent having to sack one or multiple Pokemon.

In return, (AC) Omastar and Lycanroc take advantage of Flying-types that threaten Crabominable, like Dodrio and Oricorio-E. Silvally-Fairy can, in return, switch into Fighting-types that Crabominable invites in and use them as setup fodder, while Lanturn can switch into Fire-types that threaten Crabominable. Moreover, its Lanturn's access to Heal Bell allows Crabominable to switch into Toxic and Scald users without much risk.
