I tried a Lonely Honchkrow w/ HP Fire

Sucker Punch
Night Slash
Drill Peck
Taunt

HP Fire 2hkos skarm with no EVs and a neutral nature.
For some reason I was laughing my head off after reading this post. Not only do I not understand how you are managing to use HP Fire, I'm also wondering what kind of shoddily designed Skarmories you were managing to 2HKO. If I were to use HP Fire, which I probably wouldn't, I'd use it over Night Slash.

screech/sucker punch/pursuit/taunt honchkrow actually works as a decent pokemon, sometimes. you can have a lot of fun with it if your opponent switches in something that doesn't resist dark entirely haha.

Heh, I use that exact Krow set, except that I use HP Fire for Skarmory. Posted it a while ago. Got a lot of hate for it lol.

It works wonders though. Really rips stuff up.

k typo, HP Fire > Drill peck. And a neutral nature Honchkrow with life orb vs 252HP Skarm does: 55.69% - 65.57%

So why dont you do the damage calcs before you try to prove me wrong. They try to wall you, you hit them while they switch in, doesn't sound stupid to me.

OK fair enough, but to be fair you can't expect me to assume Life Orb without you mentioning it before the edit.

By the way, wouldn't HP Electric be better for nailing Gyarados also? Intimidate would mean you'd struggle to even 3HKO with Night Slash (assuming no critical hits) and you'd still be able to 2HKO Skarm, whilst Tangrowth can be 2HKO'd by Drill Peck. I'd put it over Night Slash as Taunt means you'd mostly be using Sucker Punch, whilst Drill Peck provides handy extra coverage. Just a thought.

Vineon your post scared me, I thought the thread was going to be deleted! Anyways, In added that honchkrow set in and it really seems like a good option since these guys kinda need a fire move thanks to skarmory, could absol, who has lower spatt, but the 120 base power fire blast work too? maybe nidoking too.

I find that moves like DD and SD are just as effective at forcing you opponent to go offensive as Taunt. After all the last thing you want to do is let something sit there and SD.

As such SD+Sucker Punch could work well, get one SD, then hit them when they are trying to kill you off. Sure it still requires prediction, but its somewhat eased as most players tend to avoid letting pokes with large stat boosts stay in/alive.

Well, its kind of easy to predict Sucker Punch from Absol/Toxicroak, so you could just set up on them or get a Sub up or something. BTW, on Shoddy at least, if your speed is higher than theirs and you both use a priority move, YOU attack first.

Its not so easy to predict a Sucker Punch if you know they are packing Focus Punch as well. And if you don't know that, its probably going to hurt you alot when you do predict a Sucker Punch.

Heh, not if you're subbing! But you're right. If you predict the wrong one coming you're screwed. But if you get it right its a 100% payoff.

I really don't see what the point of Taunt + Sucker Punch is. Pokemon who use Sucker Punch are usually slow, and want to use it to surprise the opponent. Plus, once you use Taunt, the opponent would have : 1.already status'd you making it pointless to Taunt them or 2.already began to attack you. The Pokemon who get STAB on Sucker Punch and Taunt (Absol, Honchcrow, Mightyena, Spiritomb) are all really to frail (with the exception of Spiritomb) to be using Taunt in the first place, and are MUCH better off just using Crunch/Night Slash and then finish off with Sucker Punch if necessary. Spiritomb and the other Pokemon who learn Sucker Punch + Taunt also usually has much better things to do. I'm sorry if my post is a little depressing but that's just what I think.
