on a literal term, i agree.
if directed towards how good his character is; snake, wolf, and wsnake are bigger issues.
he is just hard to counter because he can outrange almost everyone. if he can't out range, he is useless; hence the marth and wolf counter. link works well too.
 
ike gets countered by almost anyone who has a projectile. considering my wolf raped your ike everytime >.<

At first I didn't recognize you so I didn't think I had fought you, but it's just little ol' DWC. So? Past=/=Present

I'm curious about Japan's most recent tier listings, and ours too, for that matter. Has there been any significant change/update recently?
 
yesh, lets be humane.
wolf is a counter to ike, and thats a solid fact.
wolf counters a lot of characters, actually.
does anyone counter more characters than wolf?
EDIT: yoshiking, snake will never lose his spot. you don't have to worry about that. i think wolf has been winning a lot of tournaments, but someone has been winning more...
 
ROB is one of Snake's worst matchups... but even ROB doesn't have a *huge* advantage. I don't see Snake ever dropping lower than 3 or 4 on the tournament rankings.
 
I don't see Snake dropping lower than the second spot on the tier list, tbh. At least, not any time soon.
 
i can't see snake dropping from -57 anytime soon either.
lets all be honest. snake will always be the highest on the tier list. his character is just better than all characters.
lets look at what he has going for him; amazing bair, uair, nair, utilt, mortar slide, droppable granades, one of the strongest fsmashes in the game, neutral combo, ftilt, great dthrow chase..
there is more, i just can't name it all.
to be honest, the first time i used snake was against dunk, against his dk, and i almost won. dunk is better than me, and i almost beat him with a character i suck with and have never played.
 
Either this starts to become a discussion of opinions backed by facts or I start infracting. None of this "Character A > Character B" with no info other than that.
 
I think that MetaKnight is a better character than Snake.

Snake has problems with R.O.B, Olimar, Donkey Kong, DDD, Falco and Wolf.
Metaknight has problems with Snake and Donkey Kong.

The problem with Snake is that he is very susceptible to characters that can outcamp him. He does have some of the best moves in the game, but this and the lack of a lagless aerial does give him some weaknesses. Also Snakes recovery is easily spiked, and if it is grabbed, Snake has no chance. When snake is in the air, he has a big gaping blind spot in front of him, so he is almost forced to airdodge, which can be predictable and punished.

The problems with Metaknight are a lightweight and a lack of a projectile.

See a difference?

Funny comments aside. Snake and Metaknight if anything just trade off on their weakness, and can both easily be argued for the position as best. Rhykune, you forget that anyone with a brain would not use Snakes recovery unless they were well above the stage or go straight for it, because it takes a lot to get Snake off the side, and he rarely falls below the stage. On terms of recovery on Snake and metaknight, one thing that can said for Snake is he can move after his. Metaknight has different option but all can leave him vulnerable somehow. Well unless you use the infinite cape I guess.

I think I missed something in there or got it wrong, to which DWC will probly yell at me, oh well. Would anyone mind directing me to where I can find the tourney wins chart? Or list them or whatever they want to.

Is this what you are looking for? And IIRC, weight doesn't matter as much when being sent off the side. Metaknight's recovery is almost strictly better than Snakes. Most of the time he will not even need to use any of his B attacks, as 3 jumps and a glide are great for horizontal distance. And Tornado recovery hardly leaves Metaknight open at all, Shuttle Loop makes edguarding MK impossible. His Side B has insane vertical distance.
 
i thought wolf won a lot more tournaments 0-o, guess i haven't been watching the other characters enough.

EDIT: wolf moved down >.>, i dont know if it was significant or not, though.
 
Snake is the Sheik of Brawl. His obvious weaknesses will drop him a few spots in due time but he'll never drop lower than borderline upper/top tier.

Doesn't seem like Smashboards wants to load for me right now, but thank you none the less. I suppose I should have clarified that I wasn't trying to state Snake's recovery was better, only show what it had over Metaknight. Snake does have SA frames in his recovery right? I was never certain but I'm pretty sure he does. I guess thats a plus isn't it?

I've found that Zero Suit Samus is more like the new Sheik of Brawl. She moves like Sheik, though not as fast, but she does have the moves "like" Sheik.
