Can somebody teach me how to get rid of the white background in my avatar? I have access to photoshop elements, GIMP, and Paint. Surely one of them can do it?

Eww, my paint program has no PNG so when uploaded to photobucket it turns into:

That kind of image. But, Diamond Dust here is 1/3 of my entry done. In the video it is going to appear as a PNG.

EDIT:
I need to edit some more of it. The shading is ass right now. Seeing as there are 3 light sources coming from the back and 2 arms.

Shit, that was the last contest I was looking at. =/ Oh well I'll work on the ultimate Flying type.
