thats true, he did say it was a scratch sprite which it clearly is not. Anyhow theres a lugia revamped i promised but never really got around to doing, and ill have it tonight most likely.
 
I'm going to redo it. (for the record, it was a pixel over, but I called it a scratch due to me having done the drawing that it was pixeled over. :/) Dragonflycave calls pixel over scratches, so that's why I called it that. I apologize if there was a misconception. I'm going to try and make a new one though, when I get a chance. (a full "scratch" sprite)

As far as I know, nope. =/ That makes me really mad, too. Another reason why I should debug my Photoshop...

Nothing that I know of can do that, And I doubt there is something that can. It would be hard to rotate something in something besides a right or straight angle simply because the computer would have to completely rearrange the pixels instead of just rotating a selected area. Eh, we can always hope, though.

P.S.: I'll prob. get done with my next sprite tomorrow morning. It's going to be a Sharpedo-Lairon Fusion. Just a heads up.

My first fusion (Dragonair-Seviper), and I'm pretty darned proud of it, since this is a huge step up from just doing recolors.

I have two criticisms for it. The white areas on its underbelly should be black according to Seviper's color scheme. The other criticism I have is how the fang that's closer to the camera looks like it's kind of tacked on. Looking at it closer, I noticed that that's because the outline red is at the top where the tooth fuses with the head. It would make it look like it is coming out of the mouth more if that area were more like the surrounding area. The circled areas in the pic are the spots I'm talkin' 'bout.

Otherwise, looks great for a splice. Lot better than my first...

Yep, Xatu does.

Obviously this is a joke, but I decided to scratch Xanatu after thinking about how awesome a Xatu evo would be. I decided that since Natu and Xatu share the same palette, it would make sense to keep to that trend for Xanatu (barring the purple flame above its head, of course); enjoy.

Be truthful: How long did that take you to make? 'Cause it looks awesome. The only thing I find wrong with it is the name, cause I think Xanatu is kind of long. Otherwise, looks great. Keep up the good work!

P.S.: Let's hope it's OU. :)

This one clocked in at a little over two hours; I'm slow and indecisive when it comes to scratching... and naming is definitely not my forte.

Anyhow, I'm glad you guys like it - I was certainly pleased with the final result.

I was also hoping this might inspire some of the regular spriters here to do some scratching. I'm always checking this thread, and it would certainly be a refreshing (and interesting) change from all of the splicing going on as of late.

Thanks a lot for the in-depth crit, I'll go fix that right now. :heart: Oh and Lairpedo's nice too, though in the frontmost head plate parts of the outline look weird.

Three words: That be awesome. I love how it looks like a totem pole. It could easily pass as official art.

Just so this post is not a two-words long and worthless, I give you a five-minute fusion I did for a friend IRL who said I wouldn't be able to combine Pikachu and Unown:

EDIT: Also- Headpunch, I've actually been intending on learning to scratch soon. ^_^ Maybe Xanatu's awesomeness is the little kick in the ass my procrastination needed.

Dude, you should have given that a giant Unown eye and let it ba a cyclops. Now it just looks like a weird-eared-and-tailed black with white cheeks and eye circles pika.

Even if that had not been a terrible act of beating a dead horse, this thread is still not the place for Pokémon TCG cards. The "Trainer Card" in the title of this thread refers to the in-game trainer cards.

That's good to hear. I, on the other hand, would have created a scratching guide long ago as an alternative to that inadequate Dragonflycave guide if it weren't for how much work and so little motivation would be involved with such a project.

"Other art nonsense" is indeed a very broad category, but if you had looked through the last few hundred pages or so, you would have found that what you were about to post was going to be out of place.

On the other hand, you could open your own art thread to exhibit such works of genius, but there's no guarantee that we artistic heathen here in Smeargle's Studio would possess the capacity to appreciate any of it.
