Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 108 HP/200 Atk/200 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Iron Head
- Trick
---
Pretty generic platinum lead, but he gets the job done. Although, to be honest more than often all I use him as is a Scizor check. But a problem with this is, he get's trapped by zone on ice punch and iron head; pretty much opening up the game for Scizor on my team. I really wouldn't mind losing him for something better for the team, but I need to keep scizor in mind. I'm considering
Starmie @ Life Orb
Hydro Pump / HP Fire or Thunderbolt / Rapid Spin / Recover
Not sure.
Skarmory (F) @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/242 Def/16 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
---
I never usually get all three layers down. Expecially not at one time. But no one is too worried about Skarmory since teams with mag lol. Well not anymore.. Shed Shell is going to make a definite rise. Spikes are really nice to have with all my phazing going on. A lot, LOT of the time Swampert will roar half it's PP out on a team which brings a lot of things into KO range unless they have recovery.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/80 SAtk/176 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Thunderbolt
- Psych Up
- Ice Beam
---
This lol's at lati's thinking they're going to set up on me. A lot of people want to sweep with their precious latis and will switch out after the first time I Psych Up which will leave me with +2 SpAtk and +2 SpDef. I then thunderbolt the incomming Ice resist.
Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 162 HP/252 Spd/96 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Charm
- Roar
---
Latias, to me anyway seems like a better Cresselia. This team was actually formed around that very defensive core I used to use early DP. Well, that EVERYONE used, I should say. CressSkarmBliss. Lati fits this roll well, shutting down everything Cress would and more, other than the ice weakness. Which isn't a big deal. That's where my next pokemon comes in.
Charm first turn. If Tyranitar, I'll charm again. Then roar them out racking up even more spikes and stealth rock damage. If it's scizor I roar right away. A -2 U-Turn/Pursuit hurts a little, but i can't leave them the chance to Swords Dance. Even though my Lati is way more on the defensive side I run max speed just incase I need to outrun another lati if somehow Blissey fails (tricked an item or exploded on by Heatran).
Swampert (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Earthquake
- Rest
---
I really have no intention of removing this. Gives me another check against Tyranitar. Roar on Swampert is pretty much my only solution to Gyara once it DD's. Stealth rock is easily set up the moment I send out Skarm, and I go to pert off of the magnezone. Then I EQ or roar until I'm low on health. Rest. Repeat. EV's are arbitrary, I just threw them on there to take on TTar and whatever else I can.
Weavile (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Night Slash
- Pursuit
---
Okay this has been a magnitude of different lategame sweepers but none have fit the bill too well. It was Raikou forever. But HP Ice, Grass even Signal Beam just never offered enough coverage and I got sick of the inconsistancy. Eh. But Night Slash is a good answer to Lati late game as well, as if I don't have it covered enough. It does a good amount of damage to the steels, but it always seems to fall just short even including all my secondary damage. I may even put that Starmie over this, or Screechgon or MetalSoundos!.. Hmmm. . .
The team has pretty good Synergy, I'd like to think. The only problems with it I have are Gyarados having no real solution. DDMence can be problematic but between Skarmory and Swampert, I have it handled OKAY. Scizor is ALWAYS a bitch but as long as Jirachi stays alive I can handle it okay. After that I have to depend on Skarmory being alive enough to take the superpower then Whirlwind out.. Which only delays the problem, not solve it. Trickers in general are very annoying. Rotom is an exelent example. I never put Swampert in because he's IMO the focus of the team, or causes the most damage anyway. I wanted to fit in Toxic Spikes but no real room for them. Tentacruel was considered in the last spot but I'd like to keep something somewhat offensive in the last spot since the majority of the team is so defensive.
