VullChou Ekans by emptywisdom
:vullaby::chinchou::mienfoo::ekans::chespin::glimmet:

Very poetic for empty to win this round. Congrats and thank you for your consistency in building teams with rarely used mons.

I would also like to mention the two runner-ups with 6 votes, very tight vote indeed:

Mono Attacker Eevee by Elfuseon
:elekid::glimmet::vullaby::eevee::toedscool::mienfoo:

Good Ol' setup spam by Eniigma
:minccino::gothita::squirtle::foongus::gible::cottonee:

Both these teams have seen usage in recent tours be it SCL or LCWC and I thought they were fire as well.

CYCLE TWO
Weather

"Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head"

Weather has been an important part of this game for a while now but we don't see it that often in LC. That's why your prompt this week is build a weather team. The requirement for your team is that it must contain two mons: at least One Weather Setter (Rain Dance, Snow Warning, Sand Stream etc) + at least One Weather Utilizer (Swift Swim, Sand Force, Slush Rush etc). Apart from this, there are no restrictions.

As usual deadline for the building phase of this cycle is Saturday midday PDT

:SV/Wattrel::SV/Bramblin::SV/Glimmet::SV/Mienfoo::sv/Vullaby::sv/Toedscool:

Windy is a weather according to Pokemon Go, and the ESPN Fantasy Football App. So I thought I'd see if this would classify under a weather team, if it doesn't please let me know and I will take this team down. Now into this really old team.

Several years ago, at the start of SV. I was really intrigued by the concept of both Bramblin and Wattrel's ability. Essentially one turn of set up can provide both of them with a huge power boost and speed boost for 3 turns. I shared this idea with Corckscrew on discord and they were kind enough to help cook the idea into a team and that team was absolutely fire.

I have now modernized the squad, keeping the original Wattrel and Bramblin sets. Wattrel is a nuke, I have video evidence of it ohkoing a Tinkatink. Both Wattrel and Bramblin can be used as breakers or sweepers for the team. Important to note that Bramblin can survive a knock off from mienfoo (takes 65% from bulky-speed foo) and KO it with an attack boost from tail wind. Bramblin hits really hard into most of the tier but it is walled by Vullaby. Glimmet is your Vullaby check, Hazard setter, and grounded poison. Mienfoo is a great balance glue mon and pivot. Vullaby works great to spread knock off and damage via brave bird, and toedscool is a great check to tinkatink and is a very solid spinner for the team.

Replays:
Bramblin putting in work
Wattrel shreds through opponent
Vullaby walls chinchou and gets 3 kills (This showcases why a grounded poison is so important in LC)

Some good windy music:

I'm too lazy to write something, https://pokepast.es/68248400d3bf227c here is my scl rain build with also another to play it with wigglett (https://pokepast.es/92cb67d4f4632ae7) and yeah.
Will still write just a bit to explain why I think people just are not playing rain right. We are in a rly fast paced meta where every turn count and I think the main reason that rain isn't working in sv is because people try to setup in rain wich is in reality a loss of a turn under rain. So I builded a team based on the fact of not losing a single turn wich makes this team maybe harder to pull out but I think after mastering it, is extremly hard to stop. Anw that's about it I just wanted to talk about a team I passed a whole week perfectioning and I think it's my ultimate rain.

Triple Sun Offense
by summerbub

Overview
No Rock? No Problem! This team showcases that you don’t need Heat Rock to make Sun teams work.

:glimmet:
Glimmet is my first Sunny Day setter. This was an incredibly obvious choice, because I can take advantage of Toxic Debris setting Toxic Spikes while I get my Sun up. This doubles my actions per turn and gives me a step up on my opponent.

:chimchar:
Next, I wanted a fire type with a decent speed tier that could click strong Sun boosted attacks. I ended up with Hisuian Growlithe Chimchar. It is also my second Sunny Day setter that will probably get KOd in the same turn giving me max Sun turns with my abusers.

:numel:
Speaking of Sun abusers, let’s talk about my first one. Numel is incredibly broken and will just steal games on its own. Simple boosted Sun boosted Growth gives me enough power to nuke the entire metagame. With Flame Charge giving it a +2 boost in speed WHILE attacking… yeah dude this is a fair Pokemon.

:bulbasaur:
While Numel is the premier sweeper on this team, Bulbasaur can either break early for Numel or clean after it. Bulbasaur functions as another Growth sweeper, this time with a built in speed boost. I chose Tera Blast Fire over Weather Ball due to limited Sun turns.

:mienfoo:
I wanted to make this team more unique with these last two mons. However, I ended up deciding that it’s way cooler if my team can win games instead of just packing as many unmons as possible. This is just the fast pivot Mienfoo but with Sunny Day instead of Fake Out. The nickname is also a nod to the Tera type, but make sure to forget that information if you ever play me when I’m using this team.

:vullaby:
Lastly we have a standard pivot Vullaby. I really like the misleading nickname on it. Basically Vullaby is just here to help enable my Sun sweepers by removing Eviolites.

I tried all the weathers and honestly rain is the one dominating rn and i wanted something a bit less dominating so went with snow. Scarf snover is good in general sometimes catching mons offguard and blizzard does hit hard. Sandshrew a is obviously the snow sweeper with standard sd set although i prefer tera fly here. This allows it to sd on ground moves like eq bray or dig a or if mareanie if it mudshots and fly also works well resisting mienfoo. Although there are other snow users, sandshrew a is the most viable one so what else to use? Grassy seed ofcourse with grookey +shroodle and drif, the combo is quite devastating. Then i realised i have no mienfoo switchin and bro kinda violates the team and so i had to switch to weakness policy drif which actually worked quite well. Its like an early game sacrificial sweeper. Shroodle i went with tera fly as well with sub and encore. Sub aviods spore as well as sucker punch and u can encore such moves to get additional sd. Same goes with tera flying on ground moves and encoring them to get sd although among sanshrew or shroodle, who gets to tera is a choice you gotta make. lastly i wanted tinkatink and honestly that was a great choice but growlithe h kinda flare blitz the entire team so i had to tera fire trap trap the dog. Rocks are there just incase u get the opportunity to set it and if not the team can still sweep. Also realized trapinch can trap tinkatink and glimmet allowing shroodle an easier sweeping environment.

Semi-Sand With Scarf Foo
:hippopotas::drilbur::vullaby::stunky::mienfoo::foongus: (click sprite for the paste)

Everyone was posting snow, rain and even sun, so I deviated a bit and made a sand team, a bit niche, but it has potential.

Team Description:

:pmd/hippopotas: only sand setter in the metagame, stealth rock and earthquake are self explanatory, yawn is a way to force switch on vull which otherwise can stay in for free and even setup if it is a nasty plot variant.

:pmd/drilbur: completes the sand core on the team, drilbur absolutely needs Swords Dance to make up for its lack in immediate power. Tera Ice helps break through Vullaby and Foongus. You can run Jolly Drilbur to speedtie with Mienfoo outside sand but Adamant is generally better overall.

:pmd/vullaby: It is a vullaby

:pmd/stunky: Provides extra knock support that makes it easier for drilbur to clean late game. Also valuable priority and 2nd poison type of the team.

:pmd/mienfoo: I went with scarf mienfoo on this team as the secondary wincon. The main idea of this team is to bait our the opposing tera with either mienfoo or drilbur and use the other for cleaning things late game. Scarf Mienfoo can get really scary late game if the opponent has sacked their fighting resist or has tera'ed their fighting resist.

:pmd/foongus: Your own fighting resist and spore switch-in so that you don't have to sack something to sleep every time you play against a foongus.

:snover: :Sandshrew-alola: :Mareanie: :Mienfoo: :Mudbray: :Vullaby:

Explanation:

This team is heavily inspired from a pretty similar NDLC team.

:snover: - Your snow setter.

:Sandshrew-alola: - The Premier Hail Abuser and the star of the show, forms a pretty good pairing with scarf Vullaby with beating shared temporary checks and allowing either of them to clean late game.

:Mareanie: - Mildly telegraphed but eject button provides a good one time pivot and even without its eviolite mareanie maintains a respectable offensive and defensive profile. Could potentially go Mud Shot over Ice Beam especially with Vullaby being Overcoat for Foongus.

:Mienfoo: - Standard except for taunt to help vs stuff like Shellder.

:Mudbray: - A pretty Sturdy Rocker and can even punch some holes on its own.

:Vullaby: - Scarf Vullaby has picked up some steam in LCWC and it works pretty well here both early on and later in the game.

Okay once again as promised I am here at 12pm PDT. Thank you to everyone who submitted teams and supported this thread. Here are this weeks teams:

Team 1 - Tailwind Offense DLC by Kowasabii :wattrel::bramblin::glimmet::mienfoo::vullaby::toedscool:

Team 2 - Dewpider double trap Rain by Lokifan :riolu::dewpider::gothita::horsea::shroodle::trapinch:

Team 3 - Triple Sun Offense by Winterbub :glimmet::chimchar::numel::bulbasaur::mienfoo::vullaby:

Team 4 - Weather Shredder by xzeroxman :snover::cubchoo::sandshrew-alola::impidimp::mareanie::vullaby:

Team 5 - Shrewdle's Seed by Eniigma :grookey::shroodle::sandshrew-alola::snover::trapinch::drifloon:

Team 6 - Semi-Sand with Scarf Foo by Novax :hippopotas::drilbur::vullaby::stunky::mienfoo::foongus:

Team 7 - Eject Mareanie + Scarf Vull Hail by Dabman1069 :snover::sandshrew-alola::mareanie::mienfoo::mudbray::vullaby:

I would recommend reading the writeups above, very interesting submissions this week I am excited to see the vote I can't lie.

To vote, please post with the three teams that you think should win. For example, if I thought that Team 735, Team 90 and Team 129 were the best, I would post this:

Team 735, Team 90, Team 129

Very simple. After voting is finished the team(s) with the most votes will win. Good luck!

The voting period will end on Sunday 11:59pm GMT -8

The voting period has now ended and I'm happy to announce that the winner with 7 votes...

Dewpider double trap Rain by Lokifan
:riolu::dewpider::gothita::horsea::shroodle::trapinch:

This one was pretty much unanimous unlike last week, 7/8 votes picking Loki here and for good reason. This team has been brought in both SCL and LCWC recently. Congratulations!

CYCLE THREE
SAME OLD? NO MORE

"Not Again"

I hope you guys have been noticing my song choices each week. "Not Again" is what everyone says when a new LC gen comes out and Mienfoo and Vullaby show up again to terrorize the metagame. That's why your prompt for this week is "Build a team without any S-tier Pokemon or in other words no Mienfoo AND no Vullaby." Apart from this, there are no restrictions.

As usual deadline for the building phase of this cycle is Saturday midday PDT
