Hi there! This is my first RMT, for the first team I have really put work into. This is supposed to be a balanced team revolving around stacking up entry hazard damage by forcing switches, allowing my 2 main offensive 'mons to clean up (In the case of Kyurem-B, it often turns into a minisweep).
Note: This is a team I use in the actual game. If you wish to suggest a pokemon with a certain moveset to replace one of my team members, I'd prefer it if they where actually obtainable in ORAS and XY, for I do not yet have access to powersave.
The main man:
Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe
Nature: Naughty
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
Kyurem has proven to be one of my most valuable team members many times. With the speed boost from the choice scarf, Kyurem outspeeds many pokemon that the rest of my team has trouble with, such as Greninja, Specs Keldeo, the Lati twins, Mega Manectric, Gyarados and more, and OHKOs them as well. Many of OUs walls are also 2 hit KO'd by this monster, so in most cases, the opponent will have to fodder off at least one poke, giving the rest of my team an easier time. Even if it does not score a kill, the opponent will likely have switched, racking up damage from entry hazards very quickly.
The wallbreaker:
Crawdaunt @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Knock Off
- Crabhammer
- Crunch
- Aqua Jet
Whilst Kyurem Black packs an enormous punch, there are walls and priority users which still plague it. Crawdaunt easily takes care of threats such as Slowbro (Including Mega), Ferrothorn (Provided it doesn't have Power Whip, or it gets hit upon switch in), Heatran, Diancie (Including Mega), Tyranitar and I could go on and on. The point is, most things Kyurem-B doesn't destroy get destroyed by Crawdaunt. Aqua Jet also allows it to act as sort of a revenge killer, even allowing it to OHKO most pokemon who are weak to it after hazards. Overall, nothing switches in on Crawdaunt, unless they are defensive and resist its STAB.
The "Jack of all trades":
Tornadus-T @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Knock Off
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane
- U-Turn
With an Assault Vest and Regenerator, Tornadus can take fairly powerful special attacks without problems. Knock Off severely cripples most pokemon. It is particularly helpful against scarfers, as scarfed Kyurem-B outspeeds pretty much the entire unboosted metagame. Focus Blast also makes Tornadus a secondary way of dealing with Ferrothorn, in case I cannot rely on Crawdaunt. Tornadus-T can also take a Hydro Pump from Specs Keldeo, who threatens a lot of my team, outspeed it and OHKO with Hurricane. U-Turn also gives Kyurem-B and Crawdaunt a lot of opportunities to come in and punch holes in the opponent's team, or switch into my defensive pokes to wall the opponent.
The bulky sweeper:
Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 100 Def / 160 Spe
Nature: Bold
- Psyshock
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Recover
Latias is mainly there to clean up lategame, as well as counter Rotom-W, who threatens the rest of my team. If needed, it can act as a pivot switch, as Latias walls many special attackers that can hit Skarmory for super effective damage. Crawdaunt, Landorus and Skarmory take care of most of its checks and counters, such as Tyranitar and Mega Gyarados. Kyurem-B and Crawdaunt also dent, if not kill, the walls that annoy Latias, such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn, further improving the chances of a sweep.
Physical beefcastle #1:
Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpDef / 8 Spe
Nature: Impish
- Stealth Rock
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Landorus-T acts as the team's physical tank as well as a pivot switch against things such as Conkeldurr and Mega Metagross, who greatly threaten my offensive pokes. Landorus' impressive attack stat also allows to to OHKO Bisharp with no attack investment, whilst Bisharp needs +3 to even have a shot at OHKOing Landorus-T. As my Stealth Rock user and secondary U-Turner, Landorus serves as an excellent lead, either scouting the opponent, or setting up rocks right off the bat. Its slow U-Turn also allows me to switch in Kyurem-B and Crawdaunt without having to worry about taking a hit. Earthquake, U-Turn and Stone Edge also threatens most users of Rapid Spin and Defog, as to make sure that if my opponent wishes to remove my hazards, the spinner/defoger usually ends up being taken down.
Physical beefcastle #2:
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Impish
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Spikes
Skarmory is my true wall. Its great bulk and defensive typing allows it to wall most of the things Landorus-T cannot. To further help their partnership, Landorus can Intimidate the opposing pokemon, and then U-Turn or hard switch into Skarmory to make the latter take EVEN LESS damage. Skarmory's STAB allows it to threaten Fighting types that are a danger to my other physical attackers. When both Landorus and Skarmory have set up their respective hazards, Whirlwind makes most pokemon take a HUGE chunk of damage, allowing Skarmory to wear down entire teams just by using Whirlwind, and roost when it is low on HP. This also works to punish anything that tries to set up, especially pokes who take the full force of the entry hazards.
Feedback is appreciated.
