Now, I have a very important announcement.
As we all know, the Pet Mods Grand Slam is coming up in a little over a month. In order to prepare, we'll need to balance out this crazy little metagame, so in preparation, we will temporarily pause submissions in order for the metagame to settle. This means we'll need the coding process (which already has good deal of progress done) to catch up and for playtests and minitours and ladder challenges to test the metagame to happen.

So, while coding catches up, we will have a long Discussion Phase. Also, you can play with what's already coded on dragonheaven.psim.us (type changes seem to be almost 100% up to date, the rest of the list is on Discord).
So, let's get this process started!

Tagging charizard8888 and Ludicrousity to continue their great progress on the coding process

Aight, I attempted to make a team (And likely failed):

Escavalier @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guard Up
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Twineedle / Bug Bite
- Drill Run
- Pursuit
- Stalwart Sword

Audino-Mega @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Sonic Boom
- Incinerate
- Heal Bell

Volcanion @ Distress Glass
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steam Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Flame Bullet

Togedemaru @ Light Ball
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Wild Charge
- Iron Head
- U-turn

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Teleport
- Thunderbolt / Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump

Rotom-Fan @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Defog
- Foul Play
- Volt Switch

The team overall:

- Escavalier is awesome. It's bulky, it hits hard, it outspeeds Musharna under TR and has great options for moves. Removing items with Bug Bite is a great option, tho with things like Forecast, Meloetta, Megas and Z-Crystals running around, you may prefer Twineedle for more reliable and consistent damage. Pursuit is to trap opposing Musharnas, but it overall allows it to switch in against most Psychic-types and force them out due to Guard Up + AV + Psychic resistance making it quite bulky. Drill Run is merely for hitting other Steels, and Stalwart Sword is it's main Steel stab, and can further increse it's bulk

- Probably not the best cleric around, but works well enough. Incinerate removes opposing items, ocasionally fishing some burns. Sonic Boom is for stall, as usual. Heal Bell is in case any of Togedemaru or Escavalier become burned, or Volcanion and Starmie paralyzed. Wish, however, is it's main purpose - Heals Escavalier, allowing for the bulky role to continue for longer than it should, heals Togedemaru's recoil from Wild Charge and just provides a good healing move for the others overall.

- Ok, with Steam Eruption, Flame Bullet and Fire Blast boosted, this thing is a monster. Earth Power is only needed due to Bulletproof. Flame Bullet is specially strong to pick on weakened foes, and even destroy faster threats like Xurkitree (OHKOs with Specs/Glass, actually). Overall, just a heavy hitter

- Speaking of heavy hitters, Togedemaru takes the cake. As some calcs posted earlier on the thread showed, it destroys a lot of stuff with Wild Charge. Fake Out and U-Turn are also great moves. Iron Head is for dual STAB. With Light Orb, that's all you really need. If things get too rough, U-Turn to a favorable ally.

- Starmie doesn't have much gained from Sylvemons, but it is still good as usual, now with a STAB Pivot move. Pretty stardard Starmie set, imo. Could probably also have Rapid Spin somewhere.

- Main way of Hazard Removal - It's immune to all grounded hazards and resists Stealth Rocks, so Defog on it is fantastic. It also has a good defensive type that, when coupled with Levitate, can be pretty hard to take on. Foul Play is for what it's usually used for. Can also punish Stakataka, since a Dark move coming from it's high attack stat isn't pleasing. Flash Cannon is it's usual STAB (Can be switched for WoW or Thunder Wave). Volt Switch is for pivoting into better teamates to face off weakened foes.

Other team synergies:

- Escavalier, Togedemaru and Rotom all are immune to Poison, which helps Audino. Every other member of the team also resists Steel, covering Audino even more. On the other hand, Volcanion helps the Steel trio by quad resisting Fire moves. Togedemaru, in exchange, is immune to Electric, aiding both Volcanion and Starmie. Levitate from Rotom covers Togedemaru's huge Ground weakness, while also covering Volcanion's weakness to it. Starmie, while not exactally bulky, can clean most Fighting and Fire types with ease, so that they don't threaten any of the Steel mons. Mega Audino also resists Dark moves, and is immune to Ghost, being a good switch-in to things that would try to damage Starmie.

- Togedemaru, Starmie and Rotom form a VoltTeleTurn core, with Lightning Rod being a good thing for Starmie to pivot to, and Levitate being good for Togedemaru to switch to as well.

Alright, attempted to make a team (and even more likely failed):
btw, suspects aren't included, but UB HAs are

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe

Smugleaf (Serperior) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis
JIRACHI - Jirachi is my friend. It's everyone's friend. Rev, so long ago back in slate 1, blessed us with Housekeeping and just recently, Housekeeping was given the ability to remove rooms as well. What this means is that Jirachi is my counterplay to Trick Room as well as my hazard remover. With a nice Steel/Fairy-typing, good bulk, and U-Turn, Jirachi freely pivots around to remove hazards and rooms at will, then pivots back out. It also packs Stealth Rocks of its own and Wish to sustain itself or Healing Wish to help the team.

MEGA SCIZOR - With the Technician buff, Scizor clicks SD and murders everything with Bullet Punch and a boosted U-Turn/Knock Off. Any questions?

MELOETTA-PIROUETTE - Speaking of Technician, Meloetta is an extremely fast and hard hitter, with a great 128 Speed stat and Technician boosts on all of its moves. Knock Off hits for a ridiculous amount of damage, Facade hurts and that's before status (OO: Secret Power is neat with all of the terrains running around and Retaliate is great at revenge killing), U-Turn for momentum, and Drain Punch is almost the same power as Close Combat with healing.

VOLCANION - Volcanion hits like a truck, has an ability that further boosts its power, and has a priority move. That's really all I need to say. The item choice is toss up, the Distress Glass is great for switching moves, though dealing with perma-Torment has the potential to be annoying.

LANDORUS-THERIAN - It's Landorus.

SERPERIOR - So, I wanted a Pokemon that can dent Water-types, was a strong special attacker, and could switch into Water-types without being weak to Fire or Ground. Enter Smugleaf! With that new Grass/Dragon-typing and Draco Meteor, this thing can will spiral out of control fast, as long as anything with Ice Shard is take care of.

Synergy:
Volcanion covers for Jirachi and Scizor's Fire weakness. Serperior and Landorus do as well to an extent.

Scizor (and Jirachi) cover for Meloetta and Serperior's weakness to Fairy and inability to hit, as well as Meloetta's Psychic weakness.

Landorus beats Stakataka (I think). Also handles Togedemaru well.

Landorus and Serperior cover for Volcanion and Jirachi's Ground weakness, as well as Volcanion's Electric weakness.

The whole team can take on Rock-types for Volcanion.

Volcanion, Jirachi, and Scizor cover for Landorus' and Serperior's Ice weakness, as well as Serperior's Bug (Bite) weakness.

Serperior handles Water-types for Landorus

Oh yeah, and I'll make a sample teams age on the archive in, so be sure to think of teams!

Time to get some grub discussion going

Sylvemon's Hidden Gems

In this post, I'm going to aim at looking for Pokémon who are better in Sylvemons than in regular play, but not necessarely OU Viable. These mons have either an unique nieche, interesting ability and move options, or are simply improved in the Pet Mod. Let's get into it:

Sunflora: While Sunflora still has mediocre stats and a not-so-great solo Grass type, it does have something nice going for it, which is the fact it sets up sun. This provides Sun teams not only a setter that is not weak to Stealth Rock, but also one that does not stack weaknesses with the Fire-Type mons who usually are the main Sun abusers. By the contrary, it resists Ground and Water, as well as being able to cover all 3 types that Fire is weak to. This way, Sunflora will probably be used in some Sun teams as a way to help out Fire-Type mons, and is definetly at the least unique.

Lycanroc-Midnight: With an alright new typing in Rock / Dark, as well as a fantastic offensive ability in Obstinacy, Lycanroc-Midnight becomes much better. Obstinacy, for those who are unfamilliar, makes your moves deal more damage the less HP you have, thus having this ability makes it a great Focus Sash user, which in return it could use for setting up Stealth Rocks, Rock Polish or Swords Dance. If you are knocked down to 1 HP, then all your moves will have essentially a 2x boost to them (1.99x, but for simplicity, let's just say 2x). New move options it gained include Accelerock and Sucker Punch, meaning it has Priority STAB options to make up for a poor speed tier. However, Lycanroc-Midnight still isn't top tier. It's weak to common priority options, such as Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch and Mach Punch, relies on taking damage and being in low HP to be relatively powerful, has limited coverage and may still be overshadowed by other HO mons who can do immediate damage.

Samurott: Samurott has gained the Fighting type alongside a great new ability in Knight's Blade (Which synergizes well with it's (Literal) STABs), and Steel coverage, allowing it to hit Fairies. With Swords Dance, Samurott can be a dangerous Pokémon against those it outspeeds, with a 135 BP STAB move that ignores foe's defense boosts, a 112 BP move with a whooping 50% chance to lower foe's Defense, and a pretty cool 135 BP Steel coverage move that may even boost it's own defense. That being said, however, Samurott doesn't outspeed much. 70 base Speed sits in an odd position, where it struggles both in regular play and under Trick Room. It's overall stats also just make it pretty much be a less strong Keldeo that hits on the Physical side.

Ambipom & Klinklang: Both are in the same spot because their new nieche is the same: Technician with a 50 BP STAB move that hits twice, essentially being a 150 BP STAB move that breakes Sashes and Subs, with no drawbacks. While this isn't enough to make them go all up to OU, they both are hard to switch in on. The main difference between them is the fact that Ambipom has way better coverage, Tech Knock Off / U-Turn, while Klinklang can set up with Shift Gear and has an arguably better type.

Pikaclones: Light Ball now also affect Pikaclones, making them pretty heavy-hitters. Some of them got more of a benefit than others, namely the raichus, Emolga and Togedemaru, but that doesn't mean Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu and Dedenne are to laugh at. Their offensive presence is huge. All of them now basically have Huge Power (That also boosts Special Attack), and as an item that cannot be removed. With this, they will for sure be way better than just some PU mons. They are somewhat held back by poor coverage, tho, and most of them only have Electric as STAB, as well as being really frail.

Unburden: New items were introduced in the game, and the Unburden users appreciate them. The item that impact them the most would be Blue Herb and Weather Warrior's Crystal, ocasionally Home-Run Bat and Photocopier. With a Blue Herb, they can use self stat-lowering moves to gain a boost instead. Sceptile can use Leaf Storm to gain a +2 in Special Attack, and be at double Speed the next turn, while Hitmonlee can pick between Superpower or Close Combat, and Hawlucha is left with Superpower. They can also be splashed on weather teams with WWC, gaining a +1 to both offenses under weather. Overall, a great improovement to them.

Eviolith Users: Sylvemons has granted NFEs and LCs a new gift in an offensive variant of Eviolite. As such, some more offensive mons such as Kadabra, Combusken and Scyther get to really shine their lights here. Not that much to say here, just that they really pack a punch and provide an interesting spot in a team (Specially Combusken, being able to spiral out of control with Speed Boost if one's not careful enough)

Drifblim: Being both a Air Stream setter or a Flare Boost abuser, Drifblim has it's nieches. Flare Boost makes it hit really hard with what's basically special Huge Power with 90 Sp. Atk, while setting an unique weather provides it some support set options. It is pretty good at doing either, with good HP to set up Air Current and just ok Speed to sweep after Sticky Webs. Still, it isn't quite enough for OU envyroment.

Mega Audino: Living in the shadows of Blissey, Mega Audino can't quite show what it has to offer: Great bulk, good Wish passer, and a good Stall with Sonic Boom. Can be a somewhat bulky attacker too if it uses Calm Mind, but Cleric is it's best role. Is Mega Audino better than before? Surely. Is it good enough to justify using over Blissey? Probably only really if you desire better physical bulk, and if you fear Leftovers being removed.

Honorable Mentions

Magikarp, Unown and Cosmog: While it is true that they got improved, that's not saying much to any of them. Since they were pretty useless before, any tiny buff greatly improves them. The three have Seismic Toss clones too, so you might as well want to use that.

Cosmoem: Being able to deal damage with Psywave and to pivot with Teleport allow it to use it's bulk for something. However, it is stopped by literally any Dark-Type.

Parasect: Has basically only the nieche of Prankster Spore. Is that bad? No. Is the new type bad? No. However, it's stats are average at best, and still not that much OU worthy

Unfezant: Can summon the new weather, so it actually has an use now, but it's still outclassed by other weather setters.

Maractus: Spiky Shield is a great unique move that Maractus can learn, and it can also function as a Spikes setter for weather teams. However, Tornadus is simply a better Forecast mon, and even then there are better regular setters for the weathers too.

Is there any mon you think I missed? Anything else that would reside in UU or BL in Sylvemons, being buffed but not quite OU yet?

Camerupt scares me. In this TR world, 145 SPAtk with Sheer Force and All Terrain Blast means you’ve got Electric or grass coverage to go with your nice STAB combo. Add the Sun setter of your choice (Sunflora doesn’t compound a single weakness.) and go to town.

Camerupt
Item: Cameruptite
Nature: Modest/Quiet
EVs: 252 Sp, 252hp, 6 SpDef
Ability: who cares, just mega!
Move set:
Fire Blast
Earth Power
All terrain Blast/Solar Beam/toxic/Growth
Growth/Toxic/Incinerate

+2 Mega Camerupt Sheer Force Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey in Sun: 642-756 (89.9 - 105.8%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

And at that speed in TR... Oh and you can forget Chansey stopping it because all these new knockoffs of Knock off spell out bad news for it and is why Incinerate is also slashed into .

If it’s Sun Hyper Offense then Typhosion could play clean up crew if you lose your TR.

So praise the sun!

And if you think Zapdos, who can rain up and ignore your ground/All Terrain coverage is a problem...

+2 252+ SpA Sheer Force Camerupt-Mega Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Zapdos in Rain: 303-357 (79.1 - 93.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Think again!

Mismagius: It probably isn't buffed enough for OU, but usable special attack and speed stats along with a good offensive typing in Ghost/Fairy that provides almost perfect neutral coverage by itself make Mismagius a unique offensive Pokemon. It also has decent coverage moves in Power Gem and Mystical Fire, and Nasty Plot can be used to boost its special attack. Other options include Heal Bell to be a cleric, Memento to provide a safe switch-in for a teammate, Trick, and Will-O-Wisp, and it can even set up Magic Room, Trick Room, or Wonder Room. Defensively, Ghost/Fairy has three immunities (four with Levitate) and two weaknesses. However, it has low HP with very low physical bulk, even with its new ability Magic Healing providing it some passive healing.

Articuno: Articuno still has a defensively bad typing, but it did receive some buffs. Snow Warning along with access to Aurora Veil provides a new setter with greater bulk and special attack than Ninetales-Alola, though it is slower. Hail now gives it 1.5x defense as well. It can then spam perfectly accurate Blizzards while Defogging away hazards or setting up Tailwind. U-turn allows a teammate to get in safely. It also got new priority in Jetstream and a great recovery move in Recrystalize, which heals two-thirds of its max HP in the hail it sets. However, it lacks coverage outside of Signal Beam, Hurricane, and Freeze-Dry, and its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock can make switching in risky. Overall, Articuno got a new niche but still probably won't be OU.

Mega Blastoise: Gained a much-needed buff in Rinse Off so it can survive longer, especially if you decide to use it as your hazard remover. It also appreciates the changes to Mega Launcher (giving Flash Cannon a boost now), which helps it deal with the many Pokemon that gained a Fairy typing in SylveMons like Musharna, Cresselia, and Celebi/Jirachi/Manaphy/Victini. That being said, Flash Cannon doesn't help it deal with opposing Water-types any better, and Rinse Off being added to its movepool only worsens its 4 moveslot syndrome. Is Mega Blastoise good enough for SylveMons OU? Maybe not, but it does have a unique niche as a bulky, non-passive spinner with reliable recovery and plenty of offensive options.

Granbull: Its new Fairy/Dark typing gives it STAB on Crunch and its new Sucker Punch, and it gained Strong Jaw which boosts the power of Crunch and its other biting moves (i.e., elemental fangs). It also got Belly Drum which can allow it to wreak havoc, if only it didn't have a terrible base 45 speed stat...what's that? Being slow isn't necessarily a terrible thing in SylveMons?

We've made quite some progress on getting the meta in (Check the doc for info) so here we are at movepool distributions! (Abilities afterwards)

Here's the template to add a move to a Pokemon's movepool
this.modData('Learnsets', 'pokemon').learnset.move= ['7L1'];
this.modData('Learnsets', 'pokemon').learnset.move= ['7L1'];

The Pokemon and the move shouldn't have any spacing or hypens between them so write Porygon-Z as porygonz and Will-O-Wisp as willowisp.

Here's Flame Bullet's example
Code:
// Flame Bullet
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'octillery').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'toucannon').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'celesteela').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'solrock').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'genesect').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'clawitzer').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'charmander').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'charmeleon').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'charizard').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'magby').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'magmar').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'magmortar').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'numel').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'camerupt').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'heatmor').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'fennekin').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'braixen').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'delphox').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'volcanion').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'salazzle').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
  this.modData('Learnsets', 'salandit').learnset.flamebullet = ['7L1'];
Moves here from Flame Bullet to Psywave and Trick Room to Inverse Room (Exclude the ones in which the distribution says all "X" types for now and also moves reduction in Wild Charge and Bug Bite) for the ones volunteering.
You can reserve moves here before starting so that no two users put in time on the same move.

Hello everyone!! I am alive after about six months of ignoring this place. Sorry I’ve been gone so long! Yoshiblaze ‘s video inspired me to return. I’d link it but it’s on mobile. So, I have to ask.

What did I miss?

I’m so proud to see how SylveMons has blossomed since I left. I now shall take my place as rightful leader of the Pet Mod once more! Yoshiblaze will still be the co-leader though. AquaticPanic and Ludicrousity , consider yourselves.... Part of the council.
