When will the next slate be?
Sylvemons is finished, we already have a lot of additions and want to prevent the mod from being overloaded with too much new stuff. This also means that the only changes that we do from now on are mainly for consistency (Like how we made every two-turn move that had a type corresponding to a weather be able to insta activate on that weather or how every move that hits twice was made into 50 BP)

I could’ve sworn that Yoshiblaze’s post said balance slates or when Isle of Armor is released.
You did remember correctly that I did say that the next slate was to be when IoA released

However, I said that in January when I was under the assumption that we'd get more mons to change than just Galarian Slowbro and the Kubfu line and since we really don't want to bloat the mod with unnecessary changes in a normal slate, we're deciding to hold off on another slate like the Gen 8 slate until Crown Tundra, as we have at least 7 confirmed new mons in addition to G-Slowbro and the Kubfu line to change.

However, the other possibility was a balance slate, which I said may happen after we get everything coded. I have have working on a lot of the easy code recently and once the usual Dragon Heaven coders get around to adding the harder stuff (I believe both usual coders are currently having PC issues, so not immediately), we could be seeing a balance slate sooner rather than later

Update:

The biggest hurdle to SylveMons having another slate is that SylveMons has not been playable in forever due to a back up in uncoded things and Gen 8 releasing. However, due to recent additions to the code, if the problem of most metas crashing the validators is fixed, then I'm happy to announce that SylveMons will soon be playable again, after the next pull request is merged and the problem with the validator is hopefully remedied

However, not everything will be usable when SylveMons becomes playable again, so here is a list of the things that are yet to be coded
Magic Room
Hot Tag
Sinister Arrow Raid
Malicious Moonsault
Oceanic Operetta
Dig
Dive
Fly
Shadow Force
Phantom Force
Let's Snuggle Forever
Inhale
Mimic
Eternabeam
(moves do have their distribution coded if applicable, which is relevant for Mimic and Magic Room)

Home-Run Bat
Photocopier
Hot Potato
Grudge Dagger
Nocut Berry
Focus Band

Mind Trick
Time Warp
Dark Rising
Insider
Shadow Tag
Mimetism
Oblivious
Accumulate

Deerling & Sawsbuck Summer/Autumn/Winter
Unfezant-Male

And here are things that are usable but are missing something minor about them
Reverse Core (still banned)
Quick Feet (doesn't prevent full paralysis)
Cursed Body (Taunt effect will still work on a Substitute)

I'll be sure to announce when SylveMons is playable again, so stay tuned!

I feel like it’d be inconsiderate to say this, but you’d think that Dig, Dive, Fly and Shadow/Phantom Force would be a matter of copying Solar Beam/Blade and making the relevant changes.

I do think this would work but since I'm not 100% sure that it will, I'll hold off on adding it until after SylveMons is playable and add it in the update after

After nearly a month of coding, I am happy to announce that Gen 8 SylveMons is now NEARLY FULLY PLAYABLE on Dragon Heaven!
Big shoutouts to charizard8888 and Scoopapa for helping me with a lot of the code and fixing the bugs that came with it.
With SylveMons now being playable, you can finally go a use the new changes made to Gen 8 mons, as well as all of the previously uncoded changes from the end of Gen 7. Below, I'm going to put a ton of useful information for playing Gen 8 SylveMons that will also be posted in the SylveMons Resources thread

- In order to allow the metagame to be playable with my limited knowledge of coding, you may notice that the team validator may validate illegal things. Because of this, you have to make absolute sure that your sets are legal. To help in this, move compatibility no longer matters, so you can have a No Guard Fissure Machamp (which isn't broken since the OHKO moves are Overheat clones anyway) or a Wish + Teleport Blissey. There are also multiple Pokemon and items that are banned, which can be seen the Hide box below. Assume that anything that's not banned is legal, including unreleased things, notably Floette-Eternal, Zarude, Custap Berry, and Gems
UBERS (based on the National Dex Banlist + Some bans from last Gen)

- Since everything gets validated by the teambuilder, please, please, PLEASE verify your teams using /dt AND the archive to make sure that they're legal. A couple abilities have yet to be distributed (particularly Cold Blood and Loudspeaker), so it's important to check both /dt and the archive if you wish to use them. The Changes by Pokemon page is the most up-to-date and reliable resource.
- This is especially important when using Pokemon that lost abilities, like Rillaboom losing Grassy Surge for Loudspeaker or Blaziken losing Speed Boost for Sole Caliber

- Also make sure to put Mega Evolutions in the teambuilder unmega'd, as a current bug allows Pokemon to come into battle already Mega Evolved with their base form's ability

- Typings, including changed typings, are always visible

- Furthermore, I say that SylveMons is nearly fully playable as there are a few things that are not coded yet and a few bugs, which are stated below. As far as we know, only one of the bugs can crash battles, but if you find any, please let me, AquaticPanic, Scoopapa, or charizard8888 know.
Uncoded:

Moves:
Magic Room
Hot Tag
Sinister Arrow Raid
Malicious Moonsault
Oceanic Operetta
Dig (will be coded soon)
Dive (will be coded soon)
Fly (will be coded soon)
Shadow Force (will be coded soon)
Phantom Force (will be coded soon)
Let's Snuggle Forever
Inhale
Mimic
Eternabeam

Items:
Home-Run Bat
Photocopier
Hot Potato
Grudge Dagger
Nocut Berry
Focus Band

Abilities:
Mind Trick
Time Warp (still has old effect)
Insider
Shadow Tag
Mimetism
Oblivious
Accumulate
Stalwart

Pokemon:
Deerling & Sawsbuck changes for non-Spring forms
Unfezant-Male

Bugs:
Dark Rising is only able to boost Attack
Acid Melt isn't super effective on Steel-types (will still hit Steel-types, however)
Shield Slam doesn't factor in Defense stage boosts like Body Press does
Megas can come pre-Mega'd with their base form's abilities
Quick Feet doesn't prevent paralysis
Cursed Body's Taunt effect can work on opponents behind Substitutes
Weather Warrior's Crystal doesn't work in Rain
Safety Socks & Tricky Seed crash battles when they would activate - please use Heavy-Duty Boots and Room Service, they do the same things
A Galarian Darmanitan holding a RageCandyBar turns into a Unovan Zen Mode Darmanitan
Anger Point, Infuriation, Perseverance, and Stalwart don't activate

- If you want to use Ubers and Dynamax, there is also now a SylveMons AG metagame, where you can do basically whatever within the bounds of the mod, including using changes to Ubers like Drizzle Lugia and Psychic/Poison Deoxys

- If you didn't already know, to use new moves, items, and abilities, you must manually type them in using the Import/Export button above the Pokemon. This does not have to be done for moves, items, and abilities that already exist; they'll show up as illegal but as long as it's on the sheet or in /dt, it's legal.

- Silvally can now change typings with Z-Crystals, but the sprite itself doesn't change, so out of courtesy, please use the matching Silvally sprite with the matching Z-Crystal
For those new to the metagame, here are some things to remember when building a team for OU

:sm/sylveon:
Metagame Overview
SylveMons is a very offensive metagame based on NatDex. There are numerous offensive threats to watch out for, particularly Zeraora, Kartana, Mega Aerodactyl, Hawlucha, Keldeo, and Mega Scizor, as well as new threats in Cinderace and Dragapult. While full-on Stall is usually unviable, there are still multiple very good bulky Pokemon that can alleviate the pressure put on by offensive threats, like Toxapex, Jirachi, Blissey, Chansey, Tapu Fini, Zapdos, Corviknight, and Ferrothorn. Due to how common reliable hazard control is (more on that in the next section), Aurora Veil is a much preferred Hyper Offense style to Sticky Web. Otherwise, the most common playstyles are Balance, VoltTurn, and Weather Offense.

:sm/blissey::sm/jirachi::sm/tapu fini::sm/zapdos:
Hazard Removal
Hazard Removal is a completely different game in SylveMons thanks to the ability Housekeeping, which removes hazards on switch-in. 4 Pokemon get the ability, 3 of which being OU viable, being Chansey, Blissey, and Jirachi, the latter two also sporting new secondary Fairy-typings as well. This means that either Blissey or Jirachi will be a team's best choice for hazard removal due to their ease of getting in and role compression they offer. While Jirachi was the king of SylveMons last generation, this gen may belong to Blissey as Heavy-Duty Boots and access to a legal WishPort may make Blissey even more splashable than Jirachi was, while Jirachi may lean towards more offensive sets. Defoggers like Tapu Fini, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz are perfectly viable as well if Blissey or Jirachi can't fit your team

:sm/serperior::sm/keldeo::sm/dragapult::sm/sceptile:
Items
Not many new items in SylveMons make much of an impact, but 1 set of items sits above all else: the Torment items. The torment items are like the choice items (Anguish Bandanna for Attack, Distress Glass for Special Attack, and Agony Boots for Speed). But instead of boosting the stat in question 1.5x at the cost of being locked into one move, the Torment items boost each stat by 1.33x but force you to use a different move every turn much. Since a Torment effect is a fair trade off for some extra power and speed for some Pokemon and they can easily be bluffed, you must always be wary of the possibility of a Torment item on an offensive Pokemon, especially Agony Boots. However, due to the forced switching of moves rule, they aren't the best items for something with a single spammable move, so Choice items and Life Orb may still be preferred for some mons. Below are some important Speed tiers to consider with Agony Boots. The Swords of Justice, Serperior, and Infernape all commonly use Torment items. Another much less common item is the Blue Herb, which is a lot like the White Herb but instead of reseting lowered stats, it inverts all stats when 1 is lowered, essentially a 1 time Topsy-Turvy on oneself. While not many Pokemon can use it effectively, Dragapult and Sceptile can use Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm to get to +2 SpA and sweep using their high speed stats (especially with Sceptile's Unburden).

Signature Items
The other impactful items in SylveMons are signature items. Light Ball now work on Pichu, Raichu, and the rest of the Pikaclones (Azumarill and Mimikyu don't count) and now I think you see why Raichu, Emolga, AND Togedemaru all made it to OU last gen while Zeraora languished in UU. Meanwhile, there are also new signature items tied to form changes for Meloetta-Pirouette (Relic Charm), Darmanitan-Zen (RageCandyBar), and Wishiwashi-School (Graduation Scale). Keep these items in mind when seeing these Pokemon in team preview, especially for Darmanitan as the rest of the team's components can allow you to predict which Darmanitan it is. Signature items also can no longer be knocked off on their appropriate Pokemon, so keep that in mind before trying to cripple a Marowak-Alola with Knock Off

:sm/tornadus::sm/houndoom-mega::sm/altaria::sm/eevee:
Weather & Terrain
If you like weather, there's a LOT of weather in SylveMons. Tornadus gets the new Forecast, which allows it to set any weather if it holds the right weather. Damp Rock and Smooth Rock are the most common Tornadus items, though the Heat Rock can be useful as well as it's the only form with Special dual STAB, though the new Shadow Rock gives pseudo-STAB to Dark Pulse. Speaking of which, there are 2 new weathers in Shadow Sky and Air Current. The former boosts the power of Ghost and Dark-type moves by 1.5x while Air Current gives Hurricane perfect accuracy and weakens Electric, Rock, and Ice-type moves vs Flying-types by 0.75x. Weather and Terrains overall have a ton of new setters, so I recommend that you Ctrl+F your preferred weather or terrain ability on the Changes by Pokemon page of the archive and see what you can do.
A ton of Pokemon likely have some sort of niche in OU, so this list may not cover all of them (or may even cover too many of them) but it should be good enough to help with teambuilding

This mod is amazing! I'll be on the server and check it out. One thing I'd like to see is a "Sample Cores" (or even "Sample Teams") slate. Right now I could use some advice with all the options.

Yoshiblaze For Shield Slam, you could C/P Body Press and change the typing accordingly. Same for Acid Melt and Freeze-Dry. Unless I have zero idea how coding moves works and this is more complicated than I’m making it seem/you already did that.

I'll have a longer post out later today (hopefully) that addresses both of these, but for Acid Melt, I did recently fix Acid Melt so it works exactly how it's supposed to. I could do the same for Shield Slam but long story short, it's seemingly a bit more complicated than just C/Ping so I don't wanna mess with it quite yet

Remember that long post a promised a couple days ago? Well, here it is!

Firstly, the here been some recent updates pertaining to bugs that have been detailed below
Recently Fixed Bugs
- It's been fixed for awhile now, but Toxic Spikes now work properly unlike last generation
- Melmetal, Landorus-Therian, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, and Zygarde-10% were unbanned after being accidentally banned
- Assault Shield was fixed to no longer crash when a Pokemon sent out with it was sent out
- Weather Ball now correctly doubles in power in weather and becomes Ghost-type under Shadow Sky
- Weather Warrior's Crystal now works in Rain
- Light Ball now works for Morpeko
- Anger Point, Infuriation, Perseverance, and Stalwart now work properly
- Acid Melt is now super effective against Steel-types

Bugs that will be fixed in the next update
- Guillotine, Behemoth Blade, Stalwart Sword, and Meteor Assault will correctly be boosted by Knight's Blade
- Shark Bait will correctly display the "You might be trapped" message for Water-types (currently does so for Steel-types even though it can't trap Steel-types)
- Sole Caliber will now boost Triple Axel and Stomping Tantrum and will no longer incorrectly boost Guillotine, Behemoth Blade, and Meteor Assault
- The Natu will correctly be Psychic/Flying-type instead of pure Psychic
- Ice Punch and Ice Fang will have their flinch chance nerfed from 20% to 10%
- Drum Beating will correctly be a Sound move
- Deoxys-Defense will be unbanned

Current Bugs
- Dark Rising - Can only boost Attack
- Reverse Core - Crashes the server if in a situation where type effectiveness would be reversed (Relevant to AG)
- Mind Trick - Causes the battle to crash as soon as a Pokemon with the ability is sent out (currently not coded)
- Mimic Orb - Does not activate
- Shield Slam - Doesn't factor in Defense stage boosts like Body Press does
- Safety Socks - Crash battles when they would activate - please use Heavy-Duty Boots it does the same thing
- Quick Feet - Doesn't prevent full paralysis (likely to be fixed soon)
- RageCandyBar - A Galarian Darmanitan holding a RageCandyBar turns into a Unovan Darmanitan-Zen (Relevant to AG)
- Cursed Body - Cursed Body's Taunt effect can work on opponents behind Substitutes
- Mega Evolutions - Can come pre-Mega'd with their base form's abilities

Now for the bigger task at hand, the council (AquaticPanic and I) have created a preliminary OU Tier List, which will give newcomers a general idea of what''s truly viable in SylveMons OU.

The list is split into OU and UUBL, with UUBL functioning as a list of Pokemon that are OU viable but not to the same extent as those in OU and/or Pokemon we believe would be too good for UU, which now exists as well

Below the tierlist, every Pokemon name leads a page that gives a sample set for the mon in question. Thus, this tier list serves as Sample Sets for every single Pokemon in OU, so I hope this serves as a useful resource for anyone interested in playing SylveMons!

Some Updates:

First, and probably most importantly, we have sample teams now! I know that teambuilding is the biggest obstacle for people trying to get into the meta, so here's a little help with that with these 7 teams (click on the sprites for the paste):

:jirachi::cinderace::serperior::zeraora::aerodactyl-mega::toxapex: - Standard Bulky Offense
:scizor-mega::infernape::blissey::toxapex::dragapult::raichu: - Standard Bulky Offense but with BlissPex

:blissey::registeel::clefable::victreebel::toxapex::sableye-mega: - Victreebel Stall
:crawdaunt::cresselia::stakataka::camerupt-mega::conkeldurr::slowbro: - Trick Room

Secondly, we now have a super preliminary Viability Rankings for Gen 8 SylveMons OU!
Like I said, this is in the very early stages as most of these placements come from me testing against myself as best I can, but this should still give you a general idea of what's viable in the tier until we're able to get more PvP going
The VR has sample sets added to it as well and both the VR and sample teams will be added to the SylveMons Resources thread

know that teambuilding is the biggest obstacle for people trying to get into the meta, so here's a little help with that with these 7 teams
Did I say 7? I meant 18. The goal was to make at least 1 team for as many different archetypes as possible so that any type of player can try out SylveMons without having to worry about teambuilding from the start while adding variety to many in the case that everyone uses sample teams, at least there's the same 18 teams going around instead of the same 3.

The Teams (including the 7 in the above post; click the sprites to access them):
:jirachi::cinderace::serperior::zeraora::aerodactyl-mega::toxapex: - Standard Bulky Offense
:scizor-mega::infernape::blissey::toxapex::dragapult::raichu: - Standard Bulky Offense but with BlissPex

With Crown Tundra now released, considering how the new changes buffed many Pokemon that were already good competitively, it's no surprise that a lot of Pokemon in SylveMons got massive buffs thanks to the update. I'll highlight a few of those changes here.

:sm/kabutops:
Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Aquatic Assault
- Psycho Cut / Leech Life
- Swords Dance / Flip Turn

While outclassed in OU by another Swift Swim user I'll talk about later, the additions of Psycho Cut and Flip Turn make Kabutops a pretty appealing as a Swift Swim user in lower tiers, with it being able to keep momentum with Flip Turn and chunk physical walls with Psycho Cut.

:sm/aerodactyl-mega:
Aerodactyl @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dual Wingbeat
- Stone Edge
- Thunder Fang / Ice Fang / Fire Fang / Roost

Honestly, this thing is just.... dumb.
Mega Aerodactyl was already a Top 3 Mega in the metagame but now you gave it a ridiculously good setup move in DDance and a better STAB move in the buffed Dual Wingbeat, being a ridiculous 130 BP after Tough Claws, being slightly stronger than its already ridiculous STAB Pluck when it removes an item. Legitimately suspect worthy in theory, but we'll see.

:sm/zapdos:
Zapdos @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Hurricane
- Weather Ball / Toxic
- Volt Switch

Zapdos @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hurricane
- Roost
- Toxic

Zapdos has Drizzle in SylveMons, so the additions of Weather Ball and Hurricane are seriously amazing buffs for an already great mon. Now, it has a great dual combo of perfectly accurate Thunders and Hurricanes, giving Tornadus-I a run for its money as the best offensive Rain setter coming off an impressive 125 Special Attack stat.

:sm/moltres:
Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Weather Warrior's Crystal
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast / Weather Ball
- Solar Beam
- Scorching Sands
- U-turn

Moltres is literally Mega Zard Y but with U-Turn instead of Flame Bullet (though it does get Jetstream if you really want priority), so I could definitely see it having an OU niche.

:sm/dragonite:
Dragonite @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dual Wingbeat
- Extreme Speed / Roost / Fire Punch
- Earthquake

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Dual Wingbeat / Body Press
- Roost
- Haze / Toxic / Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
- River Stream / Body Press

Dragonite is pretty good in a meta where hazard removal is so prevalent, allowing it to keep its Multiscale for as long as possible. This plus a nice buff to its offensive sets with Dual Wingbeat makes it a pretty good looking sweeper. I've also been using defensive DNite recently and with the addition of a move consistent STAB in Dual Wingbeat, as opposed to Dragon Tail or Hurricane, and a great defensive move in Body Press, a set that I think is underrated just gets better.

:sm/entei:
Entei @ Anguish Bandanna / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Stalwart
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Extreme Speed
- Thunder Fang / Stomping Tantrum
- Flame Wheel

While not quite OU viable, Entei's newfound access to Flame Wheel allows to act as one of the better revenge killers in lower tiers as it has a strong priority move in ESpeed to pick off weakened sweepers and the option to Pursuit-trap them with Flame Wheel if they try to switch. If you do try to use it in OU, it can at least annoy Jirachi and Blissey while not being complete Toxapex bait, though I'd rather use Infernape or Lycanroc-Dusk for that role.

Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature

Remember when I mentioned an even better Swift Swim user at the Kabutops section. Well, yeah....
This thing is ridiculous. Bulky, super strong, can pivot on the few things that can actually switch into it, and can set up with Bulk Up to get stronger AND bulkier, it's honestly crazy. This plus buffs to both of rain's best setters make this update a huge buff to that playstyle, especially when there's no Grassy Terrain Rillaboom to singlehandedly ruin it (though you should watch out for the less common Leafage Tapu Bulu and Grassy Surge Leafeon)

Speaking of rain getting buffed, Tornadus must've heard about Zapdos getting Hurricane and Weather Ball and decided to keep its spot as the best offensive weather setter in the game by adding Nasty Plot, making so that any weather sweeper, especially physical weather sweepers like Mega Swampert, Emolga, and Excadrill, can form a deadly offensive core with it. Even without a weather teammate, Damp Rock, Shadow Rock, and Smooth Rock Tornadus sets have great STAB combos and good coverage, making Torn a great offensive mon by itself.

Its typing still absolutely sucks, but the fact that this is the lower tier version of the ridiculously good Veil setter Articuno shouldn't go unnoticed. Still faces a bit of competition from Cryogonal in that regard, but much better bulk and 66% recovery are both huge boons.

A gimmick and a half but a really funny one. Trap the opponent with Fairy Lock, Iron Defense to +6, then spam Body Press until they die. Simple as that. What's even funnier is that Carbink and Diancie are equally good at doing this thanks to having the same HP and defenses, though if you use this is a serious battle, use Diancie to bluff being a Mega set. Speaking of which, Mega Diancie gets Mystical Fire, which makes it harder for Mega Scizor to switch into, Play Rough for physical sets if you want a little bit more power than Fairy Lock, and Misty Explosion if you want your suicide lead more to hit on the Special side.

Sucks that it didn't get Grassy Glide, but CC and High Horsepower are pretty decent consolation prizes, right? Moreso in SylveMons since Rillaboom doesn't have Grassy Surge, with the Grassy Surge + Glide combo being best used by the much weaker Leafeon, so Bulu is automatically more appealing.

If you want sweeping potential, stick with Tail Glow + Z-Sleep Powder with Beast Boost and Ion Absorb, but if you want straight power then lol, here you go. 173 SpAtk and a 182 BP move, sounds about right to me. We're all lucky it's so slow.

Another very suspect worthy threat since both Housekeeping users can't even dream of switching into it

Big News!

With Crown Tundra coming out, that means that we have new Pokemon to give changes to. Like with the opening of Gen 8, myself and the council have given our own changes to all of the Pokemon introduced in Crown Tundra (and Isle of Armor since we never did that), which you can see below. However, if you have any objection, like with the Gen 8 slate, we're opening an Special Slate for the Crown Tundra Pokemon as well as the Regis (including Gigas). Like the last special slate, this slate allows you to make adjustments for any of the new mons and changes to new moves (which you can submit the usual 4). Since there's already a small amount of Pokemon available, you will be allowed to make a sub for every new Pokemon and the Regis (the Pokemon the council gave changes to are eligible for subs + Regirock, Regice, and Registeel).

You can only use pre-existing elements of SylveMons (stuff in vanilla + anything added)

Moves follow the normal moves templates, but you can only sub moves introduced in Gen 8

The council changes mostly only gave things that we added or changed in SylveMons, but your Adjustments subs can give these mons any abilities and moves you see fit, as well as remove anything from the council changes you don't agree with

Other News:

We also have a minor VR update for Crown Tundra based on impressions. Since DH is currently not updated, the new Pokemon aren't playable, so they were not included.

Update Post!
It's been about a month and with some new things going on, I figured that now's a good time for an update post!

Huge Bug Fixes
Thanks to some amazing work from Hematite, we have just recently had a HUGE update to SylveMons that a fixed a multitude of bugs, which you can see in the Hide box below, putting us that much closely to 100% code completion!
Bugs involving Inverse Room, Reverse Core, Mind Trick, Safety Socks, Shield Slam, Quick Feet, RageCandyBar, Dark Rising, and Cursed Body were fixed and they should all work properly now. Again, huge shoutout to Hematite for getting these done, and without even me asking them or anything!

Outside of those, the following bugs were also fixed since the last time I updated the thread on bugs in August:
- The moves Inverse Room, Shadow Charge, Haunting Scream, Teleport, Plume Cannon, Slipstream, Rinse Off, Acid Melt, Morning Sun, Moonlight, Synthesis, Pluck, Bug Bite, Incinerate, Double Hit, Double Kick, Twineedle, Dual Chop, Seed Bomb, Sonic Boom, Psywave, Dragon Rage, Gear Grind, Shadow Sky, and Air Current now have the correct amount of PP instead of an inflated glitched number
- The move Storm Strike now changes types and doubles in power in Shadow Sky and Air Current (its internal code was changed to directly match Weather Ball as well)
- Misty Terrain now boosts Fairy-type moves like it's supposed to be instead of Electric-type moves
- All-Terrain Blast no longer crashes battles when used in terrains
- A Pokemon with Forecast holding a Shadow Rock now correctly becomes a secondary Ghost-type instead of a Dark-type
- Drum Beating, Heartbeat, Haunting Scream, and Metal Sound now go through Substitute because they are sound moves
- Splintered Stormshards no longer crashes battles when used

Looking for People to Play Against?
If you're looking for people to play against, especially with all these new bug fixes, I highly recommend going to the Dragon Heaven as recently there's been a decent spike in SylveMons' popularity, meaning that now is a better time than ever. Plus, I'm almost always available, you can just ping me on Discord or ping the Flareon role in the SylveMons Discord (link below)

If interest in SylveMons continues to go up, we could even see ladder/room tournaments in the future, so stay tuned for anything on that

Crown Tundra Slate
Since no one has submitted anything for the Crown Tundra Special Slate, I will be closing this slate and we'll move forward with the council changes. However, since we definitely all forgot about that slate existing, if you have any changes that you really, really, really, REALLY want to get out there, then let me know here or on Discord

Potential Bans and Nerfs
The council has recently started discussing potential bans and nerfs to take place in our chaotic metagame. We'd love to here discussion on the following topics:

- :infernape:Overgrow/Blaze/Torrent/Swarm/Battery:primarina:- These abilities are Steelworker clones for their respective types, boosting their power by 1.5x. Since almost every Pokémon with these abilities also has STAB on those moves, these Pokémon get free 2.25x power boosts on these moves, which combined with the good stats that many of these Pokémon have, enable some Dracovish levels of oppressive power, particularly from the likes of Infernape, Typhlosion, Primarina, Volcarona, and Inteleon. These abilities are definitely the top thing on our nerfing radar, with the likely outcome being a nerf from 1.5x damage to 1.3x or even 1.2x.
- :stakataka:Stakataka:stakataka: - Yeah, maybe unbanning this wasn't a great idea. While the omnipresence of Housekeeping makes Trick Room completely unviable in theory, Stakataka kinda just throws that idea out of the window by itself. The combination of its STAB Gyro Ball murdering every Pokémon with Housekeeping, Heat Crash and Earthquake being great coverage options to handle the few things that wall it, an amazing defensive typing that only leaves it weak to Sucker Punch and Flame Bullet in terms of priority, the ability to set its own Trick Room up if a Housekeeping user manages to get in on it, Beast Boost giving it huge snowball potential, and it's own priority in STAB Shadow Sneak to make it threatening even outside of Trick Room, plus the existence of Room Extender and Macho Brace, all come together to make Stakataka an extremely oppressive Pokémon to go up against, so it's also very high up on the ban radar. The likely outcome will be a ban, but there's also a slight possibly of a nerf to make it Ghost/Rock rather than Ghost/Steel.
- :zeraora:Ring Target:espeon: - In SylveMons, the Ring Target item allows the user to ignore type-based immunities when attacking, like SylveMons' version of Scrappy. As you could imagine, this level of low-risk high-reward gameplay causes some problems, particularly with Pokémon like Zeraora, Dracozolt, Serperior, and Espeon being able to spam their extremely powerful STAB moves without having to worry about their best counterplay, and even unreleased stuff (due to DH not being updated for CT just yet) like Regieleki and Regidrago look set to cause huge problems. Thus, the item will likely be banned.
- Some other Pokémon were brought up when discussing bans/nerfs, like Mega Aerodactyl, Tornadus-Incarnate, Mega Swampert, and Articuno, as well as the item Room Extender, though the council isn't looking to mess with them quite yet.

That's all for now, but stay tuned for any other news regarding SylveMons, especially as we continue to grow!

Another Update Post!
There's a couple HUGE pieces of news this time around!

SylveMons now has a Pokemon Showdown client!
I wasn't lying when I said there would be huge news

Thanks to Petuuuhhh, SylveMons now has a Pokemon Showdown client, which makes teambuilding 1000x easier as you'll be able to see every Pokemon's updated movesets, move data, typings, abilities, and items right in the teambuilder! And in battle, you'll be able to see the typings of the opponent's Pokemon and possible abilities, making guessing what you're opponent has a lot easier! Again, huge thanks to Petuuuhhh

The link to the client can be found here: https://sylvemons.herokuapp.com/#

It isn't 100% accurate since it's missing stuff that isn't coded yet, like the distribution of the ability Cold Blood and the additions from the Crown Tundra slate, so be sure to also check the archive to see if something's missing

And you're gonna want to use the client because of this next announcement

A SylveMons Draft League
Petuuuhhh and I are looking to host a draft league for SylveMons! If you don't know what a draft league is or are new to draft leagues, I recommend watching this video for a quick explanation on how draft leagues work

It's still in preliminary stages, but if you're interested in participating, then be sure to join the SylveMons Discord (link in box below) and contact me. We're looking for ~8 people to participate

Update on Uncoded and Bugged Stuff
Thanks to the last update, SylveMons is almost fully coded at this point, with just a few things left to do. Furthermore, there are also hardly any major bugs to work out, so the majority of your battles should go completely smoothly! I want to extend huge thanks to inkbug and Scoopapa for fixing a lot of bugs when DragonHeaven was updated as a whole.

Here is everything and is currently bugged or uncoded
- Mimic Orb - Does not activate
- Shadow Sky / Air Current - Top left corner will still say that they're active after they end
- Dark Rising - Doesn't activate if Shadow Sky becomes active while this Pokémon is already on the field (this might be intentional as the ability description specifies "if this Pokémon switches in while Shadow Sky is active")
- Body Press - Does way less damage than it's supposed to and doesn't take Defense boosts into consideration; seems to be the same bug Shield Slam used to have
- Stamina clones - Activate when the user uses certain moves on themselves (currently the only move that has been found to do this is Synthesis, so it's likely that all healing moves do this)
Magic Room
Hot Tag
Malicious Moonsault
Oceanic Operetta
Dive
Dig
Fly
Shadow Force
Phantom Force
Shed Leaves
Let's Snuggle Forever
Inhale
Mimic
Mirror Move
Home-Run Bat
Photocopier
Hot Potato
Grudge Dagger
Nocut Berry
Focus Band
Time Warp
Insider (Distribution is coded)
Shadow Tag
Mimetism (Distribution is coded)
Oblivious
Accumulate
Other Deerling/Sawsbuck forms
Unfezant-Male

That's all for now, so stay tuned for anymore updates!

Another Update Post Part 2!

A few more major things have happened over the last 30 hours, so let's run through them!

The Role Compendium has been updated for Generation 8!

Another thing that'll make teambuilding a lot easier, the Role Compendium has been updated! If you need a certain role filled on your team, you'll have no trouble finding a viable option on here

The bar (|) separates Pokemon on the VR and Pokemon not on the VR but still worth a mention

Let's cut right to the chase: Introducing SylveMons UU!

SylveMons UU now has an official tierlist! Now, unlike OU, not a ton of playtesting has been done in UU, so it's still a very wide open tier, and as such, expect things to come and go as time goes on. For now, if you're ever tired of the Infernapes, the Housekeepers, or the Rats of OU, give SylveMons UU a shot!

Having a UU Tierlist also means that SylveMons RU is now in existence, as this serves as RU's banlist, which is very exciting!

Also, during the creation of the tierlist, multiple Pokemon were seen as a bit too strong to be in UU and thus will be moved up to UUBL and ranked on the OU VR if they weren't already. This includes the following:

:spectrier: UU -> UUBL, UR -> B
:inteleon: UU -> UUBL, UR -> B
:primarina: UU -> UUBL, UR -> B-
:xurkitree: UU -> UUBL, Stays in B-

Yeah it's been a busy 3 weeks, cuz it's update time again!

Another Showdown Client for SylveMons
We already have a SylveMons specific client (found here) but, if you haven't heard already, we now have a client for not only SylveMons, but for a multitude of other Pet Mods with the DragonHeaven client (found here). Not only can you teambuild and play SylveMons, you can learn about and play many other great Pet Mods, like Megas for All, Clean Slate, Fusion Evolution Alpha, Roulettemons, and more!

As for which client you should use when talking about just SylveMons, the DragonHeaven client is the best client to use for beginners, as showing what tiers every mon is in is an extremely helpful feature absent from the SylveMons client. However for battling, I recommend the SylveMons client since it shows accurate and useful in-battle information the DH client cannot, since we have to share it.

np: Gen 8 SylveMons OU Stage 1 - Break the Targets
Yeah, you're seeing that right from the "np" thing that tiers do, we're actually banning stuff! Over the last few months of Gen 8 Sylvemons OU existing, the council has noticed a number of broken and/or uncompetitive things that are finally getting addressed. Without further adieu, the following things have been banned:

Ring Target
In SylveMons, the Ring Target makes it so that the holder's moves ignore type-based immunities, exactly like the buffed version of Scrappy in SylveMons. While giving Scrappy to select few Pokemon proved to be just fine (well Raichu is a bit silly and pre-Kommonium ban Kommo-o was just dumb, but still), allowing any Pokemon to have this ability in the form of an item and then have their normal ability on top of that proved to be too much. From Serperior being able to set up with Draco Meteor on Blissey, to Espeon hitting Dark-types with Expanding Force, and the biggest culprit, Electric-types like Regieleki and Zeraora being able to just ignore the best counterplay to their nuclear powered moves, we felt that it would be to ban this item.

:dracovish:Dracovish:dracovish:
This is should really come as no surprise, it's Dracovish. Not exactly broken, especially in a very fast metagame, but it still manages to be uncompetitive here, Fishious Rend will always be a toxic move to have to deal with, completely invalidating most walls if Banded, and murdering everything frail under Tailwind or Sand Rush. Much like OU and NatDex before us, the thing is simply not competitive. Oh, and I didn't even mention the buffs it got, like a pivoting move in River Stream. If (and hopefully when) we do balancing slates, I really hope someone fixes this thing.

Ice Skates
An item that we actually haven't discussed at all this generation, but its effect makes it an obvious candidate for a ban. Ice Skates give the user the effects of Slush Rush, doubling the Speed of the holder in Hail, and in a metagame where Hail is probably the 2nd best weather and Aurora Veil Hyper Offense is one of the best playstyles, giving any of the terrifying offensive behemoths that run amok in SylveMons doubled speed is a recipe for disaster, and thus will be banned.

Along with bans, we also have some nerfs to dish out, a couple of which are WAY overdue:

:stakataka:Stakataka - Steel/Ghost -> Rock/Ghost:stakataka:
Yeah, as it turns out, nerfing Time Warp and having the omnipresent Housekeeping around was not enough to keep this monster from eviscerating the entire tier. Under Trick Room, Stakataka's amazing defensive typing and nuclear powered Gyro Ball made it one of the most terrifying and hard to kill sweepers in the game, as all 3 Housekeeping users can't switch into it, it's super bulky, and only weak to uncommon priority, and it only walled by a select few mons (Phys Def Umbreon, Mega Steelix, and Ferrothorn if not running Heat Crash). Overall, it was a bit too overwhelming to keep in its current state, so a nerf was in order. Changing its type to Rock/Ghost keeps it as pretty terrifying, without as nuclear-powered as a STAB as Gyro Ball was, it should be a a lot easier to manage. Its previous counters are better at beating it, and it gains a few new checks and counters like Shuca Berry Empoleon, Landorus-Therian, Mega Scizor, Metagross, Corviknight, Skarmory, and more. However, it has a terrifying STAB combo and the common bulky Waters check it a little worse now, so it's still at the top of our suspect radar.

:espeon:Espeon - Expanding Force removed:espeon:
Remember when we were all disappointed that Tapu Lele didn't get Expanding Force? This is why. Espeon had literally zero switch-ins other than the fairly uncommon Tyranitar to a set of Expanding Force/Dazzling Gleam/Psyshock/Aura Sphere due to sheer nuclear power of Psychic Terrain-boosted Expanding Force provided by Espeon's Psychic Surge ability. While the obvious answer would be to remove Psychic Surge since that's the custom element here, due to the symmetry it has with the other Eeveelutions, that is not possible, so we have to go this route. Espeon is still exceptionally powerful with All-Terrain Blast, but it least more than just Tyranitar can handle it now.

Torment items - Now display a message on switch-in
Another extremely important part of the metagame, we have the Torment items. While they definitely aren't broken, the Agony Boots in particular raise a huge problem for newer players. Much like the Choice Scarf would for newer players, newer players likely won't know that a certain Pokemon like Kartana or Serperior typically runs the boots, so they'll get outsped and think "Oh, it's Scarfed" just for it to switch their moves. This can be seen as a bit uncompetitve and could even lose you the game against some of the more menacing sweepers with it, namely Kartana and Garchomp, so it's best to help new players by making it clear when a Pokemon is holding a torment item. The message won't say which item it is, but it will still allow the player to mentally prepare and play around it.

Overgrow/Blaze/Torrent/Swarm/Battery - Now are only active below 50% HP
Infernape haters rejoice, you finally receive salvation. Theses Steelworker clones have been the subject of much debate as of late, mostly due to a certain Fire/Fighting monkey, but as it became more apparent just how problematic the ability is, its reach extended behind the monkey. Inteleon, Primarina, Typhlosion, and Volcarona are terrifying monsters with these abilities, with even the special walling blob itself, Blissey, not being able to effectively handle them, giving them almost Dracovish levels of power. So a nerf was in order and to keep them buffed but retain the spirit of their original versions, they now only activate at below 50% HP. You can still get your ludicrious power, but you gotta work for it now. Sorry Eruption Typhlosion

All of the above updates will be live after the next server restart

Tier VR Changes
Due to the massive bans and nerfs that have taken place, a number of tier and VR changes are in order:

Bugs
Lastly, here's an update on the current bugs in the game

Surging Strikes & Wicked Blow - Don't always critically hit (may apply to all guaranteed crit moves)

And that's all for this very eventful update! Look for more news in the future!
