Pet Mod SylveMons (Discussion Phase)

Not sure how these will go, but here’s my attempt at making the OHKO moves into Leaf Storm variants. Let me know if I should widen the distribution for these.

3. Mimic / Mirror Move by Stitch98 - -- BP, -- Acc, 24 PP, Copies last move used by the opponent and uses it immediately; the move replaces Mimic / Mirror Move in user's moveset until it switches out (Z-Move uses the Z-Move version of the copied move)

Items:
1. Focus Band by AquaticPanic - First hit taken by the holder deals 20% less damage, item breaks afterwards

Abilities:
1. Cold Blood by Stitch98 - Holder is immune to Fire-type moves and recovers 25% of its max HP instead of being hit by any of them; holder recovers 1/8 of its max HP at the end of every turn under Harsh Sunlight; Ice-type moves inflict 25% more damage and holder loses 1/8 of its max HP at the end of every turn (instead of 1/16) under Hail.

Proxy. Accumulate by Stitch98 - The holder gains 1 Stockpile upon being hit by a move, and it also raises its Defense and Special Defense by 1; the effect activates a maximum of 3 consecutive times and it resets if holder switches out or uses Swallow or Spit Up.

Next begins the last Distribution phase, so be sure to discuss what Pokemon should get these new moves and abilities either here or on the Discord!

Also, because of the Totems receiving Beast Boost, Totem Togedemaru and Totem Kommo-o are quickbanned as they are both top tier threats that just become stupid with Beast Boost. Ribombee, Marowak, and Vikavolt are also all worth keeping an eye for

And that concludes Slate 15! In my "Obligatory Discussion Post" I'll do more of a send-off to SylveMons (until Gen 8) but I have to say, it's been quite a ride.

Now begins a Discussion phase basically until Gen 8, so be sure to discuss how the changes made effect the meta either here or on Discord!

The Last Obligatory Discussion Post before Gen 8!

Over 2 years ago, Reviloja753 opened SylveMons

Back then, we could only sub 2 things per ctaegory
Back then, Pokemon Adjustments didn't exist
Back then, Pet Mods as a whole weren't exactly competitive yet

2 years later, look at how far we've come

This has always been my favorite Pet Mod due to how much flexibility you have with it while still being restricted enough to not break anything (well, except that time we broke the metagame with Trick Room... or that time Alolan Raichu broke the meta...). And while activity has waned in the later days, it's the end of the generations and we're still doing pretty well if I do say so myself.

Looking back, we've had
- 2 Opens in the PMGS, one of only 2 Pet Mods to accomplish that
- A Resource Thread with up-to-date Viability Rankings and 12 Analyses
- A Rate-My-Team thread
- 2 of my higher viewed YouTube videos

That's not bad for a Pet Mod I'd say. And we couldn't do it without all of the people who subbed, played in tournaments, and roasted our broken metagame. Thank you.

We'll be back in Gen 8, either as a continuation of this version or restarting from new, we don't know yet but we'll let you know.

Now, on with the post

Diggersby @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fissure
- Return / Ice Punch
- U-turn
- Quick Attack

Yeah, I'd like to see you try to switch-in to this

Farfetch'd @ Stick
Ability: Knight's Blade
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Guillotine
- Brave Bird
- Leaf Blade
- Swords Dance / U-Turn

So we kinda forgot to mention that Guillotine is now a blade move, which means that this is one hard-hitting meme right here. This is probably the best Farfetch'd set since it doesn't learn Giga Impact to abuse with Hasty, so this have fun.

Swalot @ Black Sludge
Ability: Accumulate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Swallow
- Toxic
- Inhale
- Sludge Bomb / Hyper Voice / Earthquake

Swalot @ Black Sludge
Ability: Accumulate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Swallow / Rest / Pain Split / Inhale
- Curse
- Earthquake / Fire Punch / Ice Punch
- Gunk Shot

Yeah this thing looks nutty.
Eat hits with your balanced double Stamina, heal with Swallow, you have status move Knock Off that can't miss, and Toxic that can't miss, plus a decent defensive typing that sports nice Fairy and Grass resistances, which means you can just sit there and being annoying for days. It'll be niche, but this thing can just switch in on any Tapu not named Lele as well as Magearna and laugh.
Also, Curse & Growth sets. This thing learns Ice Beam and Fire Punch for some reason, so use those.

Kabutops @ Anguish Bandanna
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rollout
- Aquatic Assault
- Low Kick / Poison Jab / Aqua Jet / Knock Off
- Swords Dance

If the rain is up, pick your poison. You're in trouble when the best option for you to take a 120 BP STAB Rock-type move to the face that might have a Swords Dance on top of it.

Salamence @ Anguish Bandanna
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Rollout
- Fury Cutter

lol
Walrein, Swampert, Mew, Rhyperior, and Aggron also learn 3 Outrage moves, if you really like not choosing your moves

Scyther @ Eviolith
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fury Cutter
- U-turn / Brick Break
- Aerial Ace
- Swords Dance

Why do we keep inventing reasons for this thing to be scary?

Flygon @ Life Orb
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fury Cutter
- Dragon Dance
- U-turn

oops, we gave it its STAB Outrage back but with no immunities time lol

Mamoswine @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ice Ball
- Ice Shard
- Fissure
- Stealth Rock / Knock Off

CHOICE BANDED
ADAMANT
MAMOSWINE

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body / Cold Blood
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sheer Cold
- Shadow Ball
- Spikes
- Will-O-Wisp

Froslass was already a great lead and now we gave it role compression as now it can essentially run both Will-O-Wisp and Taunt thanks to Cursed Body. Just bring something that can beat up Jirachi like Flame Wheel Infernape and you're set
Also, it can fit on sun teams thanks to a Fire-immunity from Cold Blood.

Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
- Substitute

Y'all lucky that we nerfed Shadow Tag and we didn't drop this from Ubers. Also, the ability is fairly good for normal Gengar, though Ethereal Fist might be better for sheer power, but it does help stallbreaking as if you need that in this meta

Exploud @ Choice Specs
Ability: Loudspeaker
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA (252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe outside of Manual Trick Room)
Quiet Nature (Modest outside of Manual Trick Room)
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe (JUST 0 Atk outside of Manual Trick Room)
- Boomburst
- Focus Blast
- Surf
- Haunting Scream

LOUD NOISES

Chatot @ Life Orb
Ability: Loudspeaker
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Chatter
- Heat Wave
- Nasty Plot

LOUD NOISES except this time with set up and 126.75 BP Confusion jank

Primarina @ Choice Specs
Ability: Loudspeaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sparkling Aria
- Moonblast
- Energy Ball / Ice Beam
- Psychic / Ice Beam

LOUD NOISES except this time with the ability to be super effective on things

Ribombee @ Iron Ball / Choice Scarf / Nothing
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Sticky Web
- Quiver Dance
- U-turn

Magician in general sounds like a super nutty ability because it can be super efficient at disruption. For example, a Ribombee lead vs an unsuspecting Articuno can ruin a whole Aurora Veil team on Turn 0. Will be interesting to see how this ability fits into the metagame and if it's a little too strong

Beheeyem @ Life Orb
Ability: Time Warp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Dark Pulse
- Signal Beam
- Nasty Plot

While now that this got nerfed, it can be unbanned and now Beheeyem is a pretty scary sweeper, so it gets the jump on almost everything under Trick Room and can rip through teams with +2 STAB Psychics coming off of 125 SpA

Rapidash @ Choice Band / Anguish Bandanna
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Fairy Charge
- High Horsepower / Wild Charge
- Flame Wheel

Blaziken @ Blazikenite
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- High Jump Kick
- Swords Dance / Hidden Power [Ice]

Emboar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Wild Charge

Spam recoil moves
Just do it

Marowak-Alola-Totem @ Thick Club
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Charge
- Flare Blitz
- Bonemerang

Manual Trick Room's best sweeper just got a little scarier at the cost of a bit of longevity

Vikavolt-Totem @ Magnet
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ion Absorb
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball
- Roost

Manual Trick Room has this, too, becoming stronger than Battery Vikavolt after 2 kills, which shouldn't be hard to get

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The SylveMons Archive has been updated for Generation 8!
The front page has every Gen 8 Pomeon and Galar form listed, and they have changes decided on by the council. However, since these changes were decided by just the council and this is a community Pet Mod, we will be opening a Special Slate! If you see any changes on the archive for Gen 8 mons and don't like them, post them here with a replacement and we'll vote on those! There will be a template below.

As for SylveMons' future, we'll work on getting the last couple slates coded and then ported to Gen 8, where we will be using the National Dex and ignoring Movexit

Archive link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18DiYjbZXv1Nm7tU-W0OMgPow0ZO7J2ETJF-hWapwM-o/edit?usp=sharing
Pokemon:
Changes Received: [Put what new abilities and moves it got here]
New Typing (if any): [We didn't do any type changes, but we're allowing you to]
New Abilities (if any):
Move Additions (if any):
Reasoning:

You can only use pre-existing elements of SylveMons (stuff in vanilla + anything added)

Ability: Light Power
is a Pre-Contributor
National Dex + Ignoring Movexit, eh? [Heavy voice] Is nice. I also give a suggestion.

Pokemon: Falinks
Changes Received: [Added Moves] Stalwart Sword, Shield Slam, Spike Cannon, Double Hit, Fairy Lock, Fairy Charge, Rollout, Fell Stinger, [Added 2nd Ability] Stmaina
New Typing (if any): Fighting / Steel
Move Additions (if any)
: Steel Beam (does to Steel addition), Flash Cannon, Smart Strike
Reasoning: Similarly to their inspiration, each segment of the Falinks wears an armor. This is considering that their inspiration, would it be Spartans or similar warriors of the Greek age, do wear armors or at least a helmet. Smart Strike refers about swift but precise strikes being important, especially during an offensive formation. Steel Beam is just because of Steel addition and being a Draco Meteor styled tutor move, and Flash Cannon to reflect their shiny helmet.

You could give a bit of reasoning why.
I thought it was sort of easy to see, but if you want an explanation here goes:
-Based on sea animals, live on sea themselves and already learn a lot of water moves

-Doduo gets to be Flying-Type just bc it is a bird. I think it's fair to make the ducks Flying type too

-This one's a bit of a stretch but its got asinister looka and vikings are usually despicted as mean

Abilities: Volt Absorb / Tough Claws | HA: Sand Rush
+ Dragon Dance, Dragon Fang, Dual Chop, Dragon Rage, Volt Switch, Electric Terrain

Abilities: Volt Absorb / Motor Drive | Slush Rush
+ Curse, Ice Shard, Ice Ball, Sheer Cold, Recrystalize, Volt Switch, Electric Terrain

Abilities are ok.
+ Dragon Dance, Dragon Fang, Dual Chop, Dragon Rage, Aqua Jet, Bubble Beam, Aquatic Assault, River Stream, Rinse Off

Abilities: Water Absorb / Shark Bait | HA: Slush Rush
+ Curse, Ice Shard, Ice Ball, Sheer Cold, Recrystalize, Aqua Jet, Bubble Beam, Aquatic Assault, River Stream, Rinse Off

Motivation: all their movesets need some completion, especially with boosting moves and priority. Giving them various kind of moves will let them fill various roles in teams. I tried to keep the rules of these four mons, so every part gives access to some moves
- "Arcto-" (Ice-type): Curse, Ice Shard, Ice Ball, Sheer Cold, Recrystalize
- "Draco-" (Dragon-type): Dragon Dance, Dragon Fang, Dual Chop, Dragon Rage
- "-vish" (Water-type): Aqua Jet, Bubble Beam, Aquatic Assault, River Stream, Rinse Off
- "-zolt" (Electric-type): Volt Switch, Electric Terrain

EDIT: Sorry, I've just read some changes were already made. I added some other moves so consider only those that aren't in the sheets and the abilities, which the council didn't modify.

Even with all the changes in this meta, Dracovish is still gonna wreck face if it were in its unchanged state of being because Fishous Rend.

Anywway...

Onix Line: +Coil

Seriously they gave it Dragon Dance but not this?! Its valuable with 2 forms of Defense stat attacks and synergizes on Sheer Force Iron Tail and Rock Slide sets.

Krabby Line: +Shell Smash

Kingler and Krabby's problem has always been that it needs both agility and SD, but then lacks coverage and the meta gets harder to expend 2 turns setting up anyway. This move compresses that and crushes crab shell.

Stonjourner
Type: Rock/Ghost (Rock/Fight works too)
Abilities: Power Spot (Now boosts the user's stats as well and lasts a few turns after switching out, this part can be ignored if broken)
New Moves: Shadow Sneak, Drain Punch, Shore Up, Blaze Kick, Elemental Punches

Such an interesting mon. Its speed is respectable for a bulky rock type, even though its SpDef is laughably minmaxed in the min direction. Still, there feels like wasted potential here. I'm not sure what to do with it. I almost wish I could have this ability be active as long as this mon is alive even if not in play but a free Life Orb boost on the whole team means it could be on almost every team even if that ability were on Magikarp it would get use in top tier teams. The typing change is because Rock just falls flat defensively.

Grav/Acid Apple - Super Effectively hit Flying/Steel types respectively.
Give a fruity dragon a little bit of love? This helps with coverage immensely, as it mostly helps Neutralize a bunch of hits for its Grass STAB (since most problematic Fliers are quad resistant anyway.) It's all in the name though, Gravity flattens fliers and Acid burns through steel.
