ey CTC. b4 the meta dies, i want to see if you can make a team around this horrible innovation.

the inspiration behind the set was when i thought about making an offensive bp team (cuz it is still broken af). I thought of smth bulky and I was tired of shit like scolipede, smeargle or nasty pass toge so i thought about using scizor. scizor has p guud bulk which was one of the things i immediately realized and that he could take priority p well. however,this dude gets fk'd by mag. i kept rolling on the floor crying until i scrolled down and saw he had agility. i thought it would be a genius idea to lure in mag + fires. this basically sets up on everything that does not have a fire move or boosts. this thing passes could pass to dragonite due to it being weak to fire or getting raped by keldeo. The spread is basically to outspeed the uncommon scarf keld (or latis i don't remember) and have as much bulk as possible to take hits.

This dude wrecks face. He has a lot of power behind that 160/160/110 offenses. Diamond Storm just hits flying types hard as heck. Timid is nice cause no defense drops, but Naive might catch some KOs. Psychic cause it hits poison, same with Psyshock. Moonblast STAB, Earth Power for coverage. Last slot belongs to booster of choice.

Good partners for mega mence? Well it's gonna get banned in like 3 days. Oh well, the best partners are gothitelle, magnezone and dugtrio. No I'm actually not kidding, those three mons trap all it's counters.

Dugtrio traps heatran and tyranitar freeing up a moveslot for earthquake, magnezone traps ferrothorn and skarmory which annoy mega mence to no ends, and gothitelle traps anything I forgot to say and it poops in stalls face. Then you could run a mega mence set like so: dragon dance, double edge, refresh, roost, take out all counters and then slowly boost up and murder everyone

Of course you could also slap on a wobbuffet just for teh lulz

I want the OU council not to ban mega mence just so I can laugh at people, because too many people say it going to be banned in 3-2 weeks at most. But anyways onto the point they will probably ban it in a week or so but fire husky is right about trappers being mence's bet friend until it gets banned.

I imported the team and played around with it and actually enjoyed the playstyle. Since then, I made some changes to the team both to adjust to personal taste and to adapt it to ORAS. For starters, I wasn't sure if Prankster Fly Thundurus was new-level innovation I am incapable of understanding or a last minute fill-in, but I swapped it out for an Alomomola to help keep Gliscor and Azelf alive longer in case crap hits the fan early on. Next, I swapped out M-Hera for M-Gross and Bisharp for Greninja. The first seems to have good synergy with Kyurem-B, the second gives me a better answer for Mega-Bro while giving me something that can clean late-game without an Agility pass. Lastly I swapped out the Kyurem set you used with a standard Sub set, which relies more on the attack boost in exchange for not having to rely solely on SE hits for damage output. The end result is this:

Knowing I build teams as structurally sound as an upside-down pyramid, I thought I would seek enlightenment from you as the original architect, namely:
  1. Should I say "screw longevity" and ditch Alomomola for another offensive mon? Increased coverage would be nice, but then I only get 1, maybe two shots with Azelf and Gliscor
  2. Should I just use Gliscor for passing Speed? While I enjoy double dancing, right now he's total Taunt bait and it seems too easy for the plan to be disrupted at this point with just 1 Taunt (not to mention that Knock Off and U-Turn are such nice utility moves). If you would ditch Swords Dance, would you just swap to a QuickPass Scolipede and trade longevity for increased momentum (i.e. +2 Attack and +1 Speed after a turn vs. just +2 speed)?
  3. Is there a better offensive core than M-Gross / Kyu-B / Greninja that you would use? I really M-Gross due to him resisting or being neutral to all priority bar Sucker Punch and the rare Shadow Sneak, plus the 4 attacks sets muscle through a lot of the meta. However, I've used Kyu-B enough to know that he's pretty easy to force out in the face of a lot of mons and this is not a team that really can afford to lose momentum like that.
If you're still focusing on pre-Oras teams or if you feel that this would fair better RMT section (given more in-depth descriptions), feel free to ignore this request. Otherwise any feedback would be awesome.

Good point, I had forgotten that Defog gets rid of Screens as well (god, I don't ladder in a year and I revert to a noob -__-;). I'll go back and review the team, since now that I think about Defog I think I may have made it too easier to break through the initial set-up. At a glance though, it seems that 2 Defiant users and 2 Taunters is almost overkill if they aren't carrying a defogger (though Taunt is just nice all on its own). Either way I'll play around with it a bit more and try and come up with my own answers to these questions. CTC if you haven't already started on my request, you can ignore it since I think my experimentation may have been insufficient and I don't want to thrust too much onto you without trying to work out more on my own (though any quick pointers on things I failed to comprehend would be awesome :) ).

Is this thread dead or not? Sooner or later this thread will have a damn near unmanageable amount of requests.
 
OK, so I know you've said you like original and innovative stuff in the past and I'm not sure at what point that line is crossed... but I have seen Metagross, Solrock and Poliwrath in this thread so I thought I would give this a try.
Basically, hone claws Durant is completely outclassed in OU and should never be used. However, this rule doesn't apply as much to his band set. Banded Durant is a faster stronger Scizor with shit special defense and a tendency to miss at the most crucial moments but hey you're probably not going to use this team if you make it so that part isn't your problem it's mine
To be honest if it didn't miss so much it wouldn't even be that bad (edit- actually the more I thought about it the more I realised how much it sucks but maybe you can find a redeeming quality?)

Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Aerial Ace

Aerial ace is for safe hits against Mega Her and Mega Cham, as well as Breloom and other stuff it ohkos or nearly ohkos. Crunch might be better than x-scissor I don't know. Baton pass could be used over something I guess if lack of u-turn stings too much.

I am shit at making original cores that actually work so this is it for my request... not sure if you're still doing requests until oras comes out or if you're just tired of this thread, but hopefully this is interesting enough? If you don't want to do this though that's fine because not many people would want to.

Will mayybe get back 2 the requests. for now waitin for oras meta 2 settle and then will accept oras requests seeing as xy requests r turning into 'can u make a team around banded alomamola'

WCoP Trophy: Just built teams and watched better people use them.

Other: I guess OST semis and a decent record in SPL 4 plus both WCoPs? Still though, his chokes against bro fist and Sogeking respectively cost his teams (plus show he should stick to XY). OST he just made a run in a meta he more or less innovated, against guys who use his teams. Great Teambuilder (really), but playing skill could be improved.
 
well, to be fair, while my request wasn't at the level of banded alomomola, I can see his point applying to it.

Also, CTC you should probably put in the OP that you don't want stuff that niche, as you've said you want uncommon stuff to build around, so people come here with said incredibly niche idea in mind.

CTC releases a shit ton of teams for people to use and now everyone just gives him shit for how he plays? I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want to keep this going. Jesus Christ it's a fucking game.
